3 out of 5 eggsOkay, but getting old

Pros: Inexpensive. Dual Core. High clock speed. Good for overclocking.

Cons: Hot. Outdated technology. Uses a lot of energy. Slow when compared to newer Core 2 Duos.

Other Thoughts: This is a good chip, but intel has discontinued selling them to manufacturers for a reason. They use hot, energy-hungry, old technology, and are much slower than newer technology chips.

Bottom line: Go for an AMD Athlon X2 4200+, or even better, a Core 2 Duo E4300 or E4400. For less then thirty dollars more, you get a far better processor.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good cpu for under $100

Pros: great price. very fast cpu, and very overclockable. stock fan is very good, at least the one that came with mine is, runs at about 120-130F while overclocked to 3.5Ghz! Great CPU for building a budget gaming rig.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have this thing overclocked to 3.5ghz with a rated FSB of 1000mhz! It has a rated speed of 6ghz+ on systemrequirementslab.com!
