Give your basic computing experience a boost with the Intel Celeron 2.5GHz processor. You’ll enjoy having more power for today’s games and programs. The efficient 45nm hafnium-based design allows you to run multiple demanding applications with greater ease. The dual cores built in one package allow your system to process more information in less time.

Celeron technologies also let you get more done with reduced power consumption. Take advantage of Intel Wide Dynamic Execution for more processed instructions per clock cycle. Intel Smart Memory Access optimizes data bandwidth. Smart Cache provides a higher-performance, more efficient cache subsystem while Advanced Digital Media Boost accelerates overall system performance across your popular applications.

All of this raw power is accompanied by a thermal solution made specifically for this processor for lower temperatures. Experience the convenience, versatility and power of Intel Celeron processors today at a price you’ll love!

  • newegg Specialized Dual-core Microarchitecture The dual-core Intel Celeron processor includes two execution cores in a single processor to enable execution of parallel threads or applications on separate cores, resulting in revolutionary dual-core performance, breakthrough processor energy efficiency and exceptional system response when running multi-threaded or multiple demanding applications simultaneously. The innovative 45nm dual-core technology optimizes thermal performance for reduced power consumption and noise.
  • newegg Intel Advanced Smart Cache Intel Advanced Smart Cache Technology dynamically allocates the shared L2 cache to each processor core based on workload. This efficient, multi-core-optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from fast L2 cache, resulting in significantly reduced latency for frequently used data and improved performance.
  • newegg Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T) Intel EM64T provides an enhancement to Intel 32-bit architecture by enabling the mobile processor platform to access larger amounts of memory. With appropriate 64-bit supporting hardware and software, platforms based on an Intel processor supporting Intel EM64T can enable use of extended virtual and physical memory.
  • newegg Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) EIST allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease average power consumption and average heat production. Combined with existing power saving features, EIST may provide an excellent balance between providing power when you need it and conserving power when you don’t.
  • newegg Execute Disable Bit (EDB) Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas in memory where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation.

5 out of 5 eggsSecond CPU, even happier with RMClock

Pros: - Easily overclocked, reaching past 3.00GHz effortlessly.

- Undervolts (through BIOS or RMClock) very well to reduce overall heat and load power consumption. Most of these chips can run at stock speed, using only 1.0V.

- Powerful for it's specs. Not as good as an Athlon II/A4, but more powerful than the Celeron name suggests. Rivals the Pentium E5xxx series.

Cons: - Price/performance compared to the Celeron G5xx and Pentium G6xx series.

- Heat at stock settings, using stock cooler, with EIST on. Load temps reach near 70C during just heavy web browsing and watching HD media. Idles around 40C.

Other Thoughts: This is the second E3300 I've bought. The first one I've had in my HTPC for over a year now, with no problems except heat, as described above.

I bought the second one to upgrade a friend's gaming PC from a P4. In researching hardware for the upgrade, I discovered that RMClock now works with Win 7, which I believe it didn't previously. In my HTPC, I installed RMClock, and set to "performance on demand." I set P0 to 1.1v (mobo's minimum) and P6 to 1.1125v (second lowest). Actual voltage via CPU-Z was 1.064v, full load @ 2.88GHz (240MHz x 12). Ran Prime95 for 16 hours and no errors. Maxed out at 60C on stock cooler.

On the gaming PC, I set P0 to 1.10v and P6 to 1.125v, and overclocked in the BIOS by raising the FSB to 240MHz. Ran Prime95, and all was well. Now his gaming machine has a 3.00GHz (240MHz x 12.5) dual core running below 60C even during the most intense games, using the stock cooler. Simply amazing for a 2 year-old budget CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsSmokes for the money..

Pros: Faster than some of AXD's offerings at this price point. Overclocking with the right board is easy to do (Celeron's have a history of overclocking well in the day and this one is no slouch). Used these on several builds and customers have been very happy. Great replacement or upgrade on the old socket 775 platform.

Cons: ?

Other Thoughts: If you need a decent socket 775 cpu for cheap-this is it. If you get a good overclocking board, you may be surprised what it will do for you....

5 out of 5 eggsOC very well

Pros: OC from 2.5 to 3.3, FSB 200 to 266. Locked 12.5 Multiplier. Load temp are 52/46. Idle temp 38/38.

Cons: The Heatsink/Fan is flimsy, but I used my old Pentium D Heatsink (with copper core) and it is awesome now. Any cheap old LGA775 HSF will work so see if you can a Core2Duo HSF cheap.

Other Thoughts: Very cheap. Got it as a combo with MSI MB for less than $40.
