Give your basic computing experience a boost with the Intel Celeron 2.6GHz processor. You’ll enjoy having more power for today’s games and programs. The efficient 45nm hafnium-based design allows you to run multiple demanding applications with greater ease. The dual cores built in one package allow your system to process more information in less time.

Celeron technologies also let you get more done with reduced power consumption. Take advantage of Intel Wide Dynamic Execution for more processed instructions per clock cycle. Intel Smart Memory Access optimizes data bandwidth. Smart Cache provides a higher-performance, more efficient cache subsystem while Advanced Digital Media Boost accelerates overall system performance across your popular applications.

All of this raw power is accompanied by a thermal solution made specifically for this processor for lower temperatures. Experience the convenience, versatility and power of Intel Celeron processors today at a price you’ll love!

  • newegg Specialized Dual-core Microarchitecture The dual-core Intel Celeron processor includes two execution cores in a single processor to enable execution of parallel threads or applications on separate cores, resulting in revolutionary dual-core performance, breakthrough processor energy efficiency and exceptional system response when running multi-threaded or multiple demanding applications simultaneously. The innovative 45nm dual-core technology optimizes thermal performance for reduced power consumption and noise.
  • newegg Intel Advanced Smart Cache Intel Advanced Smart Cache Technology dynamically allocates the shared L2 cache to each processor core based on workload. This efficient, multi-core-optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from fast L2 cache, resulting in significantly reduced latency for frequently used data and improved performance.
  • newegg Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T) Intel EM64T provides an enhancement to Intel 32-bit architecture by enabling the mobile processor platform to access larger amounts of memory. With appropriate 64-bit supporting hardware and software, platforms based on an Intel processor supporting Intel EM64T can enable use of extended virtual and physical memory.
  • newegg Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) EIST allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease average power consumption and average heat production. Combined with existing power saving features, EIST may provide an excellent balance between providing power when you need it and conserving power when you don’t.
  • newegg Execute Disable Bit (EDB) Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas in memory where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation.

5 out of 5 eggsGood dual core upgrade

Pros: This processor is basically a core 2 duo with some of it's L2 cache disabled. For everyday use it gets all of the core 2's performance for half the price

Cons: Doesn't cook bacon?

Other Thoughts: I use this in my home theater pc. It can play a 1080p blu-ray quality movie without even trying.

5 out of 5 eggsBig difference

Pros: Installed easily. Quick - handles everything (for me, everything consists of web surfing, office apps, and Dead Frontier) without faltering. Never overheats.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGood budget CPU

Pros: This is a good budget 775 CPU. It doesn't run very fast but sufficiently so to handle most daily computational demands. I also tried to overclock it to 3.0GHz, which doesn't seem to be a problem at all. However, the 775 platform is going to be extinct. Now is probably a bad to buy this CPU.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Budget CPU For Its Time

Pros: Almost a year now... Easy overclock to 3.25GHz on the included heatsink and fan.
Arctic Silver 5 keeps it at 25C. Hasn't gone over 55C. Great replacement to keep an old rig going... or even an upgrade in some cases.

Cons: Older hardware has far less bang for the buck.

Other Thoughts: Biostar P43-A7 4x2GB PNY XLR8 E3400

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Pros: solid processor! popped that puppy in and worked great.
amazing shipping time too. 775 is still very usable

Cons: stock cooler is okay. invest in a third party cooler if you can

Other Thoughts: had an old MSI G41M-P28 laying around and thought i should bring it back to life. Also got a third party cpu cooler.

Pros: Quiet.
OC
good cool temp with Fan that it comes with.

Cons: a bit dusty after a short period of time. but what fan does not get dusty.

it didnt cook me breakfast

Other Thoughts: couple this with a MSI G41M-P25 LGA 775 Intel G41 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard and 8gb of memory and you will have a nice low end mach for under 150

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Installs easy, does what it says on the box.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I built a file server / web development box with this, not a gaming box, so I don't need a lot of compute power. I'm not sure how this would do in a gaming situation. It's powering a Debian Linux install with no problem. Maybe next time I'll get a more powerful chip, on a more powerful motherboard, but that'll be a while yet. This chip came as part of a Newegg bundle, and was my first build. I've learned from this build, but in the meantime, it's working fine.
