Intel Pentium E6800 Wolfdale Dual-Core 3.33GHz LGA 775 65W Desktop Processor BX80571E6800

  • 1066MHz FSB
  • 45nm Wolfdale 65W
  • 2MB L2 Cache
ICON Loading...

With the Wolfdale core, Intel pours more power into the Pentium package. The 45nm manufacturing tech allows Intel to reduce power requirements to 65W. Lower power means less CPU heat, which translates to lower system heat and longer system life. They also pack more features into the chip.

The L2 cache has been bumped to 2MB and the Front Side Bus has been pushed to 1066MHz. They also boosted memory access and execution speed with Wide Dynamic Execution and Smart Memory Access. These technologies work together to let the processor handle more instructions with more data per clock cycle. You'd better watch out -- your enemies will be shooting back faster now!

  • newegg Specialized Dual-Core Microarchitecture The Intel Pentium processor includes dual execution cores in a single processor to enable execution of parallel threads or applications simultaneously, resulting in revolutionary dual-core performance, breakthrough energy efficiency and exceptional system response time when running multi-threaded applications, or multiple demanding applications. The innovative 45nm fabrication technology optimizes thermal performance for reduced power consumption and noise.
  • newegg Intel Smart Cache Intel Smart Cache Technology dynamically allocates the shared cache to each processor core based on workload. This efficient, multi-core-optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from faster, more efficient cache subsystem resulting in significantly reduced latency for frequently used data and improved performance.
  • newegg Intel 64 Intel 64 architecture delivers 64-bit computing on server, workstation, desktop and mobile platforms when combined with supporting software. Intel 64 architecture improves performance by allowing systems to address more than 4 GB of both virtual and physical memory.
  • newegg Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) EIST allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease average power consumption and average heat production, which means of enabling very high performance while also meeting the power-conservation needs.
  • newegg Execute Disable Bit (EDB) Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas of the memory where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code into the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation.
  • newegg Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) Increasing manageability, security, and flexibility in IT environments, virtualization technologies like hardware-assisted Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) combined with software-based virtualization solutions provide maximum system utilization by consolidating multiple environments into a single server or PC. By abstracting the software away from the underlying hardware, a world of new usage models opens up that reduce costs, increase management efficiency, strengthen security, while making your computing infrastructure more resilient in the event of a disaster.

5 out of 5 eggsi got this in 9-23-10

Pros: to start with this is the best possessors i have ever owned i picked this one because of the 3.33 ghz i now i could get it to 4ghz and i could with no problems running at about 60c i thought that was to high even though the tcase is 74c so bought the ZALMAN CNPS9500 and the temps dropped like a rock idle's at 26c now and 36c at full load the voltage is at 1.344 at idle and dips down to 1.2 or so at full load intel says up to 1.3625 so im not even overvoltage'ing it my fsb on my mother board only go to 1600 and it has no problem running at that speed and right now im recording live hd video off of a tv tuner and half the time its idleing at 0% and 3%max i could see this doing 4.8-5 ghz on a good day if you are willing to run it at max temp's and overvoltage it something like 1.7-1.8 volts would be a good start

Cons: none i love intel AMD can suck it i dont know how meany computers i try to fix because people think that something is wrong with it and it is the possessor i cant fix over rated performance and processing errors

Other Thoughts: my mother board is old bought back in 08 i have only Integrated Graphics but i play crysis and it run at 60%-70% at minium graphic settings but i just boght a GIGABYTE GV-N440D3-1GI GeForce GT 440 yah im broke... so i will see what happens
intel+western digital+nvidia+gigabyte=a great running computer

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easily goes up to 4GHz with a FSB and vcore change.
Fast for a $100 CPU.
Reliable - at least over a half year or so it's been running nearly 24/7 at 4GHz.

Cons: Seems to put out more heat than expected, even at stock speeds.

Other Thoughts: Buy a better HSF than Intel's if you plan on overclocking or running it hard.

5 out of 5 eggsGood CPU

Pros: Very fast, cheap, huge upgrade from my P4. Very happy with the purchase.

Cons: Didn't even use the fan and heatsink it came with. I never trust them so I don't know the quality of it.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend to those with an older 775 and this is the best CPU the mobo can support

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: It was a pretty nice processor, would recommend this to anyone with a 775 fit.

Cons: My PSU was to low for it run properly. The fan that comes with it didn't fit my motherboards screwholes.

Other Thoughts: I plan on getting a new higher PSU.

3 out of 5 eggsNot what I thought it was

Pros: Has the cache I need

Cons: It registers as a 2.5 GHz instead of dual core 3.33 GHz which may be a problem with the software we're running.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decently fast cpu with a pretty low price. I have used this cpu now for a few weeks and runs like a champ. With hyper 212 at stocked clock speeds it runs 37c. If your looking for a cheaper cpu that can handle current games, this one will do you fine.

Cons: n/a
