Take basic computing to new levels with the Intel Celeron processor dual-core. Because many software applications for everyday tasks are now designed for dual-core processors, users can be more creative and productive in the home, office, or classroom. In addition, security and virus protection often means running more than one application at a time, and the Intel Celeron processor dual-core has the power to run them simultaneously. Based on energy-efficient microarchitecture, the Intel Celeron processor dual-core delivers superior energy-efficient dual-core performance.

  • newegg Intel Microarchitecture Based Dual-core Processing The Intel Celeron G530 processor includes dual execution cores in a single processor to enable execution of parallel threads or applications simultaneously, resulting in great dual-core performance, breakthrough energy efficiency and fast system response time when running multi-threaded applications, or multiple demanding applications. The innovative 32nm fabrication technology optimizes thermal performance for reduced power consumption and noise.
  • newegg Intel HD Graphics Intel HD Graphics with dynamic frequency up to 1GHz delivers smooth HD video playback and mainstream 3D gaming without the need for add-in video cards or decoders. It also supports a wide range of display connectivity options and is dual display capable.
  • newegg Integrated Memory Controller The Integrated Memory Controller optimizes data bandwidth with two channels, offering stunning memory read/write performance through efficient prefetching algorithms, lower latency, and higher memory bandwidth.
  • newegg Intel Smart Cache Intel Smart Cache Technology dynamically allocates the shared cache to each processor core based on workload. This efficient, multi-core-optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from faster, more efficient cache subsystem resulting in significantly reduced latency for frequently used data and improved performance.
  • newegg Intel Virtualization Technology Increasing manageability, security, and flexibility in IT environments, virtualization technologies like hardware-assisted Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) combined with software-based virtualization solutions provide maximum system utilization by consolidating multiple environments into a single server or PC. By abstracting the software away from the underlying hardware, a world of new usage models opens up that reduce costs, increase management efficiency, strengthen security, while making your computing infrastructure more resilient in the event of a disaster.
  • newegg Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology is an advanced means of enabling very high performance while also meeting the power-conservation needs of mobile systems. Conventional Intel SpeedStep Technology switches both voltage and frequency in tandem between high and low levels in response to processor load.

2 out of 5 eggsBETTER OFF WITH ASUS ROG

Pros: NICE LOOKING, LOTS OF USB, DUAL ETHERNET

Cons: USB 3.0 COMES ON AND OFF, ETHERNET WORKS SOMETIMES AND THE PIECE OF CR** DRIVERS WONT DO THEIR JOB.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive.

Pros: This little chip is what I've recommended more than any piece of computer hardware in my life. Even the on-chip GPU played source average 50-60fps. For the price, and even for 50 bucks more, it is well worth it. GREAT placeholder for a future 22nm chip (replacing this with 3570 shortly)

Cons: This chip didn't give me it's autograph.

Other Thoughts: Bravo Intel.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: This CPU can handle running SC2, Mumble, Firefox, Skype, Microsoft Word and Excel all at the same time. I am incredibly impressed that a Celeron can handle all that. Supports onboard graphics, which is a plus if you don't have a Video Card.

The price is fantastic, great for a budget build.

Cons: Slower than an i3, but what do you expect, it's the cheapest Intel processor Newegg sells.

Other Thoughts: ASRock H61m-DGS
Intel Celeron G530
8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 RAM
Logisys 550W P/S

Cheap build, able to run anything I throw at it. Granted not on anything over low settings due to having no video card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTCP cpu

Pros: Price
Performance / Price ratio
Graphics - no, really.
Cool temp

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Been using in a HTPC for 6 months. Initially bought on sale as a temporary cpu while deciding on i3 cpu and graphics card, but after using have found no reason to spend more $$ for anything else. It has worked great as a HTPC cpu. I don’t watch Blue Rays or game, but I do watch lots of DVDs, Netflix, and music. The integrated graphics have been fantastic on my 47” Vizio (1080). Overall great picture quality without any stuttering.

Very, very pleasantly surprised.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great for a workstation or PC that is only used for Internet. Even though AMD might be cheaper, I'll stick with Intel.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Clocks memory down to 1066, but knew that well before ordering it.

5 out of 5 eggsGRREEEAAAT!!!!!!

Pros: This CPU is great! Set up with 1 4gb ddr3 G.Skill ripjaws 1066 ram chip, evga gts 250, on a basic low end ASUS micro mother board playing games like gta 4, borderlands 2 and more a good quality medium high settings and getting frame rates of 30-80 fps depending on game on a 32" 720p tv, no complaints, for all you on a budget this is the only cpu you need, get a better video card though, like an hd 7770, or gtx 650 ti, or gtx 660, or get on e bay and buy a good used gtx 460 (I oredered one still under asus warranty for 105 from e bay) thepoint is this processor is great, it multi taskes better than my old amd phenom ii 550 black 3.1ghz and games like a dream, this is my wifes set up by the way, she loves it, does school on it, watches movies, surfs the web ect...

Cons: none there are no cons about this processor

Other Thoughts: People who say you NEED to spend more to get more are right, however, you do not need to spend more to play more, you need to be wise about your build, if you dont wantto waist too much money to just veg out then dont, what you need is a good graphics card and power supply, not an i7 or i3 unless you are doing some serious rendering or ultimate gaming setup. Another thing to remember is cooling, make sure you have super good cooling for gaming, graphics cards run hot that is how it is, download a good monitoring program like evga precession tool and set it up to show you temps in game, this should be the main concern is heat, once you solve any heat issues you will be able to play at ease.
