5 out of 5 eggsSimply a superb processor

Pros: This a blazing fast intel i7 ivy bridge CPU, still among one of the better processors you can buy RIGHT NOW.

I have mine overclocked, stable, at 4.8Ghz without even trying. This processor will be a beast for a very, very long time. Keeps very cool even under the heaviest loads.

For single-threaded applications, this CPU is a monstrosity.

Cons: It doesn't brew me fresh Kona coffee.

Other Thoughts: Buy it. Now.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Processor

Pros: I used this in a gaming build. I went with the i7 because I also use my computer for work and sometimes video editing. I have it overclocked to 4GHz with no problems. I even still am using the stock heat sink (1 year now). The hottest I've seen it get is 80 while video editing. Granted that's a lot warmer than I'd like, but I could easily lower that by getting a better heatsink.

Cons: Costs a little more than some processors.

Other Thoughts: Use it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Basically the top CPU on the market (besides the i7 4770K), it's fast, handles heavy loads like it's nothing, runs virtual systems flawlessly, gives great performance in games, and very overclockable.

Cons: pretty expensive but you get what you pay for, lots of quality performance.

Other Thoughts: Runs at 4.5GHz no issues using a CM Hyper 212+ or T4 on my ASRock Z77 Extreme4 (can go up to 4.8GHz with liquid cooling), plays every game I have with stable framerates, I run Linux in a virtual desktop and shows no lag or any issues, I can even leave it running while playing an intense game like Battlefield 4.

The FX 8350 is comparable to the 3770K in production performance (video encoding, file archiving, , however when it comes to gaming, the i7 does a better job in most of them since most games are still single-threaded, some games like Battlefield 4 will accel on the FX 8350 but the i7 will hold a better minimum average framerate over any of the AMD CPU's (which is a BIG deal).

PS- don't ever pair a weak GPU with it if you're going to game on it.

5 out of 5 eggsLightning Fast!

Pros: Fantastic purchase! It is extremely fast! Prior to my recent computer build, I was using a laptop with an i5 450m @ 2.4GHz, and what a drastic change! Very pleased with this CPU. It already runs with a turbo setting, but is also extremely easy to overclock, so long as you know what you're doing. I have mine overclocked @ 4.2GHz, and it never heats over 66C under extreme load tests. Completely stable.

Cons: No cons for myself, personally. However, I have read that this CPU can run hot if overclocked a bit high. That said, I absolutely see little reason to overclock this thing to a point where it actually reaches unsafe temperature. Even default speed, it is quite a fast little CPU indeed! But, if I were to recommend anything, it would be to upgrade the stock fan to something a bit more beefy if you intend to really push its limits.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this to anyone building a gaming rig, or something requiring serious power. It will deliver! As I said before, if you intend to really push this CPU, upgrade the stock fan. That said, I have mine running @ 4.2GHz with the stock fan, and it never even begins to heat up under the most extreme loads.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised, but I haven't given it a harsh test either.

Pros: -It's an APU and was Brand new at the time.
-Simple setup and installation.
-No APU related crashes. (IE: No CPU scrambling and no GPU screaming in pain)

Cons: -Needs 3rd party cooling for stressful situations in a non-AC environment. (Not out of the ordinary, but thought I'd point it out)

Other Thoughts: Being an APU, it allowed me to keep working until I can afford a dedicated GPU. I actually tested this on City of heroes to see just how many 'instances' I could run. I had the game set to what it decided on (not Ultra, but still HQ) based on my hardware. I managed about 7 instances and the only 'issues' were the fact that my FPS was being split 7 ways. This is a side effect of my (excuse for) bandwidth (1.5Mbps) and the fact that this is Not intended for that usage. On a single instance I 'think' was at like 30-60 FPS depending on whether I was idle or in a RAID. This was all using the stock cooler in an environment without AC.

I've set my temperature alarms for 80C and using the Stock cooler I would hit that when running a full system AV scan or 8 simultaneous threads of the BOINC application. Now that I've got 8 fans in this case and a dedicated cooler, I rarely see above 60-70C under the same load.

4 out of 5 eggsMuch Fast! So Powerful! Wow!

Pros: It really is insanely fast. I have thrown some of my most highest and mightiest of games WITH mods included. With the addition of a rather tall and large Arctic cooler, it has only hit 54 degrees centigrade which is immaculate as my last computer hit 80 or higher with the same game and mods.

Cons: Well.. This is where I got a little frustrated. The GPU wasn't working 100% right, and when I got to a very powerful part of my game, the whole system would freeze. No warnings or errors, just the whole thing would freeze forcing me to restart. The only reason I believe it was the GPU is because it only did it with said high and mighty games but didn't do anything otherwise. Eventually I got a different GPU for my PC after fighting with the driver of the onboard GPU for a few weeks. Now, it works like a charm. Its only enough to dock it one egg, its no biggie when you upgrade to something that is meant for graphical processing.

Other Thoughts: I love intel and for me... Nothing does the job better. AMD to me is only good if I am short on money and I am upgrading from an intel dual core. I got the 3770k a little early because soon enough it dropped in price and the 4770k was out and it left me a little bit chagrin with myself, but nothing bad. Just makes me wonder what my next build is going to be with intel making higher wattage processors. I haven't even overclocked this thing and its just being a monster. I love this chip.

5 out of 5 eggsFast & Runs Very cool

Pros: N/a

Cons: N/a

Other Thoughts: Being a computer builder I recommend this to those who are building or upgrading their processor on their Lga1155 socket motherboard. I have to admit this was totally worth the money and I'm very pleased on the out come of the processor. I'm a proud owner of this 3770k intel quad core processor.
