5 out of 5 eggsRobust and Fast, even stock!

Pros: Very fast at stock clocks; overclocks with ease (see cons though);

Cons: Heats up very quickly; need very good cooling for OC'ing at any speed.

Other Thoughts: Although the 3770k heats up fast, throttling will always protect it. I thought that my Corsair H50 would allow me mild OC's, but it couldn't hack it. If you plan to OC this even a little, make sure you have good cooling! And this CPU really performs admirably at stock clocks (turbo on). 10k physics score stock on 3DMark 2011.

5 out of 5 eggsNice standard processor

Pros: What can I say that others haven't? This processor is the best bang for the buck. I found if you invest a little money in XMP DDR3 you do not really have to OC the processor for the games that are out at this time. I have BF3 and with a Sabertooth z77 mobo and XMP memory there is no need for OCing if you have a good gamming card. Your internet will most likely bottle neck the speed of your system. This processor should carry you for the next 4 years for all your computing needs.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I recommend that you spend a little money and go for liquid cooling at least on the processor. Ivory Bridges run a tad hot and are designed to. At sustained high end game play with liquid cooling I get a temp of around 42 C running everything on default.

5 out of 5 eggsFaster than a Jack Rabbit on a date!

Pros: Fast, Fast, Fast...and Fast!!
8 Threads,
Runs relatively cool, especially when CPU DE-throttles itself to1600 MHz when you're not doing anything. Warms up when you load the snot out of it. I've seen temps rise to 70-72 during a Prime 95 session. While gaming temps rise to the upper 40's to low 50's--still cool though. Depends on the game of course.
On chip graphics ( a plus if you don't have the money for a solid video card yet). Intel HD 4000 is really not that bad.

Cons: Stock Cooler is...well, pathetic looking. Probably OK for stock speeds, not if you plan to overclock though. Get something aftermarket like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or a water cooler.
Yes, the heat spreader and core are separated with cheap thermal paste, intel dropped the ball there.
Price (not really a con), but it ain't cheap.

Other Thoughts: Thought about going with the i5, but I'm glad I decided to spend the $100 more on the i7. Hyperthreading does work. Haven't tried, or felt the need to overclock just yet, handles everything I throw at it with ease so far. If you have the money, definitely worth it, but if you're gaming on a budget go with the i5 or an FX 8xxx CPU.

My Build:

Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H
i7 3770K
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
8 GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz
Samsung 840 Pro Series 256 GB SSD
Corsair 750TX

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: None

Cons: Everything

Other Thoughts: I had this CPU for roughly 5 months before it crapped out on me. One day the OS would not load and kept doing a Windows Load/BIOS loop. Swapped out MOBO as well as everything besides the CPU. Ran PC-CHECK finally to find that 4/4 cores were bad. RMAd with Intel and the second I get the new one, all four cores were bad this time. Having terrible luck with this processor, thinking of switching to AMD.

5 out of 5 eggsEasily Overclocked - PCI Express 3.0 Here We Come!!!!!!

Pros: 3rd Generation Intel Core i7!!!!!!!
Effectively Doubles the Bandwidth of PCI Express 2.0
Increases the Potential Capacity of my SLI Setup
Can Easily be Overclocked to 4.6GHz on Air!!!!

Cons: Gets a bit hotter than my i7 2600

Other Thoughts: I was easily able to overclock this processor to 4.6GHz on air though I do plan on getting a Corsair H110 Closed Loop but honestly I get frame rates consistently over 150 fps on max settings on most games and I really don't see a need to go above 4.6GHz on this CPU. Getting the water cooling system is mostly to protect my CPU in the long run.
I use Core Temp 1.0 RC5 to watch my CPU Temps and I was on youtube and that for some reason made my CPU work a lot and I watched the temps go up to around the 150 degree Fahrenheit range.

My Setup that I am in love with (I know there are way better rigs out there but I get awesome framerates so who cares)

- Intel Core i7 3770k Overclocked @ 4.6GHz (Running completely stable on air with good temperature readings)

- 32GB of G. Skill DDR3 Ram running @ 1600MHz

- Dual Gigabyte GTX 660 2GB Graphics Cards in SLI (4GB Total)

- HT Omega eClaro Audio Card

- Logitech G500 Laser Gaming Mouse

- Microsoft 4000 Ergonomic Keyboard (w/ the front handrest tilted all the way up for extra comfort)

- Rosewill USB 3.0 Multi-Card Reader Front Panel

- Dual G. Skill Phoenix III Solid State Disks running together in a Raid 0 Configuration

- Asus 24x DVD Burner

- Gigabyte Z77X-UD4H Motherboard

- AOC e2752Vh 27" LED Monitor w/ 2ms Response time and Full High Definition @ 1920x1080

4 out of 5 eggsVery Fast

Pros: Very fast, no issues at all. No hiccups whats-so-ever. Super easy to overclock and heat stays low.
Intel core i7-3770k @ 4.5GHz

ASROCK Z77 extreme4
EVGA supernova nex750g
EVGA GTX 660
Kingston v300 60Gb SSD
WD 640Gb 7200rpm HDD

Cons: Can't overclock mine past 4.5GHz. once I hit 4.6GHz windows blue screens and crashes. (reason for taking 1 egg off).

Other Thoughts: Currently at 4.5GHz and stay under 80C while using Prime95.

5 out of 5 eggsOC it

Pros: Ok so I have taken the last week finalizing my system before writing my reviews. This is the heart of my PC I am steadily under 34 C clocked at 4.5 not even the slightest sign of a hiccup. I do plan on pushing farther probably to the 4.8 that others have been talking about for a steady platform we will see.

System

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Piece of Hardware

Pros: -Undeniably FAST
I just moved from a Phenom X6 1090T oced to 3.7Ghz paired with a Crosshair IV Formula. It's honestly kind of shameful how much the 3770K blows it away. I gained from 15-45fps in today's latest games (depending on the game) just from upgrading to this monster. Cinebench 11.5 had a score of 5.7 with the Phenom, with this I have a score of 9.06. Paired with a Vertex 4 windows boots in 12 seconds.
-Overclocks superbly
Super super easy to overclock. I bumped this sucker up to 4.8Ghz at 1.35v with no problems. I didnt mess with bus at all, I just changed the multiplier to x48. It did overclock to 5.2 but temps got in the way. (see cons)

Cons: -hot!
I have a corsair H80 with two corsair static pressure 120mm fans on this beast. At stock settings, i'tll climb to about 60c load 29-31c idle. When I overclocked it to 4.8 it shot up to 83c. lol THEN when I put this sucker at 5.2Ghz temps were off the charts at 105c. Things didnt really go to well after that. (BSOD)
I think that if you had a H100 with 4 fans on that sucker, you'd be good.

Other Thoughts: All in all, I would highly recommend this CPU to anyone that can spare the extra cash. Definitely go for the K version, you get about a 20% performance increase from a simple overclock.

System Specs:
Intel 3770K at 4.8Ghz
Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H
2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600
MSI Radeon 7870 Twin Frozer
Thermaltake TR2 RX-850w Power Supply
Corsair H80 water cooler

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome CPU!

Pros: Very good desktop CPU, well worth the extra money to get the k version. Very fast even running at stock speeds. The built-in graphics are plenty fast for most users, gamers may want to add an extra video card.

Cons: This is the first Intel build for me since the Pentium 233. I wish I would have started back with Intel sooner.

Other Thoughts: Very good build with combination of Asus P8Z77-V LE Plus Motherboard and Corsair Vengeance 32G CMZ32GX3M4X1600C Desktop Memory.

5 out of 5 eggsThe intel i7 3770K is both fast and powerful.

Pros: - Cpu is great for playing a game with Skype or Ventrilo, windows media player, and multiple background processes along with mutilple web browsers open all at same time.

- Easily overclocked (with stock cooler or aftermarket cooling solution).

- It is overpowered for playing games alone but just right for games with lots of other apps running.

Cons: - Higher price than amd cpus.

- Doesn't come with a laser or halogram technology.

Other Thoughts: I first purchased a i5-2500 and it was always running at 80 percent during a game like WoW running with lots of addons, WMP and Ventrilo running.

The i7-3770K does everything running at 35% cpu ultilization. I use at all in one watercooler on my cpu and get temps at no higher than 34 degrees F under load.
