  • newegg Intel 22nm 3-D Transistor The 3rd Generation Intel Core processors employ the world's first 3-D transistor manufactured at 22nm. Intel's 3-D Tri-Gate transistor uses three gates wrapped around the silicon channel in a 3-D structure, enabling an unprecedented combination of performance and energy efficiency, and ensuring that the pace of technology advancement consumers expect can continue for years to come.
  • newegg Evolved Graphics Built-in visual features such as the Intel Quick Sync Video 2.0 and Intel Clear Video HD Technology enable compelling user experiences across a wide range of intelligent systems. Whether your application involves medical imaging, video surveillance, or HD media playback, the 3rd generation Intel Core processors support smooth visuals, quick digital image downloads, high-density media processing, and synchronous video streams. The support for DirectX 11, OpenCL 1.1 and OpenGL 3.1 takes your gaming and computing experience to a brand new level.
  • newegg Intel Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology) Intel Hyper-Threading Technology delivers thread-level parallelism on each processor resulting in more efficient use of processor resources—higher processing throughput—and improved performance on the multi-threaded software of today and tomorrow.
  • newegg Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 Designed to increase performance of both multi-threaded and single-threaded workloads, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 allows the processor core to opportunistically and automatically run faster than its rated operating frequency/render clock if it is operating below power, temperature, and current limits. Furthermore, the processor can optimize both processor and Processor Graphics performance by managing power for the overall package, allowing an increase in the render core frequency and increased graphics performance for graphics intensive workloads.
  • newegg INTEL SMART CACHE This large last-level cache enables dynamic and efficient allocation of shared cache to all cores to match the needs of various applications for ultra-efficient data storage and manipulation.
  • newegg Intel Advanced Vector Extensions (Intel AVX) Intel AVX is a new 256 bit instruction set extension to SSE and is designed for applications that are Floating Point (FP) intensive. Intel AVX improves performance due to wider vectors, new extensible syntax, and rich functionality. This results in better management of data and general purpose applications like image, audio/video processing, scientific simulations, financial analytics and 3D modeling and analysis.

5 out of 5 eggsI7 3770K

Pros: I replaced a 2500K with this one. I originally bought the 2500k for a "backup" machine that just did video editing from content I took off of my DVR.

I saw the 4th generation Intel chips were out and I figured that I might as well upgrade while the chip was still available for 1155.

No real surprises as far as performance is concerned. I expected it to beat the 2500k and it does. I have not over-clocked it per se other than setting the board to XMP.

Threw out the stock cooler and did the Hyper 212 dance

Cons: Graphics 4000 killed Half-Life 2, every episode. I sent a note to the Half-Life web site and they referred me to Intel for a driver that made no difference. The 2500k chip worked with Half-Life

It is not a real big deal because I was using the on-board graphics to edit my video. I decided to buy a Asus 7970 card to install and the machine and for-go the on-board graphics.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Hyper Threading
Overclockability
Onboard Video
Clock Speed
Wowie wow wow

Cons: Doesn't make coffee or get me doughnuts in the morning

Other Thoughts: This thing is sweet.

I was rocking a Q9550 for a long while, missed the first few i-core iterations and holding off. Well then I recently began building a few buddies computers with the i5 ivy bridge processors and was blown away. Figured what the heck the i7-3770k should be pretty sweet. Having this thing clocked at 4.5 stable (can hit 4.6 with no big deal). The Q9550 ran at 3.85 stable but that was at the hairy limit. I have determined that you can squeeze about another Ghz out of intel processors with proper cooling.

The rig:
Antec P280 case
Asus P8Z77 Deluxe Mobo
Samsung SSD 830 SATA III 256GB drive
2 x 1.5 TB WD SATA III HD
3 x 500 GB WD SATA II Drives
LG Super Multi Blu
LG Super Multi with HD-DVD and Blu Ray
EVGA GTX 680 Classified
32 GB G.Skill Aires DDR3-1866
OCZ 1000W PS
Zalman CNPS12X Cooler
7 x Noctua 120MM Case Fans

Love this Case and setup!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing CPU!

Pros: Ridiculously fast, easy to overclock, handles everything I throw at it with ease, great versatility for gaming and productivity.

Cons: Stock cooler is inadequate for extreme overclocking.

Other Thoughts: I'm currently running with the stock cooler and it seems ok for the moment, I have it OC at 4.2GHz and it peaks at 58c under load and averages 36c at idle. I want to upgrade to a closed loop water cooler to really open up the overclocking on the processor. Something to look forward to.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a processor

Pros: This processor exceeds my expectations. Super fast and i think i have fallen in love with it. i used to run an Intel Pentium 4 @ 3.30 Ghz. Now this beast... I can run what pushed my Pentium 4 to the limits easily with this i7. Great Product, I recommend!

Cons: Got the processor a day before the 4th generation came out. not a big problem, but i would have gotten the 4th generation if it was out at that time.

5 out of 5 eggsglad i bought

Pros: easy to install works great and fast

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: I didnt know if i should get the i74770k or this i73770k and i chose to go with this and glad i did. it seems like a big up steep from my i7 2600k i got 2 years ago. if your looking there is a 5% inporvment from the i74770k and the i73770k

5 out of 5 eggsLittle Miss Powerhouse

Pros: Super fast, Super smooth. Has run everything I have thrown at it flawlessly.

The Performance of this Processor is simply amazing coming from a Pentium 4 on the mpga478 socket. Yes, I know, that thing belongs in a museum its so old and outdated.

Cons: Seems to run Hot, but that's normal from what I have read. Guess I need to upgrade my cooler. Stock ones are never worth it anyway.

Other Thoughts: What can I say besides WOW. Pretty awesome and well worth the coin.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: >extremely fast without any over clocking

>using the cheap COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO and adding an additional fan for a push pull config this cpu overclocks to 4.6gghz easily and doesn't break 50c under max load

>multithreading makes this cpu extremely fast and efficient

>no problems what so ever since the install, all drivers and software are easy to set up and install and work smoothly

>at 4.6gghz this cpu preforms just as well as intels first gen i7 6core cpu 1366 at almost half the price

Cons: none so far and I am not expecting to ever have any. my past 3 computers have used intel and I have yet to get a bad/faulty cpu and have never had any cpu issues

Other Thoughts: This cpu will last me much longer than previous models. Even games like crisis 3, planet side 2, and other modern cpu intensive games don't even come close to slowing this processor down.
