5 out of 5 eggsCore i3-3240 3.4GHz

Pros: Replaced an older i3-2120T 2.6 GHz (35 watt) with this processor. Much quicker boot times and programs load faster. The extra 800 MHz makes a huge difference!

Cons: Not really a con... with extra speed comes a little more heat from the heat-sink and processor. 55 watt vs 35 watt.

Other Thoughts: Did not have to re-activate my Windows 7 64 Home Premium! My Windows Experience score went from 6.9 to 7.2. Overall I am pleased with this purchase. I used an Intel i5 heat-sink I had lying around since it had a copper core. And I also used Arctic Silver 5. Idles around 35C according to the BIOS. Overkill for streaming movies, but good for light gaming with a video card. I am using a GeForce 650 GTX video card with an SSD drive.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid CPU

Pros: Used in a budget gaming build, I usually don't go with the i3's but this one surprised me. Right out of the box performed very well. No complaints from me.

Cons: None so far!

5 out of 5 eggsGood budget cpu

Pros: Although it is only a dual-core processor, it is very quick and the integrated graphics are decent when using it with streaming hd videos online.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsMore capable than expected

Pros: Low power
Fast for serial usage
Price
Stays cool with stock heat sink/fan combo

Cons: Limited multithread/core capabilities

Other Thoughts: I used this for a budget HTPC and light gaming machine and am very happy with it's performance. This processor will probably be a bottleneck for upgraders, but runs most current(ish) games fine. Handles Dark Souls2 (with enb), The Witcher2, Planetside2 on higher settings pretty well (using a 650ti for graphics). I'm not sure how it would handle something like Crysis3 or Metro: Last Light even with a video card upgrade though. I haven't had any issues with overheating even after longer sessions while using a budget case with no system fan.

5 out of 5 eggsUpgraded

Pros: Upgraded from a Core2Duo era rig with a E8600 chip. Real world performance is about 3x improved. Instant improvement in all games, quieter fan, happier dude.

Cons: None. Not at this price.

Other Thoughts: Bang for the buck.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap performance.

Pros: Low price, low wattage, emulated quad core (Hyper Threading), good clock speed.

Cons: Not a true quad core.

Other Thoughts: I got this to put into my budget gaming system and I must say that I had concerns but they were silenced. For what it is, a dual core with hyper threading, it performs admirably, running most games without issue, BF3/4, World of Warcraft etc. The low wattage lets you keep or not have to get a big and beefy power supply and this thing runs cool with the stock cooling solution it comes with. Just pair it with a decent graphics card, 4gb or more of ram and you are golden for non 1080p gaming.

5 out of 5 eggsHuh...

Pros: Great little cpu. Put em in my kids builds along with a 650GTX and 8Gigs of Gskill. Hoped, well rather thought it'd do well paired up with those for their gaming needs. It's so far exceeded my speculations.

Really an outstanding processor. It'll game. Handles Sims/Elder Scrolls titles/Battlefield games easily.

Cons: Nope.

Other Thoughts: Outstanding shock and awe for a budget processor. Recommended for your kids or the budget minded crowd.
