5 out of 5 eggsDon't let people tell you integrated is garbage.

Pros: This thing is beefier than I thought it would be. I can run Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at the cap with 90 FOV, 1366x768 FLAWLESSLY. The fan is quiet, and I'm never near 100% while doing things on my desktop.

Cons: Nothing!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor

Pros: Fast and Intel graphics are good enough for at least basic use.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Replaced a POC Dell motherboard which contained an AMD chip (not knocking AMD, they're good chips) with a Gigabyte board and this Intel chip. It absolutely screams for the mild use my mother will be using it for. I tried this chip in hopes that my mother would not need a VGA card for the mild gaming she does. I was right. This chip is enough. We have no complaints with this chip and the price is not bad.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy With It

Pros: Purchased as part of an upgrade build. It plays WoW without a discrete graphics card for some casual gaming and the day to day office work without a hitch. This pc is on almost 24/7 and the stock fan is nice and quiet. Paired with a GA-Z77MX-D3H.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Best i3 to get.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it. Great acquisition. I come from a 3-core Phenom

Pros: •55 Watts, baby!
•Ivy Bridge
•Quiet fan
•Good computing power coupled to the best graphic chip in Intel's lineup.
•2 Cores plus Hyperthreading, you do the math!

Cons: Let me see, um, ...oh yeah, it's not a Haswell. XD
Other cons:
It's not an i5 XD

Other Thoughts: (Note: I am NOT overclocking).
I had always used AMD for my desktop PC upgrades, however, I had tried Intel when my customers brought their PCs for service. I seemed to like it, so this time I wanted to give Intel a try, but without risking heavy money in case I didn't like it.
...and I liked it, ...and proud of it.
Switching from my 3-Core Phenom to this baby felt like changing from my Chevy Malibu to driving an Audi, ...for barely the same money.
Thoughts:
•The aluminum heat sink is a little tiny for what I was used to, but it has proven to be enough (and just adequate for those slim micro-atx HTPC cases.
•The pre-existent thermal compound looks a little oddly applied (like in aligned droplets) so when you are about to install the heat sink don't just stamp it there, but jiggle it a little bit to make sure the paste is evenly spread and distributed.
•With normal household use (web surfing, song playing, Minecraft, Netflix, Office work, etc.) this baby never gets above 50° on stock cooler and thermal compound.

Paired it to:
ASRock H77M MoBo (N82E16813157303),
8GB Team Xtreem Dark Series RAM (N82E16820313080)
SSD: ADATA XPG SX900 (N82E16820211596)

...feels like velvet. Can't wait for Haswell to give it a try :o)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little CPU

Pros: Good price:features ratio. HD 4000 graphics is enough to hold me over until the i7 Haswell comes to market.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a stop gap placeholder after my old laptop with a Core 2 Due Santa Rosa core completely died on me. The i7 just wasn't in the budget right now to toss into a new build, so this little guy will hold me over until the Core i7 Haswell chips are out.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU!

Pros: HD4000 - This is a plus in a lot of ways. I used this CPU at the heart of a gaming build for my girlfriend, this plus a Geforce GTX 650Ti. I picked this i3 up because of the HD4000, when paired with Virtu MVP on a supporting board it can have a nice boost in FPS and I love the enhanced V-Sync. So yes the HD4000 is good even for a system you will be using an External Car with.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great Intel quality. I have been building a lot of system recently. Intel and AMD. I have to say I FAR prefer the Intel ones. This and the i5-3570k are my 2 favorite CPUs. The great thing on this is most games are not threaded past 2 cores so you can get almost the same performance off this as the i5 series.

Bang for the buck this is great.

4 out of 5 eggsIntel is consistent

Pros: The processor works as advertised. Running some benchmarks shows that this processor in most daily operations has similar performance to my older system running a Core i7-920 @ 3.78 GHz. It is obviously not as good at things that can utilize multiple threads like video encoding.

Cons: The only issue I had with installation was with the stock cooler. The knobs that you turn to lock the heat sink/fan assembly to the motherboard have arrows on them that are deceptive. They tell you to rotate them a certain way which unlocks the assembly, not lock it. Everything went fine after I figured that out.

The graphics drivers for linux (specifically Ubuntu 12.10) are not the greatest. I had issues with overscanning that I could not address without lowing the resolution.

Other Thoughts: This unit runs cool. When sitting in the UEFI screen, the temperature reading is 29C with a room temperature of 18C.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price!

Pros: This CPU is perfect for my budget Hackintosh build. For the price it's amazing especially with the HD 4000 graphics.

4 out of 5 eggsBurn in failll

Pros: Intel delivers, just like always.... Sad AMD isn't keeping up anymore.

Cons: Had a bit of trouble getting the thermal pad to burn in. Kept crashing and locking up. Had me running in circles trying to figure out what was wrong. It was just overheating. Took a week and a half for the thermal pad to burn in properly, not sure why; all is fine now.

The Integrated Video Drivers on Open Source Platforms are incomplete. Lacks many of the proper rendering facilities. Lots of work-arounds and fixes in software to get it going right. Intel doesn't usually do things fail, but they sure did on this one...

Other Thoughts: If you run Open Source and want any 3D support, just get a CPU that doesn't have the Intel HD Graphics and save a few bucks for a real video card. You'll be forced to use a real card simply because Intel's HD Graphics driver support is tragically fail... It's performance would be just fine, but they didn't finish the drivers and refuse to come back to it and do the job right.
