5 out of 5 eggsSolid CPU

Pros: Very dependable little chip. For the money, this is by far the best CPU you can get. You aren't going to build a super computer with this thing, but if you are looking to build an average gaming machine, or even a solid work computer on a budget, this chip blows everything else out of the water. Super dependable and one of the few 1155 socket CPU's you can still purchase new and un-opened. Very good choice for almost any build. I build this machine for a friend who plays a lot of Diablo, and other action RPG's and he absolutely loves it. It can play D3 on max settings without even breaking a sweat. Super solid chip. Would recommend to everyone.

Cons: None worth mentioning.

Other Thoughts: Great chip for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsVery very good

Pros: Overall a great product, low power and enough CPU to actually do the work needed. I bought 3x of these for a mini-itx cluster. Very low watts, very low price, very low heat was my goal. Technically with a passive cooling heatsync and enough case vents you could get away with just that, I kept the default heat sync... no issue, very little noise. Combined with an SSD and a motherboard with SATA-6 its a great little mini-compute with very low costs and low power consumption. If you are thinking about beating a cloud provider like (amz or rackspace) prices for your own mini-farm this is the way to go, and you get 10x the performance.

Cons: None. Just that newegg stopped selling it otherwise I'd be buying 7 more.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Little CPU!

Pros: - Low Power
- Able to handle HD cable tuner (Ceton InfiniTV) and display in 1080p
- Can keep it fairly quiet and cool using a Noctua cooler

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Using in a Win7 Media Center. At first I regretted not getting the i3-3225 which comes with the HD-4000 Intel graphics core. However, I have so far found this sufficient for my media center.

5 out of 5 eggsHTPC 25W Idle, 49W w/ Prime95

Pros: Low wattage
Great graphics support

Cons: Too hot for a completely passive solution

Other Thoughts: Built a near-silent HTPC running two of three stock 120mm Silverstone case fans running at 640 and 490 RPM and a Silverstone NT01-E passive cooler. Plays everything (haven't tested any 4K video). Average wattage while playing video under Media Center 7 is 33W at 42 C.

From temperature/wattage tests:
With *no* case fans: I aborted a Prime95 test in 4 minutes at 78 C -- temperature was still climbing.

With closest 120mm Silverstone case fan at 490 RPM: the max core temp stabilized at 65 C under Prime95 after 4 minutes until I aborted at 15 minutes.

BTW, the NT01-E cooler was a pain to install -- perhaps doesn't support socket 1155. That would explain it.

Components: 35W Ivy Bridge CPU, OCZ Vertex 4 SSD, 2TB Caviar Green HDD, *no optical drive*, 4GB HyperX Blue DDR3, Silverstone NT01-E CPU cooler, Seasonic SS-400FL 400W fanless PSU, Silverstone GD05-USB3.0 case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for server environment

Pros: - 35w makes it powerful yet efficient
- HSF included
- Runs cool

Cons: It doesn't make sandwiches

Other Thoughts: Replaced an AMD Sempron 130 45w CPU. Very worthwhile upgrade and perfect for my unRAID server.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC CPU

Pros: Plenty of oomph for a 35W processor. Perfect for an HTPC that you want to occasionally do other things with, like play some older or less hardware hungry games.

Scored an 11.3 on Fritz chess benchmark, which is good for a dual-core processor, let alone a 35w dual-core.

Cons: I can't comment on the built-in graphics since I'm using a discrete graphics card, but I'm replacing my previous HTPC (A Zotac Zbox ID82) with this BECAUSE of the problems I had with the Intel HD3000 graphics chip. Obviously, I'm not docking any eggs, but if you're considering using the built-in graphics, just make sure you do your research first.

Other Thoughts: Powerful, cool, quiet. Not the best price, but I guess that's the trade-off. Very happy with it overall.
