4 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: This baby is compact, fast, and efficient. It gets the job done like no other for its price range. Had no issues with putting it in and it has been working fine ever since I did. Very quiet too, my case fan is louder than this thing.

Cons: Cant think of any to be honest, a great buy for what it is.

Other Thoughts: This CPU gets bundled with a ASUS P8B75-M/CSM Motherboard alot and that motherboard is awful. Get something else that's compatible.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat chip

Pros: Excellent value
Dependable

Cons: No multithreading

Other Thoughts: Purchased this chip for a desktop solution and am quite pleased with the overall performance.

Would recommend to anyone seeking for an affordable Intel platform solution.

5 out of 5 eggsReally impressed

Pros: Built a computer on a budget (just needed something that worked, not built strictly for gaming). I knew I wanted to have the ability to run virtualization software as well. It had been 7 years since the last PC I built, and I had never heard of "integrated graphics" before. For not having a graphics card, I was really impressed how the CPU handled some of my games on high resolutions. This was really a bonus, because I didn't want to spend extra money on this build, if I didn't need to. I can finally run VirtualBox on my PC, and get more familiar with Linux/Unix operating systems that we use at work.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to build a PC on a budget, and don't have a lot of time to be a serious gamer, this CPU is a great alternative with it's integrated graphics, and ability to virtualize.

5 out of 5 eggsGood CPU

Pros: Works, doesn't get too hot, fairly good price / performance ratio (got mine on sale).

Cons: I'm the 1 millionth person to complain about the Intel heatsink attachment scheme! (I didn't win a prize)

Other Thoughts: Idle just under 30deg, up to 60deg after 5 minutes of Intel Burn Test with Cooler Master Hyper TX3 heatsink and fan. Scores a 7.5 in Windows Experience Index.

5 out of 5 eggsGReatCPU

Pros: Fast
Great Cpu
Blows my mind every day
Have yet to see this CPU slow down for anything I have thrown at it.
Bought it at a Great Price

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This cpu is great for those of us who just want a fast cpu for a reasonable price, and not the top of the line. I paid $190 for it last Feb and the price still has not dropped....

5 out of 5 eggsMore than sufficient

Pros: Was the only 3rd gen i5 available for purchase on newegg at the time ( aside from the stupid over priced ones )

You really don't need any more processing power for your gaming rig. This is more than sufficient for any game. Your bottle neck will most definitely still be the GPU.

I've got mine OCed to 3.6GHz ( the max as it's not unlocked ), just for the little extra ompf, and it's doing fine.

Cons: one year later, and it's getting a little old.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Good 4 core processor.
Stays pretty cool

Cons: IDK, it costs money?

Other Thoughts: I'm gaming with this with a Radeon 7870. Great FPS on Crysis 2, Skyrim, pretty much everything I've played so far.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA three times

Pros: I have no pros as I did not receive a working processor

Cons: DOA

Other Thoughts: I ordered this processor for a custom pc build. I first received the processor DOA, I confirmed this by placing it in a working pc, which didn't power on, and then testing the custom pc with a working processor. This happened three times before I ordered the i5-3570k Ivy Bridge instead.

I'm not sure if i received a bad batch of processors but this was rather annoying.

1 out of 5 eggsBeaware of Bios Version

Pros: The motherboard has been reviewed very well, unfortunately I have not been able to use it yet.

Cons: Although advertised as compatible with I5 processors, the bios shipped will determine its compatibility. Version 1.5, which I received, only supports 1st generation I5. Without knowing the bios revision, there is no way to determine which processor will run on this motherboard.

Other Thoughts: As Newegg cannot provide version number of bios, the work around is to purchase a processor that will run on the bios supplied and then flash the bios with the current bios version and then install the more current CPU.
