5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great One Year On

Pros: This is a fast chip that is a great value for the money. I bought it to go along with a GTX 770 in a gaming rig and while I've upgraded the GPU to a 980 Ti, this processor still has plenty of power to avoid bottlenecking the system. Haven't experienced any problems with overheating, even using the stock cooler, although that's most likely partly due to the high airflow volume.

Cons: In retrospect, I wish I'd bought the K version for overclocking. However, I think that's more my desire to tinker with my machine than any real need to overclock it for performance.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this chip has performed above and beyond the call of duty for the last year. I highly recommend it, and would chose it over an i7 for a gaming rig any day. Use the $100 you save on a better GPU.

5 out of 5 eggsPerformance with Ease of Installaion

Pros: Extremely easy to install on to my motherboard. Came with a heat sink with pre-applied thermal paste. I did not use the provided heat sink, but utilized a self contained water cool system which easily installed on to the chip. This chip has provided great computer performance under heavy load.

Cons: N/A

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: I do everything on my computer. Watch/ Play/ Work and sometimes all at the same time. Have never had slowdowns or problems with the thing. Its nice for gaming and just in general stuff.

Cons: none that I had

Other Thoughts: Just overall a great CPU and never needed anything faster for what i do. Which is mostly game.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel Core i5-4670

Pros: Runs really fast
Good price

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Should have bought the i5-4670k version so i can overclock it.... Oh well, still runs GREAT!
Runs games like BF4, PlanetSide2, and BF3 all at max settings with no problem w/ a GTX 770

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Fast
Easy to Install
Ran games at high framerates even without GPU.

Cons: On startup, the stock fan sounds like it might fly off, but that's to be said about any computer processor fan. Before the BIOS kicks in to control the fan, it runs at full speed.

Other Thoughts: I didn't have the money to buy the parts in one sweep so I bought it in pieces instead, leaving the unnecessary GPU for last. When I installed several games and played them, they remained above 60 frames about 95% of the time. Of course an i7 is better, but overrated for gaming. Minecraft had some visual artifacts prior to installing the GPU.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and stays cool

Pros: Easy to install, really great performance and the stock cooler is surprisingly effective and keeps it at good temperatures.

Cons: It's not the "K" model so it can't be overclocked, but it does have the turbo boost so I don't even think I need to overclock because its stock performance is great.

Other Thoughts: No need to buy a more expensive i7, this CPU has plenty of power for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsMeant to by the Unlocked "K"

Pros: Have played max settings on everything I've played, except for games that are still in development.

Cons: Not the "K" version. But shouldn't have to worry about that for a while

Other Thoughts: Make sure when you're building your system you don't throw this in your cart. I believe I made a mistake because there was a Combo special going on with another item I bought.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns Solid, but WARM.

Pros: The 4670k is a pretty solid performer. Quad cores are currently the best all-around choice for quick desktop processing and gaming. It fits the needs of both the average user as well as people seeking high-performance solutions.

The chip that I received was perhaps slightly above average in terms of overclocking performance, I'm running mine clocked to 4.7ghz, cooled by CoolerMaster's Seidon 240 in a push/pull configuration. The only way I pull off those clocks is because of liquid cooling.

Performance is considerably better than with the 1090T I had previously, even with a 4.0ghz overclock and six cores. Frame Rates are much smoother, and games that require more CPU processing run better as well.

Cons: The only real con to this chip is the heat that it produces. Part of this can be due to a manufacturing defect where the thermal paste on the interior of the CPU is not up to par or filled incorrectly. Just google "Delidding intel processors" and you can find quite a bit of information on it that I can't summarize here.

The other part of the problem is that in PC components, they make them faster largely by making the CPU dies smaller. 22nm in this case. The smaller it is, the harder it is to dissipate the heat.

Most people probably will not notice the internal thermal paste problem unless you really load up the CPU (artificial loads like intel's XTU and Prime95) My temperatures spike from 75 to 85 and repeat under artificial loads.

If you are on the stock cooler, DO NOT attempt to overclock. You WILL fry the chip very quickly. In addition, make sure your case has access to free airflow.

Other Thoughts: Suggestions:
-Turning off LLC in the BIOS lowered my temps by 10-12C.
-Buy good thermal paste and properly seat the CPU cooler
-If you plan to overclock, buy a really good CPU cooler
-make sure your case has adequate ventilation (Case fans, free air, etc.)
