5 out of 5 eggsRuns Solid, but WARM.

Pros: The 4670k is a pretty solid performer. Quad cores are currently the best all-around choice for quick desktop processing and gaming. It fits the needs of both the average user as well as people seeking high-performance solutions.

The chip that I received was perhaps slightly above average in terms of overclocking performance, I'm running mine clocked to 4.7ghz, cooled by CoolerMaster's Seidon 240 in a push/pull configuration. The only way I pull off those clocks is because of liquid cooling.

Performance is considerably better than with the 1090T I had previously, even with a 4.0ghz overclock and six cores. Frame Rates are much smoother, and games that require more CPU processing run better as well.

Cons: The only real con to this chip is the heat that it produces. Part of this can be due to a manufacturing defect where the thermal paste on the interior of the CPU is not up to par or filled incorrectly. Just google "Delidding intel processors" and you can find quite a bit of information on it that I can't summarize here.

The other part of the problem is that in PC components, they make them faster largely by making the CPU dies smaller. 22nm in this case. The smaller it is, the harder it is to dissipate the heat.

Most people probably will not notice the internal thermal paste problem unless you really load up the CPU (artificial loads like intel's XTU and Prime95) My temperatures spike from 75 to 85 and repeat under artificial loads.

If you are on the stock cooler, DO NOT attempt to overclock. You WILL fry the chip very quickly. In addition, make sure your case has access to free airflow.

Other Thoughts: Suggestions:
-Turning off LLC in the BIOS lowered my temps by 10-12C.
-Buy good thermal paste and properly seat the CPU cooler
-If you plan to overclock, buy a really good CPU cooler
-make sure your case has adequate ventilation (Case fans, free air, etc.)

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Chip

Pros: A very fast processor for a great price! i5 3.4Ghz Quad Core is more processing power than you will ever need for any task! Being most task perform well under a dual core processor, this one exceeds that.

Cons: Other than no Hyper-Threading. I can honestly say nothing is bad on the processor.

Other Thoughts: Isn't this the chip used in the terminator? Lol
This is a great CPU and even for the price, you can't beat it.
Add this to a nice MSI board and your good to go!

5 out of 5 eggsNo problem, competent processor.

Pros: Everything works after about 10 months of ownership. Renders, streams TF2 (which is more CPU heavy than most games), and does some pretty hardcore word processing without a sweat. I chose this one over the -K model because I wasn't yet comfortable with overclocking, and the extra savings were good. However if you just might want the option of overclocking available to you, go for the K model, it should future proof a bit longer. But since I wasn't building a expensive build, it was perfect.

Cons: none.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable, cool

Pros: Runs well, stays sub 50 under heavy gaming load. Have not prime benchmarked, but this cpu has been reliable and fast for the price. Wouldn't have minded going with the 4670K for a bit of overclocking since it runs so cool stock.

Cons: None that I can think of. Handles things well.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, but hot

Pros: Works perfectly, easy install.

Cons: It likes to get as got as Uma Thurman in a bikini. With stock cooler, I am idling at 50C, gaming it hits 80+, that's no good. I had to disable turbo to prevent it from going to 3.8Ghz, which it LOVES doing even when it does not need to. With turbo disabled, I am getting far more reasonable temps under load.

Other Thoughts: If you get the K series, you need to get at least an H50 to cool that thing, the stock fan hardly cools this thing at its stock frequency. If you are not gaming or video rendering/digital design, something along those lines, then you are fine with stock cooler, otherwise, upgrade.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome CPU

Pros: This CPU runs very well. It has no problem running any game. It handles other CPU intesive tasks very nicely and with speed. The integrated graphics is better than Intel has released in the past, though I dont use it, I did try it out for a day just to test it and was pleased.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I could not have asked for more in a CPU. This is not the K model and as such will not overclock as well as the K model. The LGA 1150 pins will not work on most older motherboards, so be careful. Cooling fans for LGA 1155 will work with 1150 which is really helpful if you have an expensive cooling setup for older processors.
