5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor

Pros: This is my second Intel build. Last cpu was a 2500k. IT was great. I did alot of reviews about the new ivy bridge/haswell cpu it is hotter but by a few degrees celsius. 2500k was at 28C at idle with a noctua d-14 cooler. 4670k is 31-33 at idle with a coolermaster 212 evo with 2 120mm CM jetflo fans.

I wont buy amd because of a lack of CPU power.( formyself)

Cons: Expensive compared to AMD processors. but then Intel really doesnt have competition in cpu power really. AMD is good too, but not for my needs.

Other Thoughts: I have
Asus z97-a
r9 280 HIS graphics card
kingston v300
win 8
g.skill ares 8gb 2133 ram
BenQ 27" 2ms response time
Thermaltake core V71
EVGA gold 650 PS

works great for me. i mostly game and brows net.

5 out of 5 eggsJumped Ship From AMD

Pros: This thing is lightning fast even without an overclock. It overclocks decently, but I'm perfectly satisfied with it at stock, it loads from my SSD much faster than my AMD FX-4100 @ 4.2 GHz would.

Cons: It runs pretty warm. This thing idles hotter than my AMD was at 100% load. It does have a higher thermal limit though, but I don't like having a space heater in my house during the summer.

Other Thoughts: This is my first Intel CPU I've ever bought, outside of some older store-bought computers that I've had long ago. I didn't realize the difference in performance between AMD and Intel. I know comparing a ~$100 at release Bulldozer to a ~$200 newer Haswell isn't a fair comparison but it's definitely worth it for the performance gain.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD fan here...

Pros: Do you really need to read another review? Look around, best in its price range for just about everything.

This is coming from an AMD fan. This is the first Intel chip I've had since the P3... got it in a kit and WOW, this thing is impressive!

Got it overclocked to 4.2 on air without much of a problem.

Cons: It runs a little hot.

Well, more than a little, but that's because I'm overclocking it.

Had to tone it down for the summer, but not by much.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive Chip!

Pros: Performs almost as well as my i7-4770K.
Tested & physics are much better then 8 core Vishera FX-8350.
Does not bottleneck 2 R9 290s in Crossfire.
Does not run hot even @ 4.3GHz.
Does not draw a lot of power even when overclocked.
Allows me to play games, work on videos without any problems.
Very easy to overclock without high voltages.
Made by Intel.

Cons: Not one!

Other Thoughts: Ran physics test on 8 Core Vishera FX-8350 @4.5GHz against i5-4670K @ 4.3GHz and numbers weren't even in the same world. It's a very impressive little chip. I have my i7-4770K @ 4.2GHz and the results are almost the same. Nice CPU for the price that it is. I would recommend this CPU to anyone wether you're doing gaming or just daily web browsing, this chip won't disappoint you.

5 out of 5 eggsVery fast chip

Pros: Incredibly fast chip. Upgrading from a 7 year old core 2 duo, this thing is unbelievable. Opens chrome before I can even lift my finger off the mouse. Installs software very fast (this could be my SSD as well).

This particular chip doesn't overclock that well, the most I've gotten is a stable 4.3Ghz at 1.265v. This is about as far as I'll push it with my Noctua D14, as IBT temps get to mid 90's. Perhaps liquid cooling in the future will allow me to reach higher clocks.

Cons: Hot, only able to get 4.3 with Noctua D14

Other Thoughts: Overall a great chip that will serve me well in gaming for a while.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome CPU

Pros: Excellent CPU! Such power, so wow, much overclock!

Cons: None that I can see thus far.

Other Thoughts: We used this to replace an old 6-core AMD processor, the difference is night and day. FPS gains are through the roof and the OS runs blazing fast.

Also, I don't see the concerns that others are seeing with this CPU in terms of heat. We purchased a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo along with this CPU and we're seeing more than stable temps with overclocking during load. This thing runs like a dream.

The 4690k just came out, which is apparently the same CPU, but cooler temps, slightly better integrated graphics, and 100MHZ increase. I would go with that if you're building a computer now unless there is some sort of deal on this one.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny

Pros: Runs extremely fast even at stock speeds, however this is a K processor so it is designated for those who want to over-clock, stock speeds mean nothing since you can scale it to whatever speed you like. I was able to get mine up to 4.4GHz at 1.23v voltage which is just insane!

Cons: Not much improvement coming from a Sandy Bridge i7 (i7 2600K), mostly because of lack of competition probably. Also doesn't over-clock as well as SB but it makes up for it by being 10-15% faster clock-for-clock, nonetheless most SBs can over-clock a lot further than the average Haswell can

Other Thoughts: If you're planning on spending anywhere past $180 for a processor, I totally recommend steering away from AMD and just looking at the Intel options only. Clock-for-clock Intel is just way faster, AMD's current generation of FX processors are now only catching up to Sandy Bridge processors meanwhile Intel is just sitting pretty making 10% improvements to the original platform that launched them into an overclocker's market dream success.

The K series is still, up to this day, worth every penny. It is worth way more than it's asking price and has ultimately cannibalized what was once the whole selling point of the Extreme series line (now it just relegates to it being the higher-performance and higher-binned four or six-core variants of the current generation i7).

Nonetheless for the asking price you can't ask for any better. You can go for the i7 variant but they are essentially the same chip with the i5 having 2M less cache and no HyperThreading. For video gaming HT almost never contributes to any increase in performance and the 6M cache is already more than enough, so it is better to go with the i5 and put the extra money you save towards a better GPU. Nonetheless if you have money to spend on an i7, there is no harm in getting that too but it is not as big of a performance difference as the name nomenclature suggest.

5 out of 5 eggsIts a 4670K. of course its awesome

Pros: Its a beast. you already know that and its why you are looking at it. Sure you could pay the extra 100 bucks to get those 4 other cores that the I-7 offers you on the hopes that soon a game or two will use them but.....I'd rather spend that on the video card.

Cons: None. its quick, and with a cheap CPU cooler setup it gets stupid fast. I am sad that it does not produce delicious Heineken while im using it.
