5 out of 5 eggsIt's Intel!

Pros: Fast
Reliable
Overclockable

Cons: Expensive (Still worth it!)

Other Thoughts: I really love Intel CPU's. This Haswell series of chips are amazing. I have a Pentium, i3, and i5 from Haswell and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Yes Intel costs more but you really do get a superior product. If you look at the product reviews for all Intel CPU's you would be hard pressed for find any below 4 stars. I think 90% of them are 5 stars.

2 out of 5 eggsNo stable overclock

Pros: CPU functions on stock settings.

Cons: Have been trying to kick up the multiplier for a while now cant clock it above 3.8 GHz otherwise computer will just crash after putting to full load. I'd say i won the lottery for the annual stoning. Also realized I don't need to overclock cause no games out there need it to perform any better than at this stock setting.

Other Thoughts: So kind of bummed but at least it still works. And no I dont want to go through the hassel of rma under manufacturers warranty

5 out of 5 eggsHardcore multitasking and gaming

Pros: Extremely fast processor with 4 cores and 3.4GHz, especially considering the price. I compared benchmark reviews with i7s and felt the i7 wasn't worth the extra cost (75-80% higher price at the time). Coming from a Q6600 2.4GHz 4-core, I was very surprised by the increased performance overall.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I love this processor, see no need to buy an i7 for over $100 more. At 3.4GHz and 4 cores, I haven't bothered overclocking it. It's fast enough for everything I do, and I don't care about bragging rights. I might upgrade to an i7 Haswell now a year later with prices dropping but honestly don't feel the need for more speed. It's that fast. My next upgrade will be a bump up in the video card dept instead.

4 out of 5 eggsget Noctua CPU cooler

Pros: excellent value

Cons: OEM cooler sucks. Nothing new there. Try: 117F vs 97F. Big difference if you're going to do any over-clocking.

Other Thoughts: Noctua has a new line of CPU coolers that are made for smaller cases. Originally I got the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, super highly rated cooler, but it did not fit in my Corsair 250D. The Noctua NH-U9S fits like a charm, and has all the awesomeness that Noctua is known for. Protect your investment, and cool it right.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat cpu

Pros: Great cpu, fast, easy to install.

Cons: Stock heatsink and fan aren't that great, but will get the job done if you don't plan on doing any overclocking.

Other Thoughts: Definitely a good unit, especially for the price. I would advise getting the 4690K instead if you're going for an i5, though.
