4 out of 5 eggsGreat processor

Pros: Pros: very little problems with this processor,as it runs great. i would highly recommend this to anyone.

Cons: Cons: The heat. The stock CPU cooler is in no way prepared for this monster. It can hold out for half a year maybe but you'll eventually have to upgrade as I'm doing now.

5 out of 5 eggsFAST

Pros: Very fast. Decent price. Doesn't run hot (at least not with a Corsair H110...)

Cons: Very odd lottery of overclocking potential. No one knows if they will get a 4.2 OC or a 4.8 OC until they fire it up and try. Need serious cooling to OC one of these (from what I've read...)

Other Thoughts: The one I got turned out to be a decent mid-range overclocker as I was able to get 4.4GHz stable with Gskill Sniper memory at 1866. Never had temperature issues, just flat out instability above 4.4 GHZ, but hey: That's still almost a 30% OC! Had to push cpu voltage up to 1.295 -just under the 1.3v ceiling where Haswell starts to really heat up. Memory rated for 1866 @ 1.5v needed a boost to 1.52 volts to stay stable but it has been running 24/7 like this for almost a week now. I do have an H110 mounted in the top of my Corsair C70, pulling air through the radiator and exhausting out the top of my case. Glad I got that because temps have been very good. Also have four intake fans (2 front, 2 bottom) and one rear exhaust which give the C70 great positive air pressure (side panel vents taped up with clear packing tape.) At stock clocks idle temps are in the mid 20s, and overclocked to 4.4 running benchmarks temps never go over 80c. That's a win as far as I'm concerned.
System:
Corsair C70
ASUS Z87-Pro (V Edition)
i5 4670K
8GB G-Skill Sniper 1866
Sandisk Extreme 240GB SSD
MSI R9 270X OC Gaming

I replaced a Core2 Duo e6870 (Couldn't even get a 10% OC with that) and am very pleased with the Haswell i5, especially since the ASUS MB can access all of its overclocking potential and tweak every little thing the processor has to offer (which is a lot.) All games so far are on max or ultra graphics settings. This processor compliments a good graphics card very nicely.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns like a beast

Pros: This was the last component I had to buy for my first gaming rig. It is fantastic! Having it run a little overclocked for games at 4.1GHz with no problems (36C or 96F temp idle and 62C/144F full load in most games) with a 120mm radiator water cooler. Also bought it on sale for $20 off so that's always a plus!

Cons: Always comes with a lame heat sink fan that no one uses. Wish they'd release just the processor for a smaller price.

Other Thoughts: It couldn't be any easier to install. Just drop it in, apply the tension retainer, add some thermal paste and a cooling fan/radiator and you're good to go!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Much faster than my Intel C2Q 6600

Cons: -

Other Thoughts: Switched out my old motherboard, cpu, ram. Using same PSU, SSD, Video card.

My fps went from 65-70 on my GTX 560 + C2Q 6600. To 120 fps on this new processor + my GTX 560. Everything maxed. The game is dota2 btw. I am very happy with this processor.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great so far.

Cons: The connectors for the cooler to the motherboard are a bit awkward and flimsy. Hard to tell if they're snapped in all the way.

Other Thoughts: Some day down the line I'll swap out the cooler for a waterblock and do some overclocking.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Processor

Pros: I wanted a CPU that would last me marginally through college; as well as supply me with enough power and overclocking ability to play games. I didn't want to get an i7 just because of budget and price/performance.

Cons: None as of yet.
