5 out of 5 eggsGreat little cpu

Pros: Does what a cpu does it does math.
overclocked to 4200mhz for well over a year no issues with water cooling sitting at 39*c 41*c at load

Cons: Has not broken down so i don't see why it deserves any hate unless packaging is something to hate. Guess the only con i can think of is the stock fan it comes with is what i would say the bare min of what to use to use the processor however if you are buying a cpu I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT YOU USE A HIGH END COOLER OR WATER COOLING.

other than that good work intel.

Other Thoughts: please dont overclock unless you have decent cooling im just trying to be helpful to the new people out there.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel Core i7-4770K Haswell

Pros: The overclock has been stable at 4.2 GHz with reasonable temperatures <70 C and a moderate 1.22 V. The temperatures are relatively and improvements were made in the 4790 K. The chip is a great performing quad core, as noted in the many reviews.

Cons: Temperatures are a challenge to control at large overclocks without exotic cooling.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Works as advertised. Nothing more.

Cons: Disappointed, I bought this when they first came out with an expectation of doing some overclocking.
The chip I got could only do up to 3.9ghz, Which is it's turbo frequency, it wouldn't do anything more then that stable.
I wasn't one of the lucky ones since its really only about 6% of these that are actually overclockable. No big, it works. but with Intel being a supergiant I would expect that Quality control would be better.

Other Thoughts: going back to AMD, Unless I want to save up for the X variant. But that's like 1000 to1700 just for the processor, depending on how many cores you want.
Will not buy another K series.
Some people are lucky, I just wasn't.

4 out of 5 eggsGood chip, but don't buy it.

Pros: -Fast (duh)

-got mine OC'd to 4.8 on 1.3 volts, though it runs unbelievably hot.

-

Cons: -Awful heat spreader lid. The 4790k is usually cheaper now.

-Don't buy this.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU, Poor Stock Cooler

Pros: Fast, cool (with appropriate cooler, case), stable CPU!

Cons: Stock cooler is pretty much garbage. Idle temps around 80 C and almost instantly escalates into thermal throttling/system shutdown within seconds of launching Prime95.

This is a given, but then again I would not mind paying a bit more from the start for a halfway decent cooler with a real mounting plate instead of the fragile and frustrating plastic locking mechanism.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent CPU!

Pros: -Fast.
-Efficient.
-8 threads + HT
-Decent overclocker.
-Tears through anything I throw at it.
-Good at video rendering/editing.
-Works great with a Z97 board.
-Perfect for gamimg.

Cons: -Runs a little hot when overclocked.

Other Thoughts: I have it paired with a Z97 Maximus VII Hero and it's been great. I've had this CPU for about a year now. I had it with Z87 Sabertooth before and it was just as flawless. Currently on Maximus VII Hero it's sitting @ 4.4GHz, paired with Corsair H105 (max temps 74C).
