Does this processor require a "server" board with a C2xx series chipset, or can I use it with a consumer board? I ask because I don't need ECC memory or integrated graphics and this processor is cheaper than the speed equivalent i7-4770. Please ignore my previous post of the same question, I asked before I logged in.

It does not require a server motherboard. A standard desktop motherboard is fine if it is the same socket. Many people who don't overclock use Xeon processors, especially for gaming.

sorry I don't really know, I bought it for a server board. but I think you are not able to use it with consumer board
