Modernize on Intel® infrastructure
Efficient IT infrastructure starts with industry-leading server technology. New Intel® Xeon® processors reduce server space, cooling costs, and energy use, while the Intel® 10GbE Server Adapter simplifies network design and storage complexity. Industry trend assessments show that adopting high-ambient temperature designs raises optimal temperature set points, which significantly reduces data center cooling and power utilization costs.
This review is from: Intel Xeon E5-2660 v2 Ivy Bridge-EP 2.2GHz 25MB L3 Cache LGA 2011 95W Server Processor BX80635E52660V2
Pros: 10 cores, 20 threads, 2.2ghz to 3.0ghz turbo. Stays at 2.6ghz most of the time. AMAZING Processor. Have 2 of these in a massive super workstation. 3x faster render times in 3ds Max. Cinebench score of 2286! Have to go up 3k more for the highest score recorded so far, which is 2600. Highly Recommended for workstation use such as 3D animation, modeling, AE, Premiere, etc.
Cons: Too Expensive, but worth the money compared to everything else out today. Becareful with the motherboard you choose to put these in, very few support these without a bios update which requires the sandy bridge xeon to update.
