5 out of 5 eggsStreamer Worthy!

Pros: Can run any game using a super high encode in OBS while streaming and not get any fps drop what so ever! This thing overclocks well to 4.4-4.5 stable and works flawlessly with a GTX 980.
I stream on twitch by the name of FeatureTV and the viewers love the quality it brings with super smooth performance to hard hitting games that are cpu intensive.

Cons: Maybe the price but for the fact i have no issues with it, i guess none.

Other Thoughts: Probably could of got good performance with something similar but not as good but i feel i am good at what i do and i need something that's good at what it does. The price + reviews for me just spoke to me that this thing is quality.

5 out of 5 eggsMr. Blazeorm

Pros: This is what I have search in the past 5 years I have been with intel...
Intel i7 3960x Sandy Bridge-E the one I have been using the past 5 years has 2.27 Billion Transistors and it has been created for hard core gamers, media freaks and hardcore editors.... And this one the one I am posting the review is Intel i7 4960x Ivy Bridge-E has 1.86 Billion Transistors and it has been created for media freaks, hardcore editors with a wide energy efficient it also works for gamers but not as good as the Sandy Bridge-E..... Comparing the AMD 8350 FX Zambezi that has 1.2 Billion Transistors that are specially designed for simulations means that it was created for Extremely Hardcore Gamers only.... The tells u everything guys....

Cons: Pricey but worthy if any of you guys want a fast processor for everything I strongly recommend to look forward on Buying not this version but the old one code name Sandy Bridge-E this one is
4960x the old one is
3960x

Other Thoughts: For all of you that thinks that the lower NM the better you are wrong cause until that's starts to matter it has to be nano size meaning way beyond right now probably at least 10-15 years from now maybe the year 2025-2030

5 out of 5 eggs  Fast, Freaky Fast

Pros: This is a very fast processor. I originally thought the investment was not worth it, but after considering the options decided on it anyway. I do not regret that decision. It eats through video compiling live a hot knife through soft butter. I built a monster PC that will last me quite a while. Although the investment was significant, I built a machine that should last a good while. I feel strongly that although this was a premium, I will get the life and speed necessary to offset that investment.

Cons: The cost, but most enthusiast chips are for a select audience.

Other Thoughts: I have since bought a second one that I want to use of my wife's PC. These chips rock. I may upgrade the motherboard before I will need to upgrade this chip. Too bad I cannot put both of these CPUs in one motherboard to make a machine that could be extraordinary.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Investment

Pros: For all the haters, I'm going to explain why this chip is worth the xtra money. I bought an extreme edition chip back in 2009. The one I bought was "Intel Core i7-965 Extreme Edition Bloomfield Quad-Core 3.2GHz LGA 1366". 5.5 years later, I'm still using this cpu and am able to play the latest games while watching a movie (blu-ray ripped to iso using clone drive) without even taxing that old cpu. The only complaint I have is that I can't uprade my motherboard since the chip and socket aren't supported any longer. I'd really like to get USB3.0 on that machine LOL. I probably still have 2 - 3 (maybe more) years of being able to run anything I want on my comp.. at that point, it will be closing in on a 10 year old machine. Oh, and I haven't overclocked this chip at all.. it's running with factory specs.

Cons: Initial investment is steep.

Other Thoughts: In my situation, the investment was worth it.. I have a sandy bridge chip in my second machine that I had to put a beefier cooler on just to do the same stuff I can do on my 5 year old extreme chip that's running on stock fan/heatsink.

You end up saving because you won't need to build another machine for a decade or so. You will just need to upgrade vid card and maybe RAM once in awhile.

With other chips, you generally end up building every 4 years or so.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel Core i7-4960X Ivy Bridge-E 6-Core 3.6GHz

Pros: fast as hell

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Ive read the reviews. i understand the get your moneys worth. all the reviews say that you can get a lower cpu that will best this one if you overclock it. stock speed to stock speed this one is better and overclock it from what i read up to 4.8 with the right config is a treat you dont need to oc it 24/7 just when you need it.

and lets be honest if your after speed why would you get a lower type of cpu just to oc it to get past this cpus stock speed

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Processing Power

Pros: I do extensive live-streaming and video rendering, and intense gaming and this processor is able to do all three at the same time. It is extremely snappy, does not run hot in the least bit, most of the time my temps are in the low 80Fº mark with the Corsair H100i. Would buy again 10/10

Cons: None, this thing is a beast and was a breeze to setup.

Other Thoughts: Love the L3 cache, 15 MBs is a beast.

5 out of 5 eggsRidiculously Fast

Pros: There's nothing I can't throw at this thing. Incredible speed.

Cons: Price of course.

Additionally, this processor does have quite a bit of heat associated with it. Not anything too terrible, but do make sure you have a good cooling system.
