5 out of 5 eggs4.4 GHz OC here

Pros: I think Intel chips are very good. My first build computer was an AMD and I noticed a big difference moving to an Intel.

Cons: I was only able to get a stable OC at 4.4 GHz . When liquid cooling my temps were getting up to like 75 C when running prime95. I think I got unlucky on my bin. Read somewhere that on average these will OC to 4.5 GHz . Pretty rare to get OC of 4.7 and above. Below 4.3 GHz for stable OC you are unlucky.

5 out of 5 eggsMONSTER

Pros: Seems i am the only one running it on the ASUS Rampage IV Gene LGA 2011, i want to game but i do video editing and wanted something future proof and smaller then a monster Eatx, way to big for me... I am easily getting 4.8GHZ with 1.38v on a H100i and Corsair just came out with a new case, the Corsair CC-9011070-WW MicroATX Mid Tower Air 240, What a sweet case! So i got the BOMB of chips, Nice small size and NOTHING comes close to it in power.... I just can't wait to put some GTx 880 in SLI with it..... Wahoooooooom talk about future proof... This one gonna run like my i7 920 did 6 years ago and still rocking out!

Cons: won't give me a foot rub

Other Thoughts: as stated above, nuff said

5 out of 5 eggsIntel 6 Core OEM CPU

Pros: Cost reasonable and rock solid engineering as we've all come expect from Intel.

Cons: Does not come with a CPU Fan, but you are for warned before purchase that this is how it will ship to you.

5 out of 5 eggsHell to the Yes

Pros: 1. It is blazing fast.
2. It doesn't run nearly as hot as I thought it would. Infact, my HUGE Noctua heatsink and fans are probably overkill for cooling this cpu.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: I was having some POST issues and my computer wouldnt boot. It was either my mobo, processor or graphics card. I didn't have beeps/leds to tell me which. SO I RMAed all of them.

Between Intel, Gygabyte and MSI. Intel was head and shoulders above the rest in customer service and warranty support.

The techs were knowledgeable, courteous and more than willing to skip all the time consuming level 1-2 diagnostic steps realizing I had already done all of that.

I opted to use their advance warranty service where I pay the price of a second processor, they ship it to me overnight (I seriously got it the next day) and then I mail them back the allegedly defective processor. I was apprehensive about this at first...what if they refund the wrong amount? what if they take so long to process the refund that i'm charged an interest rate? (I used a credit card). But! None of that happened. Everything went flawless.

I have always been open minded about what processors I use. I'm all too happy to use AMD over Intel if the price (if performance is equal) suits me.

But with service like this. I'll never go back to AMD. Intel all the way.

5 out of 5 eggsFEED ME SEYMOUR

Pros: "Nom nom nom nom nom" - The sound this thing makes as it devours any desktop application you throw at it.

Cons: Price - but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Probably one of the best processors I've ever owned. In the 3D Mark test paired with an ATI HD 7990 on stock settings it scored better than 93% of CPUs tested. This is one of the best gaming CPUs on the market currently.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat cpu

Pros: quad channel 2133 4x8gb running flawlessly
only 72c full 12 thread load while vid encoding home vids
clock to 4.2ghz stable
1/2 price of 4960k with same OC clock speeds

Cons: only clocks to 4.2g :(
only gets 7.8/7.9 WEI (noone really cares but its really silly since 3770k @4g gets 7.9)

Other Thoughts: get intels insurance if you OC even if you dont my 4960k was only 35USD and intel replaced it w/o issue after lightning killed it (yes i had a surge protector and the insurance from that covered the other parts)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Guys looking at this and the 4960k know whats up already and are just deciding if they want the spend almost double for the 4960.. Well I decided not too and I have no regrets, this has plenty of power and overclocks very well.. Save the money and grab this processor now.

Cons: NONE

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Overclocker and Single-thread performer

Pros: I have this chip overclocked to a stable 4.9 Ghz. People that say you don;t have any OC headroom probaly dont have a good board or unluckily ended up with a poor quality chip. It is a great multi-tasker. With normal use I only see 3-4% with 30 tabs open in Chrome(some playing videos).

Cons: High Price

3 out of 5 eggsOverrated

Pros: *4* Channel Ram controller. Top end processor.

Cons: price

Other Thoughts: I usually by Amd chips, but I wanted to see if intel was worth a chance. I must say I am disappointed by this cpu. I saw no improvement over my fx 8150, at least not other than benchmarks. Truthfully I feel dumb for wasting the money. In this chips defense the lack of noticeable improvement might be due more to software limitations than this chip's tech, at least that is what I tell myself to sleep at night.
