5 out of 5 eggsFirst Intel I've owned

Pros: I decided it was time to build myself own computer for the first time and my friends were telling me 4770K but I figured I'd try something different and wow....I've only messed with it a little and am overclocked to 4.6 and that's enough for me I love this processor.

Cons: none that I can think of

5 out of 5 eggsBuy it

Pros: Awesome. Have it in my PC and haven't had a single problem, no bottlenecking. My r9 270 can run at 100% usage fine. Performance is close to 4770k however the 4820k is cooler, and has higher clock speed. Great processor.

Cons: Non so far

Other Thoughts: I love it. Haven't had it long, but I love it so far.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Upgrade

Pros: Fast, stable, easy to install

Cons: None so far... other than I wish it was free.

Other Thoughts: This upgrade was a long time coming. I've been pushing my system pretty hard since I installed this piece, and I'm not sweating yet.

5 out of 5 eggsPower!!

Pros: - Runs cool despite 130watt TDP
- Powerful (encoded a 320Kbps, 1 GB File Size song in 25 seconds)
- Awesome Overclocking ability

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: This thing is a beast! I upgraded from a Core i5 2500 and this CPU blew my mind being able to handle anything I threw at it with ease. My example is in a game of Minecraft in an amplified world..... My old Core i5 2500 would get maxed out during normal gameplay and heat up ~65c where under the same conditions this CPU goes, "Haha That tickled" only needing 25% of its total processing power!! Now THAT IS AWESOME!
I can get with a Xigmatec Black Knight CPU Cooler and thermal grease I run temps around 35c idle to 50c max load! Yes 50c max load..... all cores clocked @ 4.1GHz
and oh I normally run this CPU at 4.1GHz BUT IT CAN DO SO MUCH MORE. I hate overclocking but its like a waste of cash not to overclock this beast! I got a stable 4.65GHz before needing to back off.
If you are on the line.... just buy this beast! You will NOT be sad at all!

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely fast

Pros: Unlocked multiplier makes overclocking easier. Extremely fast, even at stock. Runs cool. 22 nm architecture. No heatsink / fan is a plus to me. I never used the stock ones anyway.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from an X58/ i7-920 setup to this processor. Paired it with an MSI X79A-GD45 Plus and 16GB of GSkill DDR3 2133 RAM. Boot times are noticeably faster, as are app and game load times. Nothing seems to slow this system down.

Some might say this processor is entry level because if you're on LGA 2011, you might as well get a CPU with six or eight cores. Personally I have no regrets, and I know I can upgrade down the road if I ever need to. This CPU seems to be on par with a 4770K benchmark-wise, which is more than adequate for me at this time.

5 out of 5 eggsi7-4820K

Pros: To be honest I was skeptical about quad core cpus from intel, I didn't see myself buying one since I've been working with AMD most of the time. This fella can chew anything that I trow at it it performs faster than my AMD FX 8350 in any possible way. Runs cool and it uses less power which is awesome, Intel has won me over AMD

Cons: I find no cons so far with this cpu, did not include a cooler no biggie for me I'm liquid cooling it, would be nice if it includes a excelent thermal paste with it but appart from that nothing I can add to

5 out of 5 eggsStep up from the 2600k

Pros: Very happy. Runs even better than my 2600k. Over clocks like mad.

Cons: Did not install its self.

5 out of 5 eggsWorkhorse

Pros: Chews through anything I throw at it with ease. Gaming is the lightest activity this CPU sees from me. Video editing and encoding as well as 3D modeling analysis is where this chip shines. 2011 socket and the X79 chipset is made for being a powerhouse of a workstation. I run CFD and stress/ fatigue analysis simulations with this and it makes my work computer look pathetic.
Overclocking was great as well. I was able to run firestrike at 5GHz with just 1.48 Vcore and never saw more than 70C. This was just stable enough to do the firestrike run and I only overclock while bench testing.

Cons: I haven't found any yet.

Other Thoughts: I use Solidworks for my design use and simulations. If I just wanted a gaming rig I would have gone with something a lot less than this as games are not CPU dependent.
My overclock at 5GHz was just stable enough for me to run Firestrike. My physics score was a 12881 (28% increase) but my overall score was a 7553 (only a 2% increase). I use a MSI X79A-GD-45 Plus MB and a Cooler Master Seidon 240M AIO.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Easy to instal, stable, ability to overclock

Cons: Benchmarking (Cinebench) shows it is not as fast as other 4 core hyper-threaded CPUs, although that could be something else in my system. Not positive, but most likely the CPU.

Other Thoughts: It works!

5 out of 5 eggsThe greatest CPU I've ever owned

Pros: Price
Speed
Overclocking ability, I could get 4-5GHz with minimal cooling.
Helps run games flawlessly
Intel makes a stronger product than its competition
High benchmark scores

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Unless AMD releases something absolute incredible - and even then - I don't think I would ever buy an AMD chipped product again. Intel all the way and ever PC I have ever owned had an AMD chip inside.

I believe I received what some refer to as the golden CPU because with the Asus X79 Deluxe MOBO you are able to overclock to 6GHz with an adequate cooling system. Don't try this at home ;)
