5 out of 5 eggsi7-4820K

Pros: To be honest I was skeptical about quad core cpus from intel, I didn't see myself buying one since I've been working with AMD most of the time. This fella can chew anything that I trow at it it performs faster than my AMD FX 8350 in any possible way. Runs cool and it uses less power which is awesome, Intel has won me over AMD

Cons: I find no cons so far with this cpu, did not include a cooler no biggie for me I'm liquid cooling it, would be nice if it includes a excelent thermal paste with it but appart from that nothing I can add to

5 out of 5 eggsStep up from the 2600k

Pros: Very happy. Runs even better than my 2600k. Over clocks like mad.

Cons: Did not install its self.

5 out of 5 eggsWorkhorse

Pros: Chews through anything I throw at it with ease. Gaming is the lightest activity this CPU sees from me. Video editing and encoding as well as 3D modeling analysis is where this chip shines. 2011 socket and the X79 chipset is made for being a powerhouse of a workstation. I run CFD and stress/ fatigue analysis simulations with this and it makes my work computer look pathetic.
Overclocking was great as well. I was able to run firestrike at 5GHz with just 1.48 Vcore and never saw more than 70C. This was just stable enough to do the firestrike run and I only overclock while bench testing.

Cons: I haven't found any yet.

Other Thoughts: I use Solidworks for my design use and simulations. If I just wanted a gaming rig I would have gone with something a lot less than this as games are not CPU dependent.
My overclock at 5GHz was just stable enough for me to run Firestrike. My physics score was a 12881 (28% increase) but my overall score was a 7553 (only a 2% increase). I use a MSI X79A-GD-45 Plus MB and a Cooler Master Seidon 240M AIO.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Easy to instal, stable, ability to overclock

Cons: Benchmarking (Cinebench) shows it is not as fast as other 4 core hyper-threaded CPUs, although that could be something else in my system. Not positive, but most likely the CPU.

Other Thoughts: It works!

5 out of 5 eggsThe greatest CPU I've ever owned

Pros: Price
Speed
Overclocking ability, I could get 4-5GHz with minimal cooling.
Helps run games flawlessly
Intel makes a stronger product than its competition
High benchmark scores

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Unless AMD releases something absolute incredible - and even then - I don't think I would ever buy an AMD chipped product again. Intel all the way and ever PC I have ever owned had an AMD chip inside.

I believe I received what some refer to as the golden CPU because with the Asus X79 Deluxe MOBO you are able to overclock to 6GHz with an adequate cooling system. Don't try this at home ;)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for overclocking.

Pros: Runs very stable at 4300 on a ASUS Black Rampage. Tried the 4500 but would eventually become unstable and then would have to revert back to the 4300. In gaming I find that is all I need.

Cons: none so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Purchased and built my rig in November of 2013. Been a beast of a CPU. Uses about 50% of CPU on Watch Dogs. I am sure it would have a higher usage but the GPU usage is around 90-99% on my GTX 670. Haven't had any FPS drops in Watch Dogs at all with my setup. It is a beast of a CPU and has crushed all games I have thrown at it. I would definitely recommend purchasing for a gaming PC.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Asus sabertooth x79
Samsung Pro 256gb ssd, 128gb ssd
GTX 670
G.Skill Ripjaw Z series DDR3 at 1866
i7-4820k cooled on air with Noctua NH-D14

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Stays very cool in my liquid build. Seems more stable than the AMD processor I had (duh). Ran smoothly even under full load.

Cons: Doesn't come with a cooler, but that's clearly stated so no egg dock.

Other Thoughts: I did dock an egg for two reasons:
1) I feel like for it's price it isn't really much of a deal.
2) I don't like giving 5 eggs for something that didn't pleasantly surprise me.

5 out of 5 eggsi7 4820k @ 4.65

Pros: Had this chip now for 3 months, running it on asrock extreme 6. using a Mozart Tx case with cpu Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO After playing with clocking setting this chip is a beast!!! It"s been very easy to run it at 4.65 with 1.344 volts, also been able to run at 4.85 with 1.45 volts and i have pushed it to 5.0 with 1.485 volts.
Windows rates the processor at 7.8,but clocked at 4.85 windows gives it 7.9.
Benchmark "test"
clock @ 4.85
560 ti sli on 3d mark 06 37772
ati 6970 single card 3d mark 06 32804
Pass Mark test cpu went from 9,891 to 13,883
I find this chip to run great a 4.65 using bclk strap mode set 125(125.7x37) @ 1.344 volts with CPU Temp at 34c and no need to push it any futher.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Went from a asus 790i with xeon e5450 @ 4.050 clock only difference i see is mostly benchmark scores, very little gaming difference
