5 out of 5 eggsGood enough

Pros: Upgrading from an old 1.8 ghz intel cpu. Hoping to do some basic gaming will write back once it arrives.

Cons: I paid for rush processing and 2 day shipping on Monday will not be receiving it till Thursday what a waste of money

4 out of 5 eggsGood CPU

Pros: Its good processor, it will outrun pretty much outrun any entry AMD cpu. I am using it for a month now and this CPU hasn't let me down yet.. It has a good performance and keeps up in all the games I have played.. I would keep this CPU because I like it so much, I would rather pass on upgrading it.. *thumbs*

Cons: No cons yet...

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Heat sink is good, best price to performance Intel CPU that i know of

Cons: Non other than it isn't overclock-able, not that it needs it

Other Thoughts: Hyper threading, 3.4 GHz, ECC support... can this get any better for the price? i think not

5 out of 5 eggsCheap & Effective

Pros: Low wattage
Decent power
Stays cool
Stable

Cons: Considering the reason I bought it for, there are no cons.

Other Thoughts: This is not a K model, so it shouldn't be able to support any "automatic" overclocking. It must be done manually.

Anyways, I didn't test this to the extent I would with an advanced gaming processor, as I bought it strictly for the purpose of testing other equipment. A necessary expense for testing LGA 2011 boards.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good, reasonably priced jump into current hardware. Casual gamer, haven't found anything I can't run yet, and after using cheap laptops for a few years a real desktop build even with a budget minded processor feels pretty fantastic to me.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsSnappy, fast, efficient CPU

Pros: Great graphics for flawless youtube playback, quick web page rendering. Intel speed step is great, whole system uses only 12W DC in idle. Here is detailed power load breakdown with Gigabyte GA-H81TN thin mini-ITX board, SSD, no fan, no HDD:

Idle: 12W
H.264 1080P: 16W (~10% CPU)
Youtube 1080p: 18W
At BIOS screen: 30W (no speed step, i guess)
At 100% load: 46W
(power measured at 19.5V DC jack, not at the wall)

Cons: Runs hot internally under full load, even if heat sink is cold. This is well known issue with Haswell CPUs. Overclockers take note. I got 65C under full load. At idle it stays few degrees above room temp (20 - 22C).

Other Thoughts: Great gen purpose CPU. Laptop-like energy consumption at low load with desktop performance when needed.
