5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job!

Pros: low power, fast, cheap, reliable.

Cons: I bought this in 2013 and never once had a problem with it. for my use it never broke 70 degrees on stock cooler. Used in the first PC i ever built, i still have it and works like new.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for gaming too

Pros: -Excellent value, runs cool and stable
- Paired with a GTX 950 I can run ARMA 3 Ultra settings at 35-50fps, Civ 5 Ultra at 65fps, and all of the new Combat Mission games flawlessly, even on huge maps. These are amazing accomplishments for this budget CPU.
- Don't listen to other reviews. 95% of games don't use more than one core yet.

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: - If you're going to get this, you may as well get a G3258 for another $20 and try to overclock it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Great value and works for any day-to-day application such as office work or watching streaming video, or browsing the web. Mid-level gaming it works fine too. I played Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City with this CPU just fine. Fallout 4 killed this CPU though. The game graphics were too much for it. I ordered an i7 4Ghz and a better video card for that.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Powerful performance per core for price.

It has not let me down, in fact it has exceeded my expectations.

Passed all benchmarks well.

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: great for budget media/gaming build.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: works fine
no problems
really good performance for the money
pretty cheap

Cons: you probably won't be running the witcher 3 at max settings 60fps with this, but for the low price what do you expect?

Other Thoughts: i found myself playing games fairly well that had a minimum requirement of an i5, although i will be upgrading soon this chip as been extremely reliable and quite nice, although at the same time it might be worth it to save just a little bit longer for a better chip

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: Inexpensive, gets the job done. Is able to drive a 1080p monitors with the iGPU and play netflix. Works fine running basic applications like Word and Chrome.

Cons: Bear in mind what you're buying here. This is an inexpensive non-hyperthreaded dual-core CPU. Thread-intensive tasks will lock this up or not run at all. Expect better single-core performance than similarly priced AMD offerings, but worse multi-thread performance. This won't be able to seriously run games other than like, League of Legends or other lightweight games.

Other Thoughts: Paired with a cheap discrete GPU this might make an okay gaming PC for light stuff, but again, don't expect much. This CPU punches above its weight, but it's still not meant to play with the big dogs.

5 out of 5 eggsStorage Server Chip

Pros: Efficient, low cost

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I am using this CPU in my home storage server. It works perfectly well in a Supermicro server motherboard and supports ECC memory as well. I am running a ZFS storage array with 4 drives and this CPU has no trouble handling the software RAID while keeping the power usage down.

5 out of 5 eggsSecond review

Pros: -720p ,1080p Youtube
-fast, good
-renders some videos on sony vegas, not to long for dual core.

Cons: this is only a con if you are a gamer and can spend more money. this is a great chip but i recommend you go with 4 cores as this one is only duel (2) core. I came back to right a second review just to put it out there that this chip will not be able to play a lot of new games, tried it on dragon age inquisition, fifa 15, witcher 3 and some others. If you dont want to be blocked by this fact at this time I recommend you spend 50-100$ more and get a better 4 core processor. But I still love the chip because I have used it for over a year, and can play most games paired with my 750 ti.

Other Thoughts: happy with purchase, was meant to kill time and work until i can upgrade to a gaming cpu.

5 out of 5 eggsEntry-Level Haswell

Pros: -Affordable
-Integrated Graphics
-Ready to go

Cons: This isn't really a con but when I first put my build together and booted up the cooler was making a lot of noise. Opened the case and noticed that one of the fans wires was making contact with a fan blade. Make sure the cable isn't making contact and you are good to go

Other Thoughts: Thought I'd do a review since I found myself shopping for the successor to my Pentium. I bought the Pentium at the time as an entry-level Haswell proc in an HTPC build that I planned to slowly upgrade into a mid to high level PC. I have been really impressed with the value I've squeezed (and could continue to squeeze if needed) out of it. I started with just mobo, 4gb ddr3 1333, 1TB mechanical hard drive, and this processor with stock cooler. Used it for streaming video mainly, web-browsing, and light gaming. The on-board graphics is actually capable in it's own right if you are playing older games. I never tried anything seriously modern on it because,'s on board graphics haha Since my purchase I've added an additional 4gb of ram bringing my total to 8gb, a blu-ray drive, and a 1gb GT 740. I own too many games to really go through and test them all but it seems to handle everything I throw at it maxed out on 1080p with the exception of anti-aliasing in some of the more modern games. Examples of games I play are Fallout 3/New Vegas, PAYDAY 2, Fable Anniversary, SIM CITY, Tropico 5, NBA 2k15, Max Payne 3, GTA IV, etc. Games that are more processor bound like modern strategy games with lots of units on screen as well as detail are the only ones that seem to slow it down but can't knock an egg for that!

Basically, I bought this processor expecting to mainly use it for my HTPC and found out how far it can really push my games. The ONLY reason I am upgrading my processor is because I am now running dual displays. When I try to stream/watch HD videos as well as game, run background programs, etc. performance can stutter but it's to be expected. If you are not playing NEW/graphic intensive games, multi-tasking, multi-display or using programs that utilize more then one core you can not go wrong using this processor as a starting point.

Current build:
-8gb G.Skill Ripjaws 1333
-AsRock B85M Pro4 LGA 1150
-Nvidia GeForce GT 740 1gb GDDR5 128-bit
-Intel G3220
-2x1TB WD Blue WD10EZEX

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: Entry level 1150 proc at less than $60 bucks. Runs cool with no heat issues (used to have a house fan running over my old LGA 775 board). A few weeks in and not a glitch to speak of.

Cons: None yet. It's done everything I've asked of it so far.

Other Thoughts: The Intel installation booklet that comes with it is laughable. There are literally no real written instructions; just illustrations and a link to the Intel site.
