4 out of 5 eggsThis is probably the highest performing Intel CPU at this price point.

Pros: Fast
easy installation.

Cons: Doesn't overclock, but i'm not really into overclocking because i think the performance increase doesn't warrant the strain, and i've heard far too many horror stories about burned chips. Wait, is this still a con?

I actually had some trouble with the fan. The cord coils around the outside of the fan and plugs into the MB, which was fine, but when i started it up, i heard some racket. Took me a minute to realize the fan was hitting the wire. I uncoiled it from around the fan and tie wrapped it up nice and neat, but it annoyed me that it didn't coil properly without hitting the fan nipping the wire.

Other Thoughts: I think next build i may try an AMD processor. Price point vs performance, i think AMD can beat intel. A lot of what you're paying for here is the brand name. Not to say it's not a great processor, it is, but i think a similar processor might save you $50 to $75 on the AMD side. Search for some benchmark tests and decide for yourself.

3 out of 5 eggsFast and Stable

Pros: It's fast and stable, what more can I say, I like it.

Cons: Fan is for the garbage bin...... really intel? Can't run any decent stress test unless you want the cpu to shut down. For the price a much better fan should have been supplied.

Other Thoughts: It's a great cpu. Reliably fast and stable. Not exactly sure where an i7 would be noticeably faster. I'm sure it would be in some major repetitive tasks for business, but for everyone else, you can't go wrong with this one.

5 out of 5 eggsFast & Cold

Pros: Faster than anything I have ever had. Integrated is great for most people or until you can afford a video card if needed. Runs cold as ice. Stable, solid and fast.

Cons: Price.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat processer - Horrible Cooling fan

Pros: This CPU is fast and works like a champion with my Adobe illustrator & Photoshop items. So much faster than old PC with Intel Q6600 Quad core. (Purchased it in 2006).
The new set up works great!
MOBO - ASUS Z97-A
GPU - ASUS R9-280 3GB
PSU - Corsair AX760 Platinum
RAM - HyperX Fury 16gb DDR3 1866
SSD - HyperX 240gb (Primary)
HD - (2) WD Black 1tb
Cooler Master HAF 912 (SUCKS)

Cons: CPU Fan is LOUD and does not cool very well. Now I have to buy another fan.
I have the i7-4770K in my gaming system with stock fan and it is quiet and keeps it at appropriate temps when gaming. I planned to upgrade but did not need to.

Other Thoughts: Intel - Keep the fan and let the consumer purchase their own if you are going to provide junk with this CPU! If the K version has a better fan, I would have purchased it so I would not have to buy something else.
You fooled me after I had success with the i7-4770K stock fan.

5 out of 5 eggsVery capable, feature-rich processor

Pros: This is a very capable, feature-rich processor. It gets a lot of work done, while using very sophisticated power and thermal management behind the scenes.

The integrated graphics are actually quite good, though they won't satisfy a gamer.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This is NOT an unlocked processor. If you want to dabble with overclockng, get the 'K' version.

The included HSF (heat sink fan) cooling solution is not as effective as most aftermarket upgrades.

I'm very satisfied with this processor, which I am using on an Asus Z97-A mobo, with a Deepcool Frostwin V2 cooler and Arctic MX-4 thermal paste installed in a Fractal Define R4 case.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING PROCESSOR

Pros: It certaintly isn't an i7 or any of the newest i5's but this CPU certainly does the job. The turbo performance really does the job for high performance jobs. My system specs are:
Motherboard- asus rog maximus vii hero.

OS - Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

Processor- intel core i5-4690k (3.5 ghz, turbo boost 3.9ghz)

Ram- g. Skill F3 model 2x2gb (DDR3 240pin)

psu- firepower fatal1ty (550w 80 plus semi-modular)

Hard drive- WD black series 1003FZXE (1TB 7200 RPM 6MB cache, 6gb sata)

Monitor- asus 22'' (5ms response time, IPS panel, LED back lit,)

Keyboard - corsair vengeance k70 (cherry mx brown mechanical red LED)

Mouse- corsair raptor M45

Asus front base gaming panel (for fan controll, temp, and rpm speed redings, as well as auto ocer clocking by button press)

Case- NZXT source 210-s210-001(atx mid tower, ABS plastic and Black SECC steal)

Fans(4x)- corsair Air seriew CO-90 ( red led 120 mm 1500 RPM)

Cons: None to be found.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This thing is a godsend. Upgrading from a Pentium 4 (extremely old) and an AMD C-60 laptop (great laptop but 1 GHz dual per core, became out of date by 2013) This processor has been an amazing upgrade, being the best mid range Intel precessing for gaming.

Cons: There are cons to this?

4 out of 5 eggsIntel CPU

Pros: Very updated CPU with a high GHz. Very usable, and nicely made.

Cons: The CPU Cooler that it comes with isn't very good at all. The blue package it comes in seems to hold the processor not very tightly.

Other Thoughts: Great processor, but the CPU Cooler is terrible.
