5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU For the money

Pros: This CPU was the best one that i have bought in the past 5 years, It is Fast and It usually Runs pretty low for me within the High 50's and Low 60's While maxing out games such as BF4 and Dayz. The CPU can handle a great deal Allows me to stream at 1080p With out an Issue and while streaming i barely break 20% CPU Power, Im not a big overclocker so the 4690 was the one i went with instead of a 4670k

Cons: I havent found any cons So far

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this CPU It has a great price tag for the performance that you will be getting.

5 out of 5 eggsFast Chip

Pros: Runs smooth, maxed out the only two games I've tried so far (World of Warcraft and Skyrim).

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Can't put this as a con for I have read a lot of reviews before my purchase. Like others have said the stock fan is garbage. I've stopped running games at max for the time being. Low settings help keep it in the low 50s, but maxed out I'm hitting high 70s to 80s.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Stunning

Pros: It overclocks like you would not believe. All joking aside, this processor is a very good mid-range CPU. The stock HSF is sufficient since no overclocking will be done.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Honestly the stock HSF leaves a bit to be desired. Still not enough to knock an egg.

5 out of 5 eggsFAST!

Pros: This processor is fast!

Stays under 60C playing games in Ultra settings even with just the stock cooler.

Cons: Only possible con is that the FX8350 costs considerably less.. (on sale for $160 right now while 4690 was $210 at purchase).

Other Thoughts: This processor is great.

Installed Windows 7 x64 while I had to move my car to the other side of the street.

No hiccups from any programs or alt-tabbing between them.

Using just a GTX460 I still get 80fps on Ultra settings in WoW. I'll finally get to try some others as well.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Power

Pros: Like I said... solid power
Great CPU for gaming when not looking to overclock (3.9 turbo is pretty dang good)
Amazing performance with minimal energy consumption

Cons: Stock cooler is weak, but it should be comon knowledge at this level that you should be using a better cooler

Other Thoughts: No overclocking, but we all knew that going in, as it is a non K version (Intel loves to charge that extra premium for their K versions).

5 out of 5 eggsSturdy CPU

Pros: Unless you're looking to overclock, it's really fast and reliable. I've had no problems.

Cons: If you want to overclock, it's not a K processor, so it's not really good for that.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazingly Fast

Pros: Upgrading from a AMD 4170, what can I say this gave me 20 more frames or more in all of my games with my GTX 770. It finally feels like I'm a gamer. This CPU is built tough and thats what you would expect from Intel. I felt that my AMD was lagging behind a lot. Expensive but its worth every dollar over current AMDs.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: * Didn't want to wait till June 25th for the release of the Devils Canyon, unlocked version i5 - 4690k. Would not recommend to anyone that is a non gamer, I would stick with AMD this has too much power to be used for anything less then max settings gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent refresh line. Good for what most need

Pros: Runs well, runs fast and runs cool with a mid range CPU cooler. It has given me no problems and was easy to install.

Cons: No overclocking potential but that's not why I got it so it doesn't make that much of a difference to me. I wish the i7 was more affordable, the hyper-threading does make a difference if you do any rendering or video editing, and this i5 unfortunately doesn't have such a thing.

Other Thoughts: If you want the best CPU for high end gaming and don't feel the need to overclock for an extra 3fps in your games or need hyperthreading for other applications then you can find no better CPU than this. It comes in a little cheaper than the last gen cores with an extra base 100hz clock speed and seems to run a little cooler from experience. This is exactly what I needed for building a fresh rig.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Processor; Terrible Cooler

Pros: Runs well and handles everything that I've thrown at it gaming so far. Turbo mode has kicked in as needed and provides a nice little speed boost.

Cons: The stock cooling solution for this was terrible. Gaming pulled temperatures into the high 80s and stress testing hit 100 where the processor started to throttle back to reduce temps. Experienced this with the cooling as purchased and again after cleaning and refitting the fan with Arctic Silver.

I picked up the CoolerMaster Evo 212 and stress testing temps are now staying below 70 with gaming temps well under that.

Other Thoughts: I'm happy with the performance of the processor and expect that it will handle all of my needs just fine.

My frustration comes from the need to purchase an after market cooler to make it operate at a temperature that I've comfortable with. If I'd known that I was going to have to purchase additional cooling anyway, I would have bought the 4670k as they were the same price when I ordered. The option to overclock would have been worth the minor drop in stock speed.

5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: Coming from a Phenom II 1055T, this i5 feels so much faster and snappier. Runs cool and the stock fan isn't half bad. Pretty quite under normal loads.

Cons: None, worth every penny.
