5 out of 5 eggsGreat Chip for a Great Price

Pros: Decided to make the switch from AMD after years of extreme cpu budget making. Got chip on a deal from newegg.
Runs cool. Have a Nepton 120xl with only 1 fan mounted. Idles at 25C and maxes at 44C on prime95 for 12 hours.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Have not tried the integrated graphics but its a plus that its there.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great processor for the price. Works great, turbo speeds up to 3.7 GHz. Haven't had any problems so far.

Great price point for somebody looking for a quality processor that can handle games but who doesn't need/want to overclock.

Cons: Not a fan of the snap in stock cooler. The cooler itself holds up fine, but the snaps were difficult to handle without feeling like I was putting too much pressure on the board. But I'm not going to drop an egg for a processor over the stock cooler.

Other Thoughts: Used this for my first build, works great with the other components:

ASRock H97 Pro 4 Mobo
G.Skill Ripjaw 2x4GB
EVGA GTX96 4GB
Corsair CX500 80+ Bronze
WD Blue 1TB

Would absolutely buy again.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: fast, fast, fast. Great processor for converting home movies. I dont do gaming so this was well worth the money for what I am using it for. A big step up from a single core intel processor that I had for over 12 years in my last computer rebuild.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

Pros: Installed easily and haven't had any issues with it. Seems to be a fast processor and multitasks well. Using the integrated graphics to play minecraft. Getting 60 fps on a 1440x900 resolution monitor. Will be getting a discrete gpu soon to play newer games. On performance test 8.0 it scored a 7531 with 8gb of 1333mhz ram and a 7460 with 4gb of 1333mhz ram. I used the ASRock H97M Pro4 motherboard.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was undecided on what to buy at first. Couldn't decide if I wanted to go with amd or intel. Once i priced the parts for a matx build in amd's am3+ & fm2+ socket vs the intel 1150 socket with the 4590 it was about the same. The intel motherboards had newer features than the am3+ socket and I could only find one am3+ matx motherboard. I can always upgrade to an i7 when i need more cpu power.

5 out of 5 eggsQuite Unexpected!

Pros: Due to my little knowledge of overclocking, I decided to go with this instead of the 4690k. The performance surprised me when I was able to play all my games (cpu intensive) without a problem and was able to multi-task while doing so. Also or some rare occasions I stream and it is able to handle it!

Cons: None yet!

5 out of 5 eggsSo glad I got it!

Pros: So Fast!!
Low power usage
Easy to install.

Stays 37-39C when browsing internet, ups to 45C when playing games.

Cons: Price? But it really isn't that bad.
Wasn't impressed with the snap in cooler method, but seems an Intel system in general.

Other Thoughts: I was using an old Athlon II X2 270 because it's almost as fast as the AM3+ CPUs, just with two cores. I mostly run single thread programs so I didn't see a point in upgrading, but I needed a faster CPU.

Finally I did some reasearch, found what socket would run an i7 then got the cheapest quad core that fit in that socket. $45 motherboard with a $180 CPU that is much faster than anything AMD has and cheaper.

2 out of 5 eggsBe careful.

Pros: None. I'm giving two stars for their Linux support; otherwise, it would be one.

Cons: Cannot be overclocked since it is intentionally hobbled by Intel. Make sure to by "k" series processors if you want full functionality. I only bought it because it was part of a Newegg bundle. Paired with the bundle mobo, it is terribly unstable. After testing everything for over a week, I believe the instability is due to the mobo.

Other Thoughts: I was warned to never by a Newegg bundle, but I didn't listen. When shopping for processors, be double extra careful before you by since processors are not refundable.

5 out of 5 eggsBang for the buck

Pros: Inexpensive for the performance. Keeps up with everything I need and was almost half the cost of most other CPUs.

Cons: None as of yet.

Other Thoughts: Solid CPU. Good performance, low temps, high speeds. I will probably be getting more in the future.
