5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: Performs MUCH better than I expected from an i3 in my new gaming rig. No real noticeable issues.

Cons: Haven't noticed any issues as of yet.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this CPU to anyone on a budget.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for a dual core CPU!

Pros: Very impressive for a dual core CPU. Fast and with hyperthreading!

Cons: Non so far.

Other Thoughts: Built a comp for a friend, for just surfing the internet & email. This i3-4360, more than fits the bill.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Great little CPU. This CPU will outperform most entry level i5 chips while keeping the price down.

Cons: No vPro technology. This is not a problem for most people, but there are some great little WoL options for vPro enabled chips.

Other Thoughts: This is a great chip for those who just want a computer to perform basic-ish tasks (browsing web, programming, watching movies).

5 out of 5 eggsI3 4360

Pros: Low power consumption, when doing basic tasks I’m using 50-70 watts with my 8350 I was using 120-150 watts doing the same tasks.
Performance, this is a dual core? Who would know if you didn’t look at the specs?
Using my benchmarks it performs like a FX 4350 when multitasking and like an I5 when you use single threaded apps. I tested this CPU in chess and several others and saw the same results.
Never went above 72C using the stock cooler which is actually quiet, even more so when you compare the heat-sink to Amd ones
Happy to switch over to Intel

Cons: Only a dual core come on Intel give us a tri-core with HT and make it the new I3!

Other Thoughts: Note this is coming from a long time Amd fanboy, I’m someone who would have never changed.
Only a dual core with HT? When I first upgraded from a 990fx platform with an 8350 to this I thought I was going to see a decrease in performance. I was mistaken I noticed an increase in boot up times as well as shutdown times. Not only that but all my games started to perform better compared to my last build something I didn’t expect and it speaks volumes about Amd’s lack of single core performance.
I tried 14 games all of which performed better on this cheaper CPU. Not only that but my board is the Asrock H97M Pro4 and its cheap (80$) my last board was a sabertooth 990fx. Intel is now better for gamers for performance per dollar unless you don’t mind micro stutter. Even watch dogs which had higher FPS on average with an 8350 had WAY less micro stutter using this CPU with a 770gtx.
Also newer games still performed better on this CPU including dying light, Far cry 4
For basic use I multitask a little with a video running and a few tabs open using chrome and it feels the same as the 8350, everything loads extremely fast, never feel like the CPU is bottlenecking my experience anymore or any less than the 8350.
I must say however the FX 8350 was faster at loading my games just not better at playing them, I’m not sure but my games load slower with this CPU and board(the only upgrade I did everything else is the same).
Last but not least I only bought this CPU to tide me over until I can afford the I7 4790K which I should be able to get in March. Have to say I’m only getting it to get it I don’t need it.

5 out of 5 eggsAbout the included heatsink.

Pros: In a previous review, I said I should dock it a star for the barely adequate heatsink that is included with this processor.

The heatsink that came with my processor is an Intel E97379-001, and it's made by Foxconn. Nidec and Delta also make the same heatsinks with the same part number. It is all aluminum, and the combined fan and heatsink weight is 178 grams.

Intel also has part number E97378-001. I got a brand new one on Fleabay for $7.50 shipped. It was made by Delta, and it has the copper core insert. Its combined weight is 240 grams. Guess what? The Delta that is better made and has better cooling came from an Intel Pentium G3258, and it's only a $70 processor not on sale.

Both heatsinks were weighed on highly accurate postal scales. My scales always match up to my local post office scales, so I know for a fact the weight of the heatsinks is very accurate.

The Haswell 4th generation idle cool, but when they get to cranking they get hot really fast...and I mean instantly like seconds.
The cpu is not soldered to the heat spreader. At least on the refresh of Haswell, which includes the i3-4360, they did upgrade the thermal material under the heat spreader.

Come on Intel. I paid good money for a very good processor, and I get the bottom of the bin heatsink. Just getting the facts out there about what's what.

Cons: na

4 out of 5 eggsNice cost effective processor

Pros: I am blown away by how quick this thing is, makes the I7 I use at work look like a Pile. Got this for a gift to my dad and he should love this for years to come. Can't wait to get one of the new I7's for me.

Cons: No cons thus far

5 out of 5 eggsIt's fast.

Pros: Not much I can add that can be read in numerous reviews all over the web.

Cons: I really should deduct one star for the poor performing stock heatsink that comes with this processor. Intel should at the very least provide the copper core stock heatsink that comes with a core i5.

The Intel stock heatsink works just fine for general computing, but run Prime95 stress test, and the package temperature went over 72C in round about 30 seconds. Intel specs max temp at 72C. Fan on the Intel heatsink was making a lot of noise, but it just can't handle the heat.

Bought a Cooler Master Hyper TX3, and will install it when it gets here. I am certain a simple Prime95 stress test will be able to run without going over 72C.

Other Thoughts: Other than the not enough heatsink, I really like this processor if one can get it on sale.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING....

Pros: I purchased this for a build for my son. I bought Identical everything except for the CPU for new gaming rigs for me and my son. I purchased myself an i5-4690. This little 4360 spanks my chip in all gaming applications by an average of 15 FPS and loads the same games even faster. Windows 7 index i5 -7.6 i3- 7.5 if you are on a budget. This thing is amazing.

Cons: None... wish I would have bought myself one..

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte Sniper H97
XFX R280
2X4 Gig Gskill Sniper 1600
Intel 240g SSD 7 series
