5 out of 5 eggsawsome

Pros: Fast and and easy. i put this in an ASROCK p45x3deluxe and this non server board found it without a hitch.

Cons: Price.... you could buy an i7 for the same money....

Other Thoughts: great CPU for the money and runs cool 48c on ful load and OC'ed to 3.25 did go to 3.4 but the gskill ram i bought wont do its 1600MHz as advertised so i had to detune ram to get to 3.4..... bumped the ram to about 1400 and now sitting at 3.25.... buy good ram if u intend to OC

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Multitasker

Pros: Excellent overall performance, barely slows when launching applications, perfect for those who multitask for a living

Cons: I have read cons concerning the fan and heatsink. I ordered a Zalman CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink combination and installed it during the build. I have had zero heat concerns, and the combo is very quiet.

Other Thoughts: This proc is quite the performer for the money. I typically run several applications simultaneously, and my PC is very responsive. Among the apps always running: iTunes, Google Earth, DVD Decrypter, Firefox, Photoshop CS3. All of this running on a Windows 7 64-bit backbone. My MB is the Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard. In my opinion (and take that for what it is) this is a very good match. The RAM on the board is Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PVS34G1333LLK x2 for a total of 8 GB of RAM. Phenomenal combination, if you ask me.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the Investment

Pros: 12MB cache, 1333Mhz FSB(mine runs at 1600mhz), SSE4 and multiplier at 8.5. All of these add up to better performance than the X3320 which this replaced.

Cons: Fan is smaller and LOUDER! It is probably smaller because the chip is cooler, bu still... Was not about $250!

Other Thoughts: At first I had a problem OCing this, but then I ran it at stock first, then OC'd it. I OC'd it before I ran it at stock first.

I did not totally need a new chip, but now dealing with HD, I needed something with a little more bite. I did not want, nor did I feel the need for the icore7 so I went with almost the best available for 775.

Of course there were speed improvements - big time! There were also video improvements, but in a sense, the video looked a little more detailed than I would like, but I am used to it now. Video rendering (OC'd to 3.4Ghz, stock voltage and fan) was clearly faster as is everything!

This was a good choice. I would advise everyone to hold off on an icore7 until it comes in cores of eight. Just get the best chip for your socket. I sold my X3320 for $150, so it was not too bad. No problem with this so far...

5 out of 5 eggsHome Workstation/PC

Pros: The Xeon is defenatly the way to go. I have it O/C to 3.4 with no voltage increrase and on air. Runs cool around 42c working and 30c idle (email, web ect.) by the Motherboard monitor. See below. This CPU is way fast and runs ProE and Solidworks great!

Cons: The core temps read way different than the motherboard reports, 70c working and 55c idle.

I received a C1, not a E0. But runs like a champ.

Other Thoughts: My system:
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P
Intel X3360 o/c 3.4
Gigabyte GV-R485ZL-512H
Corsair 8gb 4x2gb DDR2-800
Seagate 500gb 2x Raid0

As always Newegg is awsome!!!

5 out of 5 eggsBEAST!!!!

Pros: Okay...this was going into a small business server build, and I wanted it to be capable of handling multiple TCP/IP & svchost requests. It has gone above and beyond my expectations. Very fast and cool. Installed with an Arctic Cooling HSF & A.S. 5 thermal paste. Very impressed.

Cons: Well....I guess I would have liked a Core i7, but it hasn't ventured into the server realm full fledged yet.

Other Thoughts: If you are considering the Q9400/Q9500 series or this for a server build, go this route. Intel made these especially for highly utilized TCP/IP I/O requests.

5 out of 5 eggs1U ASUS Server

Pros: This CPU is basically the pinnacle of what you will find for a LGA 775 socket.

I placed this CPU in a ASUS RS100-E5. It's a 1u server with a small heat sink and CPU still stays very cool.

Cons: Few users will actually push this CPU to it's potential.

Other Thoughts: -

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Woah! Amazingly awesome processor. Runs very cool, runs fast, runs epic! I was able to overclock this +1ghz on a stock cooler, with absolutely no sweat at all. Good stuff.

Cons: The heatsink is... small? But I used the older Intel heatsinks and it's good.

Other Thoughts: Wear sunglasses when you open the box. The chip is very shiny and might blind you with its awesomeness.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is quite a steal, considering the price difference between this processor and its non-Xeon equivalent. It's been rock solid, cool, and about twice as fast as my old system. So, I can't complain much. :)

Cons: The stock heatsink seems inadequate.

Other Thoughts: I can't comment on its overclocking capabilities. I'm just more concerned with reliability.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Amazing processor. Takes everything I throw at it. Finally saved up enough to build my own workstation. This thing completely changes the way I use my computer.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Running on a Tyan s5220 board with 8GB RAM. Vista 64. The machine is very fast. I am able to dedicate an entire core and a gig of RAM to a virtual machine I am running, and still not notice any degrade in performance.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome processor

Pros: Fantastic processor, i didnt buy it from the the egg but highly recommend others do.

Cons: Got C1 stepping.

Other Thoughts: If you got an e0 stepping (SLB8X on the box) please indicate here. I may return mine and buy it from newegg!
