5 out of 5 eggsGreat but expensive

Pros: This beast is FAST. It will turbo boost comfortably to 4.7GHz. With Water Cooling/AIO cooling, this thing runs cool. It is low power.

Cons: EXPENSIVE! Compared to a i5-4690K, the real main difference is you are spending $100 for hyper-threading and slightly faster sustained core speeds.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this to replace an aging AMD A8 system. Gaming on an A8 was awful. After building my new system, I have to say that unless AMD redefines the market again (i.e. AMD invented 64 bit architecture and single silicon quad core CPUs) I will not switch back. 5 eggs for performance and total package thermals.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth Every Penny!

Pros: Paired this up with an Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 board and this CPU screams!

It’s worth every penny, get it, you will be uber satisfied!

Cons: None at all!

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than 6th gen processors!

Pros: I get better performance on these chips compared to my performance on an i7-6700k. Does not have errors while calculating prime numbers.

Cons: Expensive! Stock cooler is loud and is bad at cooling!

Other Thoughts: I do not regret my purchase.

2 out of 5 eggsWhy this is overheating?

Pros: performance

Cons: Why is it overheating? when windows defender is running for full scan, it reaches to over 80C. For full load, it reaches to over 90C with
stock cooler. I reseated cooler several times with better paste. No effect.

Other Thoughts: My short research led to common problem of overheating of this cpu. It is not normal if your cpu is operating on high C.
I was shocked that people took overheating for granted.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth the money

Pros: Easy install. Very fast.

Cons: Seems like when I alt tab the frame rate drops to about 15 fps for a short period of time. I have all drivers up to date.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and Faster

Pros: This runs great, easy to overclock on my Gigabyte Black Edition MB.
So far I am running stock at 4.0, and had it stable at 4.6.
Games are smooth.
Runs multiple apps without any problems.
The best bang for the buck.
Mounted in my Define R4 case, with Front door closed, top openings
closed, 2 front and 1 rear 140mm fans and Enermax after market cooler.
Idle temp is 20C.

Cons: None what so ever.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anyone that wants a build that will not be
obsolete in a few years.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat power,Great Heat

Pros: This processor is extremely powerful and quick. I run any game i want with very good Frames. It is probably the best processor for gaming out currently. It offers a great "bang for your buck". I do not see myself upgrading anytime soon.

Cons: As much as iI love the power of this CPU, it's heat makes it near impossible to play any modern games at a responsible temperature. Intel is practically forcing me to buy an aftermarket cooler for this CPU. I run games like Just Cause 3 at an average of 87 degrees Celsius. Which is way too hot. Not only that but, the smart fan technology only hurts the processor. It trys to limit power but ultimately heats up the CPU because it does not allow the heat-sink to do its job.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Work Despite Intel, ASUS, and Nvidia Confirming Compatibility

Pros: Can't say because the two I tried didn't work.

Cons: This CPU doesn't work. I checked the components of my PC such as my motherboard and graphics card and they both sad they're compatible with this CPU (in fact, many people recommend this CPU for the GTX 980 ti). I also checked the Intel site which also said it works with my motherboard. Still, as soon as install the CPU, I get no graphics. I put my old CPU back in and everything works fine. This has turned into a long, frustrating, waste of time.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend this, I wouldn't buy it again, and Intel really needs to confirm that things work before saying they do.
