5 out of 5 eggsDevils Canyon..

Pros: Simply Amazing CPU. Couldn't have asked for a better one in my honest opinion. It will eat anything I can throw at it with the ability to overclock with ease.

Blazing Fast, Cool, efficient and overclocking headroom. With most of Intel's CPU's capping out at 4.5-4.8GHz I hope to put this baby to it's paces eventually but for now, is more then enough.

Cons: 16 lanes of PCI-E but not all that of a biggy.

Other Thoughts: Bought this CPU to replace my i5 760 Quad Core that was overclocked to 4.0, this CPU on stock clocks dominates my older i5. Love it.. Considering the fact I use this in my gaming rig, it does as Intended and is a beast.

3 out of 5 eggsCrumbled Like a Cookie

Pros: This Haswell refresh was designed to provide better overclocks and power consumption over the previous 4590k. A middle of the road version of this should be able to achieve a stable 4.5GHz at 1.2 Volts.
I unfortunately could not.

Cons: I had trouble even achieving 3.5...With a good cooling solution I couldn't even get it stable at 1.3Volts so I had to dial it back.
About a week ago I had my first bluescreen out of.
And just yesterday the CPU completely died abruptly and the computer wouldn't even POST. Intel was nice enough to cooperate and is sending a replacement after a thorough explanation as to how I determined it was a CPU failure.

Other Thoughts: I expected better from intel, especially since this is a refresh I figured all the bugs would have been work out.
I guess quality control was just slacking on this batch. (I purchased mine shortly after they became available to the public)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: will be overclocking this soon.

Cons: stock cooler wont do the trick, went with corsair h110i
miss the contact pins , you felt the chip settle in place with pins, here i though my chip was not in properly

Other Thoughts: went with i5 as supposed toi i7 as i wont be needed hyperthreading

5 out of 5 eggsOverclocks Beautiful

Pros: A decent price for a high end chip. Overclocks beautifully and has a lot of lasting potential.

Cons: The only con to me is the pretty lame graphic of a bmx rider on the cardboard box packaging it came in. It just looks so soft core for a something I think should be 'hardcore' especially with the nickname 'Devil's Canyon'. Basically the box art half sucks.

Other Thoughts: I almost bought the non 'K' model & if I would have lived in regret for years... The overclockability of this chip basically saves you hundreds of dollars.

5 out of 5 eggsFast & Efficient

Pros: Super fast with great thermal redesign
overclocked to 4.6 automatically with the use of a h110 watercooler and ROG UEFI while maintaining an idle of under 30c

opens any app within 2 seconds and chows down on installations 4 times faster than ive ever seen before with dual cores

Cons: NONE
get this chip overclocking is simple and basically automatic nowadays

Other Thoughts: this chip is great and does anything i need it to do get this processor the i7 is overkill might as well get the best i5 on the market instead

5 out of 5 eggsgood processor for the money

Pros: It's a very fast processor, I haven't overclocked it yet but I'm sure with the base temps i'm getting I should have no problem.

Cons: I am not a fan of the design of processors anymore. I liked having pins better you feel it sink into the slot. these surface contacts leave me feeling a bit uneasy

Other Thoughts: The complaint I have is not about the product specifically just the way the line is designed anymore it doesn't feel like it's connected. which makes that first boot a bit scary.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: So far this CPU has been great! Overclocked to 4.2Ghz without needing to do much in the bios at all. I keep it cool with a H100i from Corsair and it hasn't given me any issues

Cons: Stock cooler was lacking, upgraded to H100i

5 out of 5 eggsSpeed Demon!

Pros: Out of the box my chip clocked @ 3.61 ghz (checked with Intel Processor Identification Utility). I've only overclocked it to 3.8 ghz since I still have the stock fan and don't want to overheat the cores. Staying between 78-86 degrees Celsius during a stress test with prime95. However, when gaming the temp peaks at 40 degrees Celcius.

Cons: This isn't really a con, but I recommend switching the heat-sink for a better one if you plan to do any real overclocking. Unless you like spending hundreds of dollars on a new chip.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Performance

Pros: Over-clocking, integrated graphics (with the right mobo), quad performance.

Cons: Minimal thermal paste! There is some applied to the stock fan but so very little. How hard is it to throw a small package in the box? The instructions are extremely basic. So if you are on your first build, do homework. That said, the install is pretty easy.

Other Thoughts: A great CPU. It will uphold it's own and I think it's perfect for anyone working the Windows 7 scheme. As more and more programs/games evolve into multi-threaded this bad boy will age quickly tho. I'd say if you rock windows 8 and maybe will consider 9 when it comes out, look for more cores.
