5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Great CPU works they way it should. I overcloked it to 4.1GHz at 1.13v. The temperature is about 65 degrees with a CM Hyper 212 Evo in a push configuation.

Cons: From what I read people could get way better overclocks than I did, but that is only how lucky you get, and I guess I didn't get lucky.

5 out of 5 eggsTop of the line CPU for gaming

Pros: What more could I say? This CPU will run every game out there easily. Great buy considering I upgraded from an AMD.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat all around CPU

Pros: No need to O/C this CPU as it breezes thru all modern games with ease. Any mid range cooler will keep it below 60 C while at 100%. If you decide to OC then the multiplier is unlocked, so a decent MB will have no problem getting to 4.4/4.5 on Air with good cooling.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This i5 is equal to a i7-3770 in most operations. That is impressive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat processor

Pros: Intel.. and it works? What is there more to say. Works great!

Cons: Runs a little hotter than my previous i5-2500k, with aftermarket liquid cooler runs about 5-8C higher under full load. Same idle temps.

Other Thoughts: purchased this and new mobo week before Skylake was going to be released. Was worried skylake would blow it out of the water! but it doesn't so im happy.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent CPU

Pros: Very good performance, does not get heated as AMD 8 core processor do which leads to high fan noise. Lightening fast disk read/write on SSD drive. Recent convert to Intel from AMD.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Processor

Pros: After basically being forced to upgrade, I was in a dilemma of either waiting a week for skylake or going with the Devil's Canyon. Being as I was able to get the EVGA Z97 Classified for $200 & this CPU & a mild discount, while keeping my still very good ram, the choice was clear. So far this chip overclocks very well, rock solid stable at 4.7Ghz with 1.28v. Though I seem to hit a wall at 4.7, as to get anything stable after that, far more voltage is required. Runs very cool compared to my past 3570k, and closer to temps of the 2500k, which gives me comfort in terms of longevity while overclocked. Performance gain over a 2500k clock for clock depending on the application is between 5-15%.

Cons: If I hadn't been forced to upgrade, real world performance is hardly if at all noticeable over an overclocked 2500k or 3570k.

Other Thoughts: Being as Skylake is officially out, this chip really is not worth investing in unless you're set on keeping your DDR3 & just upgrading from a lower end 1150 CPU. Though you can get some of the high end 1150 motherboards at a fraction of the cost right now! All in all though, this is an excellent processor, just wish Intel would push the envelope on performance a little more, though being as AMD cannot currently compete, they have no reason too sadly :( Until then, we get our 5-10% performance boost from generation to generation.

5 out of 5 eggsi5 Devil's canyon review

Pros: Very fast outta the box and runs very cool on an H100i. Overclocks well (luck of the draw) I managed to get mine to 4.7Ghz on a low (for the speed) Vcore. If you don't have a graphics card yet the integrated can run games at 1080p at low to medium settings.

Cons: Can't think of any really.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is the first cpu I thought of getting for my first build ever. I have it overclocked to 4.1 and it's running stable so far. It was rather easy to oc it.

With an All in one water cooler it stays under 60 C

I am able to stream games easily with this CPU

Cons: My computer turns on randomly but I don't think that's a CPU issue
