5 out of 5 eggsFast! Great Gamer!

Pros: Very fast, great for overclocking, best you can get for a gamer

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Super fast. Had mine overclocked to a mild 4.5GHz in no time! For gaming, you can't ask for a better CPU. i7 is overkill unless you need the extra threads for rendering, server duty, etc, and at that point might as well go X99. For a pure gaming PC and light media server (Plex), this CPU works wonders! Much better than the FX8320 @ 4.4GHz that it replaced!

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible CPU

Pros: What can I say about this thing? It comes in innocuous stock Intel packaging with a stock coaster and fan in the box, also known as the Intel heatsink.
Let it be known that if you want to really push this thing and get your money's worth out of it you WILL need a bigger, beefier heatsink for it. I stuck this in a small, trasnportalbe PC I move with me and slapped a Noctua NH-U9B on it. With little effort this CPU clocked right up to 4.7 GHz.

Cons: Toasty when you overclock it? But I mean, that's what you expect when you overclock your hardware. Just make sure you watch your temps when you start overclocking, because this thing put out alot more heat than I was expecting. Of course, all my old CPU's were always on the bottom end of the 'silicon lottery' so they wouldn't let themselves be pushed to far before blue-screening.

Other Thoughts: Don't forget to make sure you buy a "Z" series motherboard with this in order to overclock!

5 out of 5 eggsgood for games and workstations

Pros: the devils canyon comes niceley packaged and the fan looks ok. this cpu is in the k-series and comes unlocked with some special software to boots it from the starting 3.5 ghz to 3.9. it is fast and handles high loads with ease

Cons: as i said the fan looks ok but the stock fan is just that a stock item not intended to be used for gaming and heavy programs so you will have to have one already or get one

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor

Pros: Even without Overclocking this it will run @ jut under 3.7Ghz if it has a load on it. I used Prime95, intels burn in sw, and some video encoding sw and it just ramped right up to 3.69 on its own. Temp was stable so I just let it go. I always want more but it will be a long while before I actually need any better than this.

Cons: can't think of one.
