5 out of 5 eggsLittle Monster

Pros: I got this due to the reviews that I have seen on this little guy and I was blown away, this mere dual core rips an Athlon ii x4 635 a new one in general computing and in games which do not require a quad.

I tested this compared to the Athlon setup, all settings the same, mobo was changed to accommodate but otherwise the same and here is what I went from and to.

WoW, in the same spot I was getting 44fps and it shot up to 81fps...but when I overclocked this to ONLY 3.8, that went higher by 15fps! Other areas was from 47fps to 100fps!

Dragon Age Inquisition....yes you heard right, this ran right out of the bat, it loads very slowly but once in game it ran in a very playable frame rate, typically no less than 30fps in game and averages 40+, this is on HIGH settings and on 900p, the GPU used was a 768MB GTX 460.
I am currently a few Celsius from 60 when playing WoW, stock cooler and paste, I have a 80mm case fan blowing at it while the temp of the room is typically 70F-72F.
Overclocking it was done on an MSI H81M-P33 board, I just changed the speed and nothing else to hit 3.8, I bet I can do the same for 4.0GHz. This thing when paired with an SSD boots like a speed demon, I am super impressed by Intel on this wolf in sheep's clothing, got it for only $62!
Has the "better" stock cooler which has a copper core that makes contact with the CPU.

Cons: It is ONLY a dual core, it will hit a ceiling very quickly if you want to run multiple programs or very advanced gaming.

Other Thoughts: Steer clear if you are into heavy gaming but you will not be looking at this if you were in the first place, this makes for an EXCELLENT entry and low mid-range gaming computer. If you want to see how good this little thing is, just look it up on your tube, it competes very well in gaming considering the price that it is.

5 out of 5 eggsG3258

Pros: Great processor for the price, I own 3 of these and all are in builds. All of them are overclocked over 4.2ghz and the most used one has yet to break 58C with a Hyper 212 evo while running prime95. If you're building a budget PC gaming pc this isnt a bad choice at all, and it leaves you open for future upgrades with the 1150 socket.

Cons: Only a dual core

Other Thoughts: I bought my first one to learn how to overclock and try to get good at it before I attempted to overclock my i7 4790k down the road if I ever needed to. I highly recommend this processor for any budget build. I have this processor in my wifes gaming build, my steam box project, and my HTPC. I have a few closed loops cooling systems laying around, H100i(Didnt fit in my HAF912 which I have my i7 build in). Maybe Ill try to get up to 4.8ghz like I've seen on some forums.

4 out of 5 eggsIntel G-3258

Pros: This CPU is a Little work Horse, had it for a day Intalled it into a Asrock z97 Pro4 Mother board,Booted right up no problems has over clock Options,Going to get a Better cooler it works fine Unclocked,Soon will have a I5 4690K,For the Price and what it is definitely an Awesome CPU

Cons: Plastic screws on Fan Suck,Make them from brass or steel,Took an Egg off because of that..

Other Thoughts: Get a Z97 Mobo so you don't have to Update Bios,I didn't have to with the Asrock Z97 Pro4 Mobo

5 out of 5 eggsworked out great

Pros: Great cpu for a great price. Unlocked with high potential. Overclocked mine to 4.3 on stock voltage stock cooler and it runs about 55c.

Cons: only a duel core

Other Thoughts: I debated for weeks and researched every cpu on the market to fit my budget. I almost got an fx6300 then a i3.4460. after researching this little guy i couldnt say no. Its a great price got mine for 62. overclockable to 4.5 with evo 212 and its a haswell 1150 so you can upgrade to a i5 later on if you get some extra cash.

I replaced a e6750 and its like 10 times faster.

5 out of 5 eggsPENTIUM G3258! I LIKE IT!

Pros: -Overclocked to 4.0 Ghz on air, nice and stable (as expected).
-Didn't have to touch the voltage (didnt even attempt to overclock it further to be honest, i built if for a computer-illiterate friend and wanted it to be stable and reliable)
-Snappy and responsive for basic needs; paired with an SSD and 8GB DDR3 RAM (I hear it can also be a worthy gamer in many cases, though you'll also need to pair it with a decent graphics card).
-59 degrees under load for 15 mins (Prime95 Small FFT's
-The guy I built it for is happier than a pig in poop

Cons: Nothing, it is exactly as advertised.

Other Thoughts: -I cooled it with a Cooler Master TX3 on an MSI H81M-P33 motherboard in a ROSEWILL RANGER-M case. Yes, the TX3 fits in the RANGER-M no problem!

-Don't spend more on faster ram with a cheap board and this chip, I couldn't run my 1600 Mhz ram faster than 1400 Mhz and with the fully updated BIOS, XMP isn't even an option for some reason. I don't know if a better board could squeeze more out of the RAM with this chip or not (It kept resetting my CPU overclock and not working anyway), as I've only tested this chip on a cheap motherboard but for the record, The Pentium G3258 is designed to run RAM at 1333 Mhz, not any higher, and that is what it will do by default. Instead I tightened up the timings to 8-8-8-24 from 11-11-11-28 and just ran it at 1333 Mhz. Rock solid stability. The RAM in question was a G.SKILL AEGIS 8GB (2x4GB) 1600 Mhz kit. I probably could have pushed it further but I didn't bother trying cause again it was for a friend and i needed to the build to be reliable.

5 out of 5 eggsBeasty Budget CPU

Pros: -Good budget CPU for web browsing and light gaming.
-Monster overclocker, running this thing at 4.2 GHz stable with a cheap $15 heatsink, still has room to overclock.
-Very fast when overclocked

Cons: -None

5 out of 5 eggsbest $60 ever spent

Pros: This is the best Pentium cpu to date
overclocks like a dream, haven't even touched the voltage at 4.2Ghz
Single threaded monster, with single threaded applications it almost paces with my i7
Can't run games? Bull. Crushes through every new game out now, sure you can get a 10-15 fps increase with an i5 or an i7. But you aren't paying for all that here. For $60-$70 this cpu is a monster.

Cons: None, Intel has a winner right here

5 out of 5 eggsIt is Perfect for What I Need

Pros: Unlocked
Overclocks Easily
Quiet and Cool Running

Cons: Only Dual Core ( I knew that when buying it)

Other Thoughts: It worked perfect, I am using it as a secondary light gaming/internet rig at my second house. It works perfectly, paired with a AMD 270x GPU it can handle all the games I want at 1080p no problem.
