5 out of 5 eggsPoor Mans Corvette!

Pros: Just wanna say I've seen the pros and cons of this chip, I watched linus get all butthappy about it, watched people put it down for not playing Dragon age Inquisition(who cares) and no hyperthreading blah blah. so I figured I would try it out myself. I had a Nerdgasm when I overclocked this puppy to 4.5ghz on a seidon 120m. NEVER GOT ABOVE 70C PRIME95 FOR 12 HOURZZZZZZZ. WTHHFFFHF. If you're on the fence about just buying this to toy around with overclocking or whatever its definately worth the fun.

Cons: IT DOESNT HAVE LADYPARTS TO RUB.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: First of all, shipping was excellent, arrived the day after I ordered it. Paired with an MSI h81m-p33 motherboard this processor is perfect for the budget build. second of all, I am actually satisfied with the stock cooler, it keeps it moderately cool even at full load, and it handles mostly everything I throw at it. I haven't tried to overclock yet because I've been pleased so far, but I may in the near future.

Cons: None whatsoever.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Cheap, runs cool on stock cooling.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a hold over chip until my mom needs more power for what she does.
She really only plays WoW, Sims stuff and random online games.
So far this chip really impressed me, I wont be OC'ing this at all in the near future, sure it will be able to get more out of it but I don't see a reason to for what she does.
Stock on a old gts 450 on high she gets a nice even 40-60 fps on world boss/raids in wow, thats good enough to have a good experience to me.
Sure it's not a top end beast mode processor, but it gets the job done.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing budget gaming CPU

Pros: (NOTE THIS IS OVERCLOCKED TO 4GHZ ON A Z97 BOARD) Overall performance is comparable to most AMD quad core cpu's. I have alot experience with specifically the A10 5800k and the FX-4130. Overall the G3258 is faster, especially single core performance. The only time it was slower than the other two outside of gaming was when i was heavily multitasking (rendering on 3ds Max, Streaming Music, dowloading, seeding, and also working in photoshop). But lets get to the important bit, GAMING. I ran all CPU's with a 7970 or a R9 280x (literally the same card, just rebranded). The FPS i got were very close in all games. The G3258 fell behind was in games like Battlefield 4, but only by 7 frames at most. Another big advantage to the G3258 is that it is so cheap and on the 1150 socket. So when you want more perfomance, you can upgrade to a higher end i5 or i7.

Cons: The silicon lottery. Ran at 4.2ghz easily with a 1.2 vcore. But the highest i could get it to go was 4.4ghz, and to even get it stable i had to run with a 1.375 vcore! 1.375v! That is crazy high. But hey, luck of the draw

Other Thoughts: Makes me want a unlocked i3 SUPER bad

5 out of 5 eggswow

Pros: this was going to be just a cheap option before upgrading to an I7 this summer but this little chip is amazing, overclocks extremely well, mine is overclocked at 4.2 and very stable, runs cool with stock cooler but will be transferring my Enermax cooler to drop temps even lower, this is my first Intel in a long time and it shocked me. handles all programs as well as my games on high settings. would buy this again.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a cheap Intel that can handle almost anything you through at it... look no further.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap price NOT reflected in performance!

Pros: *PRICE
*OVERCLOCKS LIKE A MAD MAN
*LOW POWER CONSUMPTION
*LGA 1150 = CAN UPGRADE TO DEVIL'S CANYON WHEN I SELL A KIDNEY! LOL

Cons: *WASNT FREE

Other Thoughts: I bought my G3258 on sale at a rediculously cheap price at that physical location we know and shall remain unnamed... $70 is already a great price, so no complaints at all!
Easily overclocks. And when I say easy, I mean just set the multiplier and stomp the gas because this bad boy was built for just that. Stock 3.2, I keep mine at 4.5 without voltage change, and paired with a CoolerMaster Hyper EVO 212 it stays cool while gaming... which brings me to my next point..
Gaming! While only a dual-core, the G3258 overclocked is on par with an i7 on most games. I mainly play World of Warcraft which isn't as demanding as say BioShock or Battlefield, but it blows the game out of the water paired with my 750ti GPU. Most games use single thread so the lack of hyperthreading is a non-issue as well.
I've heard some people say multi-tasking is an issue, but I have yet to see it. I can have a game, Pandora, Facebook, and GPU/CPU monitoring/tweaking software all going with Windows 7 and I haven't felt compelled to complain.
Overall this was such a great buy. I was very worried as the only other dual-core I have used in the last several years was an AMD that ran locked, hot, and slow.
I will buy again, as well as highly recommend to others.

5 out of 5 eggsEVEN AT 80 BUX THIS CHIP IS A STEAL

Pros: Purchased for my five year old daughter because I was tired of getting burned buying refurbished garbage. Admittedly, after playing with the chip on an ASUS Z97P motherboard it was over kill for a 5 year old but I felt I had to make it up to her for having to return a dud from another company. BUILD IT YOURSELF is the only way to go. This chip runs like snot and now my little girl is a spoiled brat and her sisters are jealous because now she has the gaming chip that runs circles around theirs. :::sigh::: My daughters are gamer girls and I'm the domestic service slave. This is a typical father's role in the family NERD. You cannot fail with this thing. Unless your into extreme gaming and video/graphics rendering this is all you will ever need. It will handle practically anything your throw at it and I might well imagine that if you put a good GPU on board with it you might even get away with a little extreme gaming. I'm totally impressed with this out of the box and not even overclocked it just ate everything I hurled at it without so much as a hiccup.

Cons: wishing I had bought it for myself?

Other Thoughts: UPDATE THE BIOS FIRST... IMMEDIATELY before you do anything else. DO this and you will feel obligated to leave a positive review. Intel really outdid themselves with this chip. Kudos to Intel. WTG!!!

5 out of 5 eggsThe little processor that could

Pros: Running at 4.6ghz with no problems on a 13$ aftermarket cooler (Rosewill RCX-Z300).

Cons: For the price? Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: It was originally for an office pc, but is now being used by a friend of mine for gaming. Overclocked it to 4.6, and slapped an old video card on, and I must say I am thoroughly impressed by the performance. I used to be an AMD guy, but Intel is just really dialing down their engineering.

5 out of 5 eggsSleeper

Pros: Inexpensive, yet in single-threaded applications it performs much like its much more expensive siblings (i3/i5/i7). Easy to overclock when paired with a compatible motherboard (I used the Gigabyte G85M). Runs cool even with the stock heatsink; however, I used Arctic Silver 5 instead of the thick, sloppy stuff that came on the heatsink. With the stock heatsink, it would run at 4.2GHz, but produced errors in Prime95. The CPU seems perfectly content to run at 4.0GHz though! For the price, the performance is hard to beat. Happy 20th anniversary, Pentium! I still remember running the first generation Pentiums -- 60 & 66 MHz -- they were monsters in their day!

Cons: Intel deactivated some of the extra instruction sets, likely so it wouldn't compete directly (at stock speeds) with their more expensive offerings. It is 'only' a Dual Core without Hyperthreading, but I knew that before I purchased it.

Other Thoughts: I'm running this in my wife's OpenSuSE Linux desktop system, which is frequently used by my kids for Steam gaming (War Thunder). I'll soon it have it paired with an Nvidia GTX 750Ti video card, as the G3258's onboard video is NOT up to the task of fast action gaming at 1920x1080 unless you're comfortable with single digit frame rates. :(

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Processor

Pros: Very inexpensive considering the performance. Runs WIndows 7 flawlessly. Plays HD live online videos without stutter or horrible waiting times. For integrated graphics, it runs older games surprisingly well. Web surfing is great, and it even does light multitasking smoothly.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This processor is a huge step up from my 11 year old Pentium 4 in my old system, so anything new is going to be a lot better.
