5 out of 5 eggsGreat value and performance

Pros: Great dual core processor with overclock capabilities.
Excellent for a budget build.
Comes with fan and heat sink

Cons: Only supports up to 1333Mhz ram. If you use anything faster, it's going to adjust the frequency to 1333.

Other Thoughts: I paired this with an Asrock H97M mb thinking that it would overclock, but apparently the new bios drivers on the H97M no longer support overclocking. I could probably go though the hassle to install the old drivers to overclock but have not found that I need it at all. This little dual-core is a beast! I mainly use my PC for writing and occasional gaming. I can run Diablo 3 on high settings without any problems.
For non-overclock budget gaming builds, the i3 4170 is a great option too, and can be found for only $30 more.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap Intel CPU!

Pros: If all you need is a CPU for a basic machine, this is what you want. If you building a computer for someone who is just going to be emailing, web browsing, and streaming, you don't need even need an Intel i3. This will get the job done and then some. I've put this in a few computer builds including a personal one and have not had any issues or complaints. You could even get away with using this in a gaming rig. Granted an i5 would probably be a better choice, but for those on a budget this will do just fine.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsG3258 Overclocking

Pros: OVERCLOCKING ON $70 CPU
LOW TDP! 53W

BEST PRICE FRIENDLY OVERCLOCKABLE CPU!

Cons: -No turbo boost, but overclocking makes up for it
-No HT, but overclocking makes up for it
-Only 2 cores, but overclocking makes up for it

Other Thoughts: DO NOT OVERCLOCK WITH STOCK COOLER!
My case has a front to back airflow with psu at the top and a side vent, when I had it stable at 4.3 GHZ, it was idling at 56 C

Get a third party cooler if any overclocking is involved with your next build

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: This is what I used in my first PC build, and I think I made a great choice.
-Higher single-core performance than many Extreme Edition processors
-Unlocked multiplier
-Runs very cool. I have mine @ 4.5 GHz with a core voltage of 1.272, temps max at ~65-70C ON THE STOCK COOLER.
-Provides a great upgrade path, and this is ultimately what made me choose it over the AMD 860K. You can save up some money and drop anything from another Pentium to a 4790k into the same socket.

Cons: -Dual core, which hurts multitasking ability quite a bit. Games are starting to move away from dual cores (Far Cry 4 for example), which might hinder its capabilities in the future.

Other Thoughts: I got this CPU bundled with the MSI Z97 PC Mate for $100 and change. If you can find a bundle like that, get it. It's one of the best price/performance propositions available. Two CPU generations later, it's still more than capable, especially at this price point, and with the unlocked multiplier.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel g3258 vs AMD 860k

Pros: - Significantly less power consumption
- Almost twice the performance PER CORE
- 3MB cache
- Higher quality stock heat sync (even for over clocking)

Cons: - Lower clock speeds (doesn't matter because per core performance is better)
- Less Cores (less multitasking capabilities)

Other Thoughts: This is the first time I have ordered anything other than AMD, and I will never go back.
This Intel dual core slaughtered my 860k in benchmarks and gaming performance

Loving this processor!!

5 out of 5 eggsNice 2 core CPU, Works great at 3.2 GHz

Pros: Great price, Great performance for the money, Ben marks near 4000 which is pretty good for a 2 core 3.2 GHz

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: The mother board I bought doesn't support over clocking apparently which might be a good thing, most likely will last longer then if i was OC it. I play Elder Scrolls Online and run at all high settings with no problem at all, with 8 meg ram and a cheap/outdated gt 630 niva 4 gid

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget gamer CPU

Pros: High speed for a dual-core and the unlocked multiplier really comes in handy with an aftermarket cooler

Cons: Only two cores, but that's a minor issues for budget gamers

Other Thoughts: Can't wait for the next anniversary edition. This one is a great value.

5 out of 5 eggsA true testament of best bang for the buck

Pros: -Highly inexpensive even for budgets. A 20th Anniversary release so it really was an awesome release.
-Nearly 2 years of use and has held up very well against most of my gaming needs
-Overclocking abilities are outstanding, having a freq as high as 4.0GHz.
-Even with lack of effective cooling fans or heat sink this cpu seems to self sustain all on its own for the most part.
-The Fps is surprisingly high for such a cost effective cpu, especially up against other i5's.

Cons: -Applying certain rigorous gaming settings will be noticeable, i.e Battlefield 4 or occasionally Metro Light will incur lag.
-Overloading of non-gaming applications will incur some processing problems. However, it can handle average to moderate.
-It is only dual-core, but can't complain for the $.

Other Thoughts: Its truly a great cpu for moderate gamers and budget savvy builds. If you look just about any where for reviews, you'll find this one on just about every top 10 list. More pros then cons overall. If I'm ever in the market for a cheap and effective quick build this would be my first choice.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat low power home system

Pros: I am not a gamer. I just need something to run Linux or Windows and a few VM's in Virtualbox. I set this up in an ASUS Pro97 board with 32GB of RAM, Antec 300 case, 512mb SSD, and a Seasonig G360 PS.
Made an awsome system with Linux Mint loaded. Boots in less than 5 seconds, super snappy, and only pulls 30-50W while in use depending on load.

I couldn't be happier for the price!

Cons: An encryption engine would be nice if you need it.
