5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: I like this cheap processor a lot! For a television TV it keeps up with the best of them and bet it will hold up to these types of tasks for years! Paired with an SSD everything boots up and loads super quick. Would recommend for HTPC, office PC, general use machines.

Cons: I thought I could OC with my board and something is preventing that but I doubt it has anything to do with the processor and everything to do with the MSI mobo

4 out of 5 eggsbest dual core

Pros: overclockable.

Cons: only 1333ddr3

Other Thoughts: replaced a g3420 with this in a mythtv server...perfect.

but on a asus h87i-plus(bios 2001) i was able to overclock to 4.0 Ghz stable (1.117) for 8 hours using mprime.
other speeds were not stavle to my liking... too hot, not stable etc.

when a think about it pragmatically it is a great overclock!... 25% better than an g3420.

a grat price for a 4 Ghz processor!

5 out of 5 eggsamazing deal

Pros: with 212+ I hit 4.6ghz stable without voltage bump using a budget board. board was almost free in bundle after rebate (gigabyte b85m-ds3h) with bios update board had no problem overclocking. with Samsung 250gb evo, wife's new computer boots to desktop in about the time it take the monitor to turn on, shuts down instantly.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsNearly the best bank for buck

Pros: Decent clock speed, and cache size
Overclockable even with stock to 4.0ghz
cool tempature
Priced nearly 50 dollars below the cheapest i3, with near like performance(for gaming anyways)
54W
Virtualization support for anything like virtualbox or vmware player
Amazing performance for a 70buck CPU, even comparative to AMD. If you don't need the APU's GPU then this beats most anything in the price range

Cons: No Hyperthreading but this is a Pentium, not sure what you are expecting

Other Thoughts: I don't know why someone would compare this to a flagship highest end CPU, of course something 1/4th the cost won't hold up to it. If your a light-moderate gamer, do office apps, with a touch of virtualization, this is the CPU to get.

Personally I bought this CPU, because I didn't want to fork out 50 more for an entry level i3. My plan is to wait for intel's next refresh cycle or when I can nab an i7 on sale. Until then this will keep me happy

5 out of 5 eggsCheap but great processor

Pros: Very cheap

Cons: Besides the obvious (no HT, only dual core, L# cahce kinda low) none, but that's why it's so cheap!

Other Thoughts: I got this processor as a combo deal expecting to only use it a short while until I could afford a expensive i&...however it plays all of my games at max setting while multitasking no problem. I think I could easily wait until the haswells are phased out entirely before I upgrade! Paired with 16gb ram & a 750ti fyi.

5 out of 5 eggsUndoubtedly the processor bargain of the year

Pros: Coming from a six year old system built around a C2D E8400 processor, this budget CPU amazed me with its performance, even at it's 3.2 gHz default clock speed. When overclocked, it is absolutely a beast in single-threaded games and applications. My 3258 reached 4 gHz at default voltage, and runs no hotter than 53 C under 100% under prime 95 (and that's at 22 C room temp, using a CM Hyper EVO 212 HSF).

Cons: No hyper-threading

Other Thoughts: If you're holding out for a more expensive Haswell i5 or 17 K-series, or even for a Broadwell processor, my advice is that you don't deny yourself. When coupled with even an entry-level Z97-board, this processor will serve as a bridge to those higher-end CPUs. And in the meantime, you'll be able to take advantage of all the Z97 chipset's features

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Unlocked
Cheap
Haswell cores

Cons: No hyperthreading

Other Thoughts: I have mine at 4.5GHz (1.23v) with the ASRock anniversary motherboard and a cooler master hyper 212.

It doesn't have many of the features of higher end intel CPUs, but it's very cheap for an unlocked CPU, so no complaints here.

5 out of 5 eggsExcelent

Pros: I've got mine overclocked to 4.5 Ghz on a manual voltage of 1.299. It will overclock to 4.7 Ghz without problems on stock cooling but it does run quite hot at an punishing voltage of 1.475.

I've been playing Planetside 2 on Ultra and its smooth as butter. I paired this chip with an R9 270, couldn't be happier.

Cons: You can't push this thing to its absolute limit without better cooling, but thats to be expected.

Other Thoughts: If you pair this thing with a board other than z97 then make sure the bios is updated or it won't post. If your board doesn't support updating the bios without a CPU then you'll need to RMA, buy an older CPU, or get someone to help you. I bought an older CPU for $50 that I used for updating the bios and as a backup incase I kill this chip. :)

5 out of 5 eggsCheap gaming

Pros: Very good single/dual thread performance
Overclock-able dual core for under $100
Does not bottle neck most games, I get great FPS with a 760.

Cons: Not for media editors, gets bogged up with heavily threaded workloads.
Same goes for BF4 with a bigger GPU, you'll have some restriction.
No hyperthreading, it would be cool to have that for an extra 20 dollars.

Other Thoughts: I was able to hit 4.6ghz on a z97m-plus. I got an expensive motherboard but I plan on upgrading later on.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for a dual core

Pros: @ the review that rated 1 egg. this processor is $75 and performs as such.

if you wanted a 4790k's performance then buy a 4790k

that being said this thing gives the single threaded performance of the i7 @ also overclocks really well for only $75. you can find a cheap z97 motherboard very easily, and then if you need to in the future, you can upgrade to a much much much faster cpu, which some people see as a pro, not a con lol.

Cons: doesnt cook me dinner.
