5 out of 5 eggsworks

Pros: good price, works at speed and under load, not much more to say about RAM if there's nothing wrong

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every peny!

Pros: haa... think of it as going from turbo-prop into a jet powered airplane!

Cons: The clusters on this drive seem to be underutilized. Somehow your OS alone takes over 8Gb of storage.

Other Thoughts: Before installation, plz get the right format on the drive so you can avoid all of the issues that I am having with drive gets filled way to quickly. It is not due to amount of data that I put on it but due to the low utilization of the available space. Your OS alone can take 8 -10 Gb of space on this drive (fresh install)

4 out of 5 eggsIt shows up as a 800 Mhz !

Pros: Easy to install!

Cons: No matter what I do with BIOS it always shows up as a 800 MHz RAM.

I will have to figure this out since my motherboard does support DDR2 1066 MHz and I have spent money to get that speed.

Other Thoughts: The issue that I am having could be due to the fact that my motherboard only takes speeds 1066 if you are doing O.C of the 800 module.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm glad I can still find decent DDR2

Pros: A little pricey for a 2G but if you have an older motherboard that requires DDR2 you don't have much of a choice, this is one of your best options hands down in terms of performance, availability, and affordability.

Cons: nothing (yet). Kingston RAM has been very reliable for me

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mem

Pros: It's DDR2. In most real-world scenarios, this ram will do just as well as DDR3 if the clock rate is high (+800). Gave new life to an old rig I built ages ago. See other.
Plus, despite the price, 2 of these have performed VERY well under stress loads while gaming. Again, see other.

Cons: none I can see, other than price. Price for DDR2 *should* be low. Then again, if it were ultra low, noone would upgrade to new equipment, and just upgrade their ram to keep a dual core or first gen quad going "strong".
Also, tried to OC with another non-branded "OEM" dual pair of 2x1GB's. Didn't go well, even with minimalistic OC, despite the fact the seperate strips OC marginally well. But, OEM's fault. Not anything on Kingston.

Other Thoughts: Had an old school E8400 and Q8300 Intel sitting in a closet collecting dust. First batch of RAM I bought with it went AWOL, but instead of replacing it I bought a whole new rig; minus case and PSU. Well, it's back in service now as a HTPC/light gamer. 2 of these strips have outdone the 2x1GB strips I had before, by a long shot. Paired with a P5K3 MoBo w/ liquid cooling and 2 nVidia 450's in SLI, I'm perfectly happy with the results. Stable and can game with the best of them on last gen games (med-high for latest gen).
Costs about as much as 8 GB DDR3. But aside from having 2x as many cores (Intel E8400, same for Q8300 vs AMD 945 Phenom II) and the processor stutter, I don't notice much difference. CPU intensive apps see a little/mid difference, but for the most part, if the CPU isn't involved? I see very little. They made benchmarks to show the true colors of any machine, but unless you're doing video editing, photoshop work or extreme RAM intensive work, I doubt you'd notice a thing.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: DDR2 1066 with a CAS of 5 cycles gives out a real world latency of 9.4 nanoseconds. By itself, the module competes very well with current DDR3 memory (averaging between 9.6 to 16.5 nanoseconds). I bought 2 of these modules with my ECS A780GM-A in 2009. Since, they have been working without a hitch. Hopefully, these Kingston HyperX memories will continue to perform well beyond the arrival of DDR4 memory in 2014.

Cons: What can I say, they are serious workhorses. At best, I wish I had bought 4 of them instead of 2 considering how they are pricey now. If I had to be really picky, a fully monochrome (black or blue) heatsink would have made me go for a 6 egg rating.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great in my '08 Compaq!

Pros: This works great in the SR5703WM Compaq!

I got tired of programs freezing so i figured i'd try to upgrade the RAM since i only had 1GB in a 32 bit Windows 7 system and with 3GB, this works wonders in my PC. The system is far more smoother now that i got the recommended memory in it. I don't even need to wait for programs to load anymore, everything overall loads more smoothly and faster then it did when i just had the stock RAM in it.

Cons: Nothing really, the RAM might be a little pricey but worth the buy imo.

Other Thoughts: Once i get my Compaq's processor upgraded to 64bit, i plan on getting the same Kingston memory, but for now one stick is all i needed to increase performance. If your reading this review & you're noticing bad performance on your PC check to see if your 'physical memory' is generally around 70-90% using Windows Task Manager. If it is there you should check the specs on your pc to see if you can upgrade that because while your PC is using your HDD to store extra physical memory, the performance will be highly degraded no matter how fast your HDD might be since you still have to access it for applications & files.

4 out of 5 eggsOne Good One Bad

Pros: Its DDR2 1066 memory. Its not the fastest its not the slowest. It improved my performance paired with phenom IIx6.

Cons: One of the four sticks I bought was bad. Two I bought as a 2x2. The other two I bought 2x1. The latter 2x1 was shipped to me in a large bubble wrap style envelope tossed in with another stick of memory and a cable. Probably not the reason the memory is bad but it is concerning.

Other Thoughts: I would like to know why it cost me less than $7 to have two sticks and a cable shipped from newegg to me. But using Neweggs RMA shipping it will cost me over $10 to ship one stick of ram back to newegg.
