1 out of 5 eggsworked for 6 months

Pros: Is 1066mhz DDR2 - a rare bird

Cons: one stick died after just a few months of use - didn't die outright, just causes my computer to blue screen randomly.

Other Thoughts: i'm going to find out which stick died, i'm sure i can still use the other one, it just sucks getting such a short lifespan for a product.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very reliable for the most part.

Cons: Can't get them to run stable when paired up with OCZ Reaper at 1066. However, each pair runs at 1066 standalone with no problem. Not sure if there is some type of compatability issue.

Other Thoughts: I did have a problem with one of the sticks. Their support department was excellent and they promptly shipped me replacement memory no charge. As far as I'm concerned Kingston stands by their products.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Got on sale a year ago, great deal.

Cons: None (other than the fact DDR2 is so spendy)

Other Thoughts: Put 4 of these in my aging desktop (soon to be replaced). Have a Q9550@3.4GHz stable, 8GB of this ram in a UD3P Gigabyte board. Runs flawless.

You may need to manually set your ram speeds on your motherboard to improve stability if the autoconfig doesn't work.

5 out of 5 eggsNew lap record

Pros: This RAM is close on the best you can get for the price if you are still running DDR2. It's fast, looks cool, and works time and again without fail.

Cons: What cons?

Other Thoughts: I use Kingston HyperX in every machine I build.

5 out of 5 eggsnice memory, but a little pricey

Pros: used this memory to go from 4gigs in my system to 8gigs. Memory works great and passes memtest no problem.

Cons: These sticks are a little finicky when overclocking tho, but didn't really affect me too much. for ddr2 its not really
necessary to be higher than 1066MHz.

Other Thoughts: ddr2 memory is skyrocketing in price, got these a year ago at $60 and thought it was expensive then and now they're $80! however, if you want two good sticks of memory, look no further

5 out of 5 eggsmore memory yay

Pros: This company stands behind their stuff, I've never had a DOA stick from Kingston in 15+ years of ordering their products.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Lower profile than others out there, running a surface temp scan on these shows the head spreaders that come on the unit are doing a very even distributed job, my last set had heat pipes and did a very poor job of spreading the heat. Heat pipes aren't for every application IMO and RAM is one of them.

2 out of 5 eggsMistake

Pros: Fair ddr2 800

Cons: When I try to get this memory to clock at 1066 mu system crashes after just a short while I have tried to make it work. I callet tec support at Kingston and was told my Mb wont run 1066 I am running a Msi K9N2 SLI Platnum with a amd phenom quad core cpu socket Am2+. running it at 800 my system is still somewhat unstable. I am thinking this purchace was a mistake.

Other Thoughts: still trying to find help, may have to return the memory.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Kingston are very sorry for your experience with your product. Please keep in mind for the motherboard you are using there is a chipset and processor limitation. In order to use 1066MHz you are limited to using only 2 single rank modules, DDR2 2GB modules will be dual rank all others maybe single or dual depending on what DRAM chips are being used. If you use a memory manufacturers configuration tool you will see 800MHz being recommended. If you use dual rank 1066MHz memory modules with the AMD Phenom II X2 they will automatically clock down to 800MHz. This memory kit was labled correctly. In the future please look at the manual for limitations or contact your motherboard manufacturer. If you have any other questions or require further assistance, feel free to contact us directly at 800 835-6575. We are available M-F, 6am-5pm, PT. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

1 out of 5 eggsProduct not as dexcribed

Pros: None. Paid for DDR2-1066 ram and received DDR2-800

Cons: Where do I begin. On the advice of others I made the mistake of ordering a set of these. First set arrived with one of the heatspreaders off and some of the ram chips with it. The other stick would actually run as advertised at 1066, and as high as 1100 no problems. RMA'd and the replacements would never so much as post at anything over 900. Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering a second set (for 8gig total) during the RMA of the first set. That set wouldn't post above 900 either. Kingston never returned e-mails, and phone calls got me nowhere (endless holds, with them eventually hanging up on me before I was ever connected to a human).

I know the motherboards (5 so far) that I tried them on are fully capable of running ram at 1066 as the G.Skill and Patriot 1066 that I own have no problems doing so on them. It's just these low quality, over rated T1's that won't, and Kingston doesn't care about the problem and won't do a thing about it.

Other Thoughts: Not only was I shafted with a substandard product that doesn't run as advertised, they don't honor the warranty, nor do they fulfill the Rebates. Mine was returned as sent after Rebate expired, when it was clearly postmarked the day before. Nice going Kingston. Stick it to a loyal customer who used to recommend your products. Not any more though. It's G.Skill, Patriot, and Crucial from here on out for me. They stand behind their products, and put the correct label on their products.

Anyone who believes this stuff is actually PC2-8500/DDR2-1066 is completely out of their mind, and anyone who buys ANY Kingston product better set aside enough money to buy a replacement from a different manufacturer to get what you paid for from Kingston and didn't receive.

To say I am upset is an understatement. I feel deceived, betrayed, and victimized. I wasted too much time waiting for Kingston Support to figure out out to make this work that I wasn't able to return it for a refund.
