1 out of 5 eggsHit or Miss memory.

Pros: None. memory is not stable.

Cons: I spoke to soon on my last review. This memory is a hit or miss. This time is a miss. Houston we have a no go! Booted and then had problems even after manually setting in bios. The PC would not even boot, so I put my old M brand back in and it boots fine. Guess I will stick with my stable M brand at 9-9-9-24. I have the latest bios and chipset drivers too. Look in your bios u will see profile 1 with this memory installed. The settings for that are wacky. 1.9 volts>? Really?

Other Thoughts: You have to turn the power supply off to even get it to turn off. Sticker says made in China. O-0 If it worked for you then consider yourself lucky. I have it working in another PC built exactly like this and that one has been fairly stable although that PC would randomly shut down a while back but seems to be OK now. Not sure why either. LoL

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised!

Pros: This brand did not have any problems at advertised speed of 7-7-7-20 and have been running it now for 3 months in gaming and everything else.

Cons: I had another brand (M...) that did not want to work as advertised even after a manufacture RMA replacement. It would only run at 9-9-9-24 or else it would Blue Screen and freeze up PC. The company has discontinued the product. Now I know why. O-o

Other Thoughts: Kingston is what I will come back to. I just purchased another set. The price for this 8gb set is great. Hard to find a set with 7-7-7-20 timings.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Performance/Value

Pros: All four modules are running 7-7-7-20 timings with tRFC set to 74 (see below), 1333Mhz, 1.66v (1.66v is as close as my DX48BT2 can get to 1.65v).

Cons: Nope.

Other Thoughts: I had to increase tRFC to 74 from 60, which my previous Kingston 4 x 1GB modules (2 x KHX1333C7D3K2/2G) ran at. The Kingston data sheet for this 8GB set lists the tRFC for cas 9 at 110ns, note that it's the same for cas 7. To find that the tRFC is 74 required math, as the data sheet lists tRFC in nanoseconds, not megahertz.

Proof:
1Mhz = 1,000,000 hertz.
1 sec = 1,000,000,000 nanoseconds.
DDR clock rate is doubled, actual clock rate is half the DDR clock rate.
Kingston listed minimum tRFC = 110ns.

(1,000,000 hertz)(1333 megahertz bus speed) = 1,333,000,000 clock strikes per second DDR.
1,333,000,000 hertz DDR / 2 = 666,500,000 clock strikes per second base speed (non-DDR).
(0.000000001 seconds)(110 nanoseconds) = 0.00000011 seconds.
(0.00000011 second tRFC length)(666,500,000 hertz actual bus speed) = tRFC of 73.315 clock strikes long.

Other timings stable on my DX48BT2:
tRRD = 4
tWR = 10
tWTR = 5
tRTP = 5

1 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed :(

Pros: Has a heat spreader?

Cons: I'm very disappointed in this memory. I bought 12 GB (6 sticks) for use in upgrades of 3 Dell Optiplex 780 systems (4 GB per system). Unfortunately, the Dell's only detect it at 1066 speeds, and there's no way to change that in BIOS. Windows WEI (using Win7 Pro 64-bit) only rates this memory at 5.9, even the stock memory modules that came with the systems report at 7.2. CPU-Z shows similar low performance numbers.

Other Thoughts: I realize I'm using this on Dell's, with no way to adjust timings or other things in BIOS, but even the stock memory performed much faster than these modules did, in all three systems. :(

5 out of 5 eggsIt's Kingston, what would you expect

Pros: Price to performance- 8 Gb of 1300Mhz for $99 w/ a CAS of 7 and timings of 7-7-7-20 rock solid (for AMD you must set it to this timing manually)

Kingston- Nuff Said

Tons o OC headroom- (which brings you back to the whole Price to performance thing again)

Cons: Had to install only one stick in the 0 slot, re-boot, then shut down and then install the other 3 sticks, no big hassle

Other Thoughts: Just get/have a mobo that can OC along side this RAM and be happy.

AMD II 4x 965
Radeon Sapphire 6950

1 out of 5 eggsUse Caution

Pros: It did initialize as 8GB of memory.

Cons: Memory tends to have different compatibility on different systems; however, this is poorly manufactured memory. I returned the first set I received due to random reboots (thanks Newegg!), and since I received a second set I still have the same random reboots. Upon troubleshooting using a memory tester (Memtest86+), I found this memory will not run at the manufacturer's rating without errors. I had to run at 1066MHz using CAS7 (7-7-7-20), and dual channel interleave disabled, in order for this memory to pass Memtest86+. My other memory (Crucial Ballistix) works perfectly in the same PC (e.g. no memory errors in Memtest86+, at lower latency & higher speeds). This memory is rated at 7-7-7-20, 1333MHz, at 1.65vDC. These specs do not work with this memory.

Other Thoughts: I usually love Kingston Hyper-X memory, but two DOA sets of Hyper-X?! Too much, buyer beware. These are priced cheaply for a reason - they are! Shame on Newegg for passing on low-quality memory.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked like a charm

Pros: This ram kit is great. I am running it on a M4a79T Deluxe with an AMD Phenom II X4 925 oced @ 3.3. The kit worked very good at stock plug-and-play. I overclocked my cpu and then set the latencys on the memory to 7-7-7-20-1 and it is running at 1333Mhz flawlessly.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I loved the way it smelled when I opened it :D
