5 out of 5 eggsWorks... but that fine print got me again.

Pros: I've owned one set of these for a little under 8 months now. Bought them because their JEDEC speed is 1866-11-11-11 WITHOUT XMP, which obviously is good for us AMD users out there that don't have access to Intel XMP.

And they worked flawlessly at 1866-11-11-11 out of the box, no configuration necessary. BIOS picked up the JEDEC speed and rolled with it.

Cons: Couple of months ago ordered a second kit and popped it in. And.... speeds went down to 1600-10-10-10.

I can mix and match any two sticks of this memory in any dual channel slot configuration, and it'll run at the full 1866-11-11-11. But as soon as I plop in all four sticks it drops down to 1600-10-10-10. I try to force the memory back up to 1866 and the system won't boot.

As it turns out this is a limitation with memory controller within the Bulldozer/Piledriver CPUs. AMD has said, in fine print of course, that it cannot guarantee four DIMMs to run at 1866mhz.

Other Thoughts: Even though the memory isn't running at the full 1866mhz-11-11-11 speeds with all four sticks, I cannot justify taking an egg off for it.

It is pretty obvious that the memory itself is running flawlessly, and the issue is likely a shortcoming in the Bulldozer/Piledriver microarchitecture.

Disappointing for sure, but hey... you win some & you lose some.

For those who are curious, I've gotten the four sticks of the memory to go up to 1800mhz by manually overclocking within the BIOS, but it won't quite reach the 1866mhz mark.

5 out of 5 eggsKingston 1866 PnP

Pros: Runs at 1866. WEI score 7.4. Fast, stable, no problems. Does not interfere with CPU cooler. Worth the price. High quality.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: ASRock FM2A85X Extreme4-M MOBO.
Corsair 650W PS.

I would buy another pair, eventually; but I am using only about 1/4th of the 8Gig, so far. The response time is incredibly fast.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective Product

Pros: None

Cons: Was sold as 1866 MHz operates as 1600 cannot be adjusted
Computer just Blue screens @ attempt

Other Thoughts: Surprised Kingston would put out such a shoddy Product - others have had the same Problem - Practically all my RAM has been purchased has been Kingston their loosing one of their biggest fans and I'm sure they will be losing others - I will just use the RAM as Expensive 1600 MHz -

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Awesome Review

Pros: Fast, stable RAM. Can't ask for more. Used these to replace 8 GB's of Corsair Vengeance and now I've purchased another 8 GB's for a total of 16. Wouldn't trade these sticks for the world.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Get these sticks...

3 out of 5 eggsFollow-up

Pros: Following up on earlier review.

Cons: Following up on earlier review.

Other Thoughts: Following up on my earlier review. I never got this memory to work stably at the 1866 speed. Always failed Prime95, or locked the box. Didn't matter what timings, voltages, really, I used. However, I lowered it to 1600 speed and ran at those timings, and everything appears 100% fine. I don't know what to tell you, I think I just unluckily got a sketchy module that couldn't do the speed published.

I like Kingston. This is the first time I've been disappointed. Just unlucky I guess.

3 out of 5 eggsYeah...not as happy as others.

Pros: Looks good. Probably *IS* good. Read on.

Cons: Yeah I'm getting whacky behavior, even when I go and manually set all primary and secondary timings to the specs. Prime stress test on blend mode errors out pretty fast with a "rounding error", and I've even had some lock-ups. I raised the DRAM voltage a little bit above 1.5V, and the stability improved remarkably (but still is not 100%). This almost certainly assures that the problem is in the DRAM modules themselves, and not something else.

Other Thoughts: I am sure this RAM is great. After ten years of nothing at Kingston ever crapping out on me, it was inevitable that I'd get a dodgy piece somewhere...and what more likely place than high-defect rate parts like RAM.

So yeah, my modules are not 100%. But that happens with RAM. I am sure I can RMA it without a problem if needed.

Ethics, however, forces me to rate it 3-stars, even though I am sure if I were to replace the modules they'd be 5-stars.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: Plug in and ran right up to speed. Solid RAM. Already ran 2 hours of Memtest86 and everything is solid.

Replaced a pair of Corsair Vengeance that was messing up bad. At least Corsair is awesome with a lifetime warranty.

Cons: Uhhh what would be a con about these sticks?

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend these sticks for anyone who wants super fast reliable memory.

NewEgg is freaking awesome as always. I needed these RAM modules to get my work rig back up and running so I could finish work this weekend and I wasn't able to put my order in for Rush processing and overnight shipping till after 3pm. NewEgg heard from me about my dilemma and made sure that my package was shipped out last night even though I was a few hours past the deadline. Thanks a bunch, you guys rule!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent as usual

Pros: Exceeds any stress test limits I've used so far. No weird memory errors. I've always used Kingston memory; and this batch is as reliable as ever

Cons: Went on sale after I installed it

Other Thoughts: Great complement to the X79 Sabertooth motherboard
