5 out of 5 eggsGOOD MEMORY

Pros: Can use on intel or amd. has the xmp profile for intel. on my gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, there is a setting in the bios for easy overclock settings. for amd, dont use that. it will default to 1333mhz on a phenom. or 1600 which is an overclock setting. if you are using an FX processor it will run natively at 1866 with 2 sticks. i bought this as a future proof upgrade.

Cons: the price went up a lot. on 1-23-13 i paid $49.99.

Other Thoughts: not sure if ill be going with amd or intel next time, but either way this memory should work.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Stable at 1600, not 1866 ram

Pros: Very stable in my new build: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 at 1600 but...

On QVL for my Asus mobo.

Cons: the ram is sold at 1866 and I have tried everything to get it to post at 1866, (D.O.C.P), timings, you name it. One module reads 1866 in SPD the other reads 1600. Supposed to be a matched set, not happening with this ram at 1866. Have had great luck with Kingston in the past.

Other Thoughts: I did get it to post at 1800 but my system never makes it through Windows 8 Startup. At 1600 this ram is money!!!!!

1 out of 5 eggsno 1866

Pros: nice and blue

Cons: will not go to 1866 bought 1866 have 1333 could have bought 1333 for less

Manufacturer Response:

This is Scott and I apologize for the issue you are having. However, HyperX memory requires the user to go into the BIOS and configure the overclocking features. Please call me at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another technician will be happy to assist you.
Please have your part on hand when you call so that I can properly identify the product that you have.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat and awful at the same time

Pros: Does clock at 1866 after much googling and tweaking. Cheap.

Cons: Took forever to find out what would make this clock at 1866 on my motherboard.

Other Thoughts: This memory clocks at 1600 when you set the memory speed on your motherboard to that. If you try on an ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX at 1866 it won't post without some changes. Unfortunately for me it took forever to figure out which settings would work.

On the motherboard I would set it at 1866 with 9-11-9-27 at 1.65 volts and it still wouldn't post. Those are the timings published on their website. It turns out you have to got into the advanced AI Tweaker and change it to D.O.C.P instead of auto). Then the motherboard will adjust the other settings to make it work. It took me a few hours and about a hundred reboots until I found this out and got it to work. Thought I would share in case someone else has an ASUS AMD motherboard to use this memory with.

5 out of 5 eggs790i users READ THIS

Pros: It freaking WORKS

Cons: nothing

Other Thoughts: this WILL work with 790i FTW evga boards, and I assume other 790i boards as well (not tested though on those).

If you were running 4GB memory before at 1.9 volts make sure you dump down voltage to 1.65 on this memory and save the profile BEFORE you turn off your Pc to install this memory.

Also, make sure your timings are all 9's with 24 at the end.

Turn on your PC, and bam it works. Stable for 1.5 days now, played games, video encoded etc.

5 out of 5 eggsInstant Recognition..

Pros: 1866 to get the best from my FX-8150.
I've been using Kingston for years, always dependable.
Over/Under Clockable.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to remove my Kingston HyperX 1600's (2X4) to have 16GB in my HTPC. So, I searched for memory for my main PC. 2133/1866/1600, which ones? Reading reviews I decided on 1866. Kingston has always been a stable performer.
I multi-task across 3 screens (Eyefinity), and I do see smoother, quicker loading. Not a huge difference over 1600, but it's nice to have the option with these.
Feel confident ordering these. These are a newer release, so there are not a lot of reviews yet. I'm very happy with my choice to get these, and I'm sure you will too.

When I installed these, it was instant compatability installed on: MSI 990FXA-GD80 with an AMD FX-8150.
I set the timimgs and they are performing great. I figured 1866 is a perfect OC.

5 out of 5 eggsLoving it

Pros: -Dead sexy looks (an opinion, of course)
-Reasonably priced

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Used this kit in my first ever computer build, works like a charm. Since I'd never really worked much in a BIOS before, it took me a while to figure out how to clock the RAM at 1866 (motherboard defaulted it to 1333), but it's perfect now. I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning 8

Pros: When I bought this ram I intended to run it at 1700MHz because of my fsb at 1700x9=cpu3.8GHz. Just had to tweak it and find the timing sweet spot@9-9-9-24 @1.68v
So far it is running fine, will post later if issues arise.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Just upgraded to W7~64 from WXP~32.
CPU=Intel QX6850
MOBO=Evga 790i for the win
PSU=Enermax Galaxy 1250w
GPU=Evga GTX275
