1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Can't think of any. The price is nothing to faint over.

It was a painless RMA though. Thanks Newegg!

Cons: None of the sticks would work at rated speed.

2 of the 4 sticks failed at 1333.

I stopped testing beyond that before I got irritated.

Cross shipping is not available on memory RMAs but I wouldn't have asked for the same stuff anyway. I went Mushkin who has served me reliably in the past and has great customer service.

Other Thoughts: They test every stick? Right.

I suppose when it comes down to the sheer number of transistors in 24 billion bits of memory it's got to be tough to hit 100%, but sheesh.

5 out of 5 eggsXMP 2400 didnt work

Pros: Works fine at 2133 but my intel z77 with i5 3570k wouldnt boot with the xmp 2400, but the 2133 works good

Cons: couldnt get 2400mhz working, maybe if i try overclocking with the profile, but its a pain

Other Thoughts: maybe some tighter timings would be nice but its still fast at 11-12-11-30 at 2133mhz,, would of loved to see how the 2400mhz performed

4 out of 5 eggsneed Ivy Bridge to run at 2400

Pros: Works just fine in my z77WS with a 3770k, ALL of the Sandy Bridge Procs will not run this at 2400, only 2133 due to a limitation in the CPU itself. Ivy Brudge does just fine!

Cons: Will not work at 2400mhz with Sandy Bridge procs, NOT the memory's fault, that's the procs fault.

Other Thoughts: Switched back and forth with exact same system only changing out the 2700k for 3770k. Sandy Bridge will not run this at 2400, the proc CAN'T do it, which is sad, because the 2700k oc's way better than the 3770k, but the memory works great with Ivy Bridge!

1 out of 5 eggsWill not run at rated speed

Pros: Ran perfectly at any speed but the rated 2400

Cons: Went through two kits. Both of the kits had the same issue. The memory set will not post when XMP profile 1 (2400) is selected. They both will run perfectly on XMP profile 2 (2133). Even manually setting the voltage, frequency and timings would not work. I tested each memory stick individually and on both sets, two of the sticks would run at the rated speed (2400) and one would give errors on memtest and the other stick would not post.

Other Thoughts: After two RMAs, I am going to have to go with a different manufacturer. Big props from Newegg for working with me on the return and refund.

1 out of 5 eggsWould not work at rated speed

Pros: not a hiccup when running on XMP profile 2 (2133), no errors on Memtest 4.20

Cons: The first set I had would not boot properly at XMP profile 1 (2400). I defaulted all the setting on my mother board and tested each stick individually. Two of the memory sticks worked flawlessly at 2400, one had errors (memtest 4.20) and the fourth stick would not boot at all. RMA'd (yay Newegg) for replacement and the same thing happened with the replacement set. I manually set the frequency, timing and voltages to run at spec but no joy. I ended up returning for a refund (props to Newegg once again) and I will purchase ram from a different manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: The ram was on the list of certified memory from the motherboard manufacturer. I could have just gone with the XMP profile 2 (2133) but I paid for 2400.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes The Job

Pros: Just recently ordered these memory sticks, mainly because they happen to be on my mobo's QVL. All 4 sticks boot up to full specs, ie, 2400 MHZ on a Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I had to RMA Avexir 2666 modules because they could not be OC'd to specs. But then again, they were also not on the mobo QVL list which may have been the reason why they would only boot up to 2200 MHZ. A lesson learned: ALWAYS check the motherboard QVL list BEFORE you purchase memory!!
