5 out of 5 eggsIgnorance abounds All memory above 1600 is overclocked

Pros: It does what it says it does. great price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The reviewer who states this memory is really niot 1866 shows their utter ignorance. ALL dimms rated above 1600 mhz are "overclocked" by definition.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM for Llano

Pros: Good price, usually on sale the same as DDR3-1600
Great for FM1/Llano builds which can take advantage of the speed
Blue :)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've used several of these kits in barebones builds that I sell through my website. I use them with the ASRock A75M-ITX motherboard and the A6-3500 processor in the Realan E-i5 case with the Silverstone NT07-AM2 cooler. They've been very reliable, 100%, and all it takes is to go into the BIOS and set them to DDR3-1866. The integrated GPU can take full advantage of the 1866 speed. I keep seeing them on-sale for the same price as DDR3-1600 so why not (DDR3-1600 is really the sweet spot for Llano). These would not make sense for Intel however which maxes out at DDR3-1333.

3 out of 5 eggsNot 1866mhz

Pros: Good price for 8GB of ram.

Cons: The 1866mhz speed rating is NOT native. As indicated on Kingstons Site these are actually 1333mhz that have been tested to be able to be over-clocked to 1866.

Other Thoughts: The fact that the advertised speed is only attainable via over clocking seems a bit dishonest. Can you read the vendor docs and discover this, yes. Should you have to, no. Whats more kingstone doesn't warranty overclocking damage even though they list the overclocked speed. They also don't test this overclocked ram on specific mobo's, so you have no way to know if it will work for you. Products should list the native speed, not what it might be able to do in a perfect lab environment.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Installed it and works

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Couldn't get the DDR3 1866 to work with my motherboard, but not going to dock an egg because it works just fine with DDR3 1600.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory once again from Kinston

Pros: Fast, cheap, looks great. Ran great at 1866 on Gigabyte Z68 MB.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It is nice when the sticks auto detect the timings and speed but before you post reviews about a product do some more reading and learn how to use your motherboards settings....

5 out of 5 eggsTo the "one bad reviewer"

Pros: First.. most motherboard by default will "NOT" set the memory speed to 1866 speeds, even if it is the default speed of the motherboard, very few do that. The majority of AMD AM2/AM3 (and some AM3+) motherboards set the speeds by default to "DDR3 1333" speeds. My "Asus Sabertooth 990FX" did the samething, you have to go any "manually change it" in the BIOS, and the "memory standards" for my mobo are 1866/1600/1333/1066, yet it still defaulted my ddr3 1600 to 1333, I had to manually select ddr3 1600. I believe alot of Intel mobo's do the samething, depending on the memory speed.

Cons: Dunno, do not own it, just commenting on the bad reviewer.

Other Thoughts: Think before you POST people! I see alot of people giving bad reviews on hardware, and it is not the hardware that is the problem, it's the reviewer not knowing what to do or how to properly configure stuff. I am not saying that this guy did for sure, but that is what it sounds like to me!

1 out of 5 eggsKeep your money !!!

Pros: The only Pro about this ram for me was Newegg's fast shipping of it. Bought 2 kit's of this ram. Never again anything Kingston makes.

Cons: I'd stay away from this product. It's funny that we paid for DDR3 1866 ram. Yet, CPU-z, MSI Live Update, Passmark RAMMon and your bios will all say it's DDR3 1333 and those are the highest timings any of the software/bios will show you.You have to go to Kingston's website just to get a 2 page pdf that lists DDR3 133, 1600 and 1866 timings. That doesn't list all of them though. The even funnier thing is everything recognized my previous G-Skill Ripjaws Series DDR3 1600 ram that my 2 kits of this ram replaced. Then you go to Kingston's website to fill out a support form for the information you need and that's an extreme headache of a 3 page form and after you complete the 3rd page you get their stupid captcha before they'll accept their own form. Then you click to submit it and their process freezes up in it's tracks. If it were my pc or internet connection, I wouldn't be able to sign in here or post this review. this is nothing on Newegg. It's all KINGSTON.

Other Thoughts: Go with Corsair, G-Skill, Mushkin, Patriot or any other ram manufacturer first.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the issue you are having. However, HyperX memory requires the user to go into the BIOS and configure the overclocking features.

There is another HyperX product called PnP, Plug and Play, where all you need to do is plug them in and the system automatically boots to the specified speed.

Kingston products are 100% tested to meet the listed specifications. If you are not satisfied, please contact our Technical Support team at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) and one of our Technical Support Representatives will assist you with the problem. Please be sure to have the part on hand if you call in.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: This is excellent RAM and I highly recommend it. I'm currently running it at 2000 at 1.65v with no problems. I didn't want to change my FSB speed to match the 1866 but I decided to try it at 2000 and it seems solid! I tested it with Prime95 and HCI Memtest 4.0 and there were no errors. Recommended timings are 9-11-9-27 which I am running.

Cons: None. One side note is that the blue colored heatsinks didn't match my black system but I knew what I was getting.

Other Thoughts: My system: EVGA P55 ForTheWin, i7 860 @ 3.8GHz (200 x 19), Win 7

5 out of 5 eggsCheap and works great

Pros: It was cheap and overclocked and paired well with my overclocked Patriot ram of a similar speed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Free shipping was slow but still within the given timeframe.

5 out of 5 eggsWorka

Pros: Fits snugly and properly.

Cons: The free shipping had it sitting in a nearby city for a couple days. No problems with the product itself.
