5 out of 5 eggsMacBook Pro (Mid 2012) So Far So Good!

This review is from: HyperX Impact Black Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model HX316LS9IBK2/16

Pros: Easy install

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I know 16GB of RAM or DDR3L isn't officially supported by Apple on this model. However, I can confirm these RAM modules are detected and working properly.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks the way they say they do..

This review is from: HyperX Impact Black Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model HX316LS9IBK2/16

Pros: I just added this to my Lenovo Ideapad (AMD version Y700-15acz). The laptop comes with the FX8800P CPU/APU. Its supposed to be AMD's best laptop CPU.. Anyway it came with 8 Gigs with 11 for Latency timings. This ram is plug and play. No problems at all.. I added 16 gigs and stayed at 1600GHZ but with the better timings, 9's for latency. And that's where I think I'm noticing a difference, is with the timings, and not so much with the extra 8 gigs which is probably a combination of the two really... But between the new ram and the Crucial MX200 500 GIG SSD drive, its official this thing is very fast and very responsive.. No problems gaming, Played Black OPPS last night for an hour and it even seemed to play smother..

Cons: One con, I just bought these last week and now there back on sale for 10 bucks less!!!!

Other Thoughts: New egg I'd like to get a credit for the sale price difference. I paid 68, 4 days ago and now you are selling them for 58, what's up wit that?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ram

This review is from: HyperX Impact Black Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model HX316LS9IBK2/16

Pros: Plug and play booted as indicated speed. Ram these days are all but the same so you buy brands for warranty's or just looks.

Does what it says and have had no problems with it whatsoever.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Just buy it already. Comes with a cool badge for your laptop.

4 out of 5 eggsWorking flawlessly in early 2011 Macbook Pro

This review is from: HyperX Impact Black Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model HX316LS9IBK2/16

Pros: Guaranteed to work on early 2011 17" Macbook Pro (MC725LL/A). While my Haswell-based MBP will continue to handle common applications for years to come the system seriously needed memory upgrade -- both main and secondary. My 120GB ssd has about 3 Gigs left -- I know, it's sad -- and I have a habit of keeping on avg 10+ browser windows opened any given time, so when OSX is low on system memory and swap space/disk is full the infamous Beach Ball of Death emerge. This kit solved the half the problem. I Prior to this upgrade I was using the factory-shipped 4GiB kit. As the previous reviewer has mentioned, the performance boost is small but noticeable; sorry, I will take that back because I've only used this kit for several hours at the time this review written and to say the performance is small doesn't do this kit justice. Let's just say the increased performance is evident.

Cons: No combo deal with any ssd. While this kit offers increased performance and capacity, secondary storage is usually the bottle neck deterring the "Impact".

Other Thoughts: This purchase marks the 10-year anniversary of my first HyperX product, which was the KHX3200AK2/2G (DDR400 CL2 2GiB kit; Woot!)

HyperX remains reputable! Glad to have picked this up.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks in MacBook Pro

This review is from: HyperX Impact Black Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model HX316LS9IBK2/16

Pros: I've purchased 2 sets to breathe more life into our MacBooks. I can confirm these HyperX are recognized, and work great in a late 2011 (md385ll/a), and a mid 2012 (md104ll/a) MacBook Pro. The late 2011 was already running 16gb of RAM at CL11 1333mhz 10600, but with CL9 12800 at 1.35v there is a small but noticeable difference. Both are slightly quicker when rendering, booting, and normal use. Haven't seen the beach ball, and would attribute it to the increase of available RAM.

Cons: No combo deal with any ssd. Price fluctuates often.

Other Thoughts: I'm no expert, but I took the chance that these would work with my models since there is almost zero reviews of compatibility.
I rarely post reviews, but figure someone might need confirmation these work in MacBook Pros from late 2011 or mid 2012.

Cons: No cons

5 out of 5 eggsperfect!

This review is from: HyperX Impact Black Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model HX316LS9IBK2/16

Pros: 9-9-9 timings at 1600MHz on 1.35v.

Kingston reputation for quality.

Product is from a privately held American company. Support our workers!

Cons: Does not dispense ice cream.

Other Thoughts: Bought this as an upgrade for a HP EliteBook 725 G2. Works perfectly, no issues. Night-and-day difference in performance going from the stock 4GB single channel CL11 factory DIMM to this 16GB dual channel CL9 kit.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome black laptop memory!

This review is from: HyperX Impact Black Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model HX316LS9IBK2/16

Pros: -Black
-neat logo
-1,600 MHz speed
-CL 9
-reliable; no problems

Cons: -somewhat expensive when I had bought it months ago (but worth it)

Other Thoughts: Somewhat needless 16GB RAM, but oh well.. he he.. someday it'll come in handy I'm sure with a future CAD purchase and the rendering that goes on with it. RAM disk programs so far where awesome to test out which has cut load times of programs in half (he he)! This is an awesome product, but a little overkill (ok mistake).
