4 out of 5 eggsConnection Details

Pros: This item does make a number of connectors accessible from the back of the computer available on the front. Internal connectors are supplied for the 1394 port and for the two USB ports. (The remainder of the ports are connected to cables with jacks that pass thru one of the card slots on the back of the case, and then must be plugged into the corresponding jacks on the rear of the computer. The front panel jacks are simply physically connected to the back of the case with extension cords.

Cons: I purchased this device expecting that the microphone and headphone connections would have an internal connector that would mate with the front panel IO header on my Asus motherboard. Using the header allows connection of speakers to the rear line out port AND headphones to be plugged into the front jack. When headphones are not plugged in, audio is sent to the speakers; when headphones are plugged in, sound is sent to the headphones and the speakers are silent.

Pros: Excelent choice of placement for devices.

Cons: Very poor fitment, screwholes don't have threading, noticeable gap between other bay devices.
uses up a massive amount of system resources when used in Windows XP Pro, causes system to hang and makes booting take 4x as long.

Other Thoughts: poor drivers, no updated drivers available.

5 out of 5 eggsIts all Good

Pros: All the needed Card Readers, RCA and audio works well. Firewire and USB Great

Cons: nada

Other Thoughts: While plugging the cables into the back of the PC may seem stupid, it is great. Easy set up, and if you ever need to unplug something there is no need to open the case

Pros: It works with ever card I've plugged into it without needing to add any drivers to WinXP. Performance seems to be good.

Cons: Adds a lot of clutter to the inside of your case. Aside from the USB and Firewire ports, each other I/O unit is connected by pass-through cables that run through your system, out a PCI slot and connect to existing ports in the back of your system. It would have been nice to put the card reader cable on another internal USB header or make it easy for you to detach and remove cables you have no need for.
