1 out of 5 eggsjunk

Pros: faceplate is black

Cons: this thing is garbage..the ports do not line up with the face plate properly and the usb/sd card slots take a little work to get the usb connector or card to slide in. The USB port on the front of it is not part of a board or module, it is just an extension cord for one of the usb 3.0 ports on the back of your computer that is held to the front faceplate with a zip tie.

Other Thoughts: I bought this one because it was one of the cheapest and had the memory card slots I needed and usb 3.0 and looked good in the pictures. I should of gone with a trusted name brand. You get what you pay for.

2 out of 5 eggscrazy design

Pros: inexpensive, and has many ports available on the front

Cons: The way they designed the USB3.0 connection for the front is just plain stupid; having to route it through the computer case- out the back and into a rear USB3.0???? (dumb). I had to buy an additional adapter to be able to connect it directly to my motherboard; and now I have a coil of excess cable in my case that I would rather not have.
The plastic face I believe is a bit on the large size to fit easily into most front bezels.

I still haven't fully tested it but so far I am very unimpressed.

Complete lack of information for installation.

Other Thoughts: I have bought 3 nmediapc items (lcd, HTPC case, multi-card reader) and have found that they lack the information and support that I would usually get with similar items from other manufacturers. My thought is that NMEDIAPC just want to put out mainstream popular roducts that lack R+D and are not fully supported; not from the hardware compatibility perspective and definitely not from the customer service perspective.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat way to add a USB 3.0 Port

Pros: Wanted to add a USB 3.0 port fast and cheap to a rather expensive full tower case and this worked just fine, plus I gained all the media card readers as a plus. This unit has worked like a champ and have had no issues at all.

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: These little units make good sense if you have a new motherboard that has USB 3.0 ports and your case does not. It's hard to throw away a perfectly good case just to purchase one to get upfront USB 3.0 ports. These do a great job, the only catch is that you will need a empty 3.5" external bay open or you could get a 5.25" to 3.5" drive bay adapter for super cheap if you don't have a free 3.5" bay open.

1 out of 5 eggsnMEDIAPC ZE-C218

Pros: inexpensive = you get what you pay for

Cons: face plate too big for opening, had to file it to make it fit.
have to run the usb 3 cable through the computer and out the back to plug into the rear usb3 port just to use the front usb3, are you kidding me. wish i knew then what i know now. very flemsey and light weight.

Other Thoughts: i haven't tested it yet but just installing it makes me wish i chose another brand. im hoping it will do what its asked to do.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't transfer at USB 3.0 Speeds

Pros: This unit transfers data fine at USB 2.0 speeds. It has good build quality and the memory card readers work.

Cons: I mainly bought this unit to bring one of my back panel USB 3.0 ports to the front. Unfortunately the USB 3.0 port does not transfer at USB 3.0 speeds. When I transfered a single 180 MB file, it transferred from my USB 3.0 flash drive at around 55 MB per second. However, when I tranferred 4 GB of mixed files from that same USB flash drive, it started at 55 MBps for about three seconds then slowed down to 18 MBps for the remaining several minutes of transfer. When I repeated this test using a USB 3.0 extension cable plugged into the same rear USB 3.0 port, it transfered the 4 GB of files at an average of 42 MBps.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to stop using the USB 3.0 port on this unit and use the USB 3.0 extension cables.

4 out of 5 eggsGood For the Price But Flimsy

Pros: -One of the lowest priced card readers with USB 3.0 and e-SATA.
-All of the ports and card slots work correctly
-fits a 3.5" slot

Cons: -Faceplate construction is flimsy. Fell off while I was installing it luckally it snapped back on easy enough (held on with weak plastic tabs)
-no doccumentation
-Partial USB 2.0 header connector (for card reader) not easy to align in motherboard USB header, they should have used a full header connector and just left the unused pins blank.

Other Thoughts: For the price I can't complain much but it certainly could have been better.

2 out of 5 eggsStupid

Pros: It works first off, but if you want to use usb 3.0 forget about it

Cons: to use usb 3.0, you have to take the physical usb connector, and run it all the way into the back of you machine, then you get usb 3.0...

Faceplate too large for the hole in my antec 100, the front shield would pull it off and eventually broke one of the stupid flimsy tabs that holds it in.

Usb doesnt work, unless you want to look like a fool.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks, but rather cheaply built.

Pros: It's working for what I needed it for.

Cons: Faceplate was a touch off compared to the slots. SD card snags when inserting and removing. I also had to file it down because it was too wide, wouldn't fit into my opening properly. USB port opening is almost 1/8th lower than the connector. Came with no documentation! (Chances are someone might need that.)

5 out of 5 eggsBest Value Card Reader

Pros: Everything is Plug and Play, No Drivers!
Fits in the aDrive slot!
Great price!

Cons: Comes with NO instructions!?

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 x64

There are three cables coming out of the back of the unit, the sata and usb 3.0 are obvious, but the third is a partial usb plug. You need to make sure to insert it correctly into the motherboard usb extension slot, for me the red wire was to the left of the input. Good luck...
