Pros: USB 3.0 connection, so it should be fast.

Cons: Beware if you plan to use this for CF cards. The design of the slot is very poor - the pins are not inset as far as in most CF card slots, which means it's easy to have a card be misaligned when it hits the pins. Result - bent pins, and possibly damaged CF card. Most card readers have some travel in the card guides so by the time the card gets to the pins it's straight. With this - it hits the pins almost immediately.

To further compound the problem, the slot is not even aligned correctly with the pins. This makes it nearly impossible (at least on the unit I had) to ever get a CF card in correctly.

Other Thoughts: I bought one of these elsewhere, bent the pins on the very first CF card I tried to insert, and ended up sending it back. I wouldn't recommend it. I did not try the other slots, so can't comment on those.

Pros: Works well. One of the few readers on newegg that only requires one usb 3.0 connection rather then a usb 3.0 and 2.0 - making it perfect for a cheap mb without many front panel usb headers.

Cons: The alignment of the card receptacles isn't great. Even the blue usb 3.0 prong is crooked a few degrees making it so you have to insert sticks beginning on a horizontal angle.

Other Thoughts: Put it back on the boat and send it back.

Pros: Arrived by stated date, in perfect working order right out of the box. Very competitive price. Came in a sturdy box (undamaged) packaged in a manilla-bubble envelope. Transaction was problem free via Newegg, as it always has been for me. Would buy from this vendor again and as always Newegg is very good.

Cons: No cons!

Pros: Once installed, this drive seems to work fine and the USB3.0 speeds are very nice for transferring pictures from my digital camera, etc.

The cord to connect to the motherboard was plenty long enough to get around my video card and reach the plug-in on the board, even with my 90 degree rotated Silverstone case.

Cons: Had some trouble during installation, where the drive was installed, but would not work. I resolved this by looking in Device Manager and noticing there were two drivers for "Renesas USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller" and the second was not working properly. It wasn't until I uninstalled both of these drivers and scanned for hardware changes that everything worked properly.

Once installed, there are two feature I'm not too happy with. One is a red LED that stays lit, even when the computer is off. The second is that memory cards have to be inserted upside down; not a problem, but not very intuitive.

Other Thoughts: All in all, I'm glad to see a memory drive that finally takes advantage of the USB3.0 plug on my motherboard. This just could have been better.
