5 out of 5 eggsWorks on dell r300

Pros: Works on dell r300

Was worried it wouldn't work, but after reading someone else had it working on dell r805, decided to take a risk

After installing on the first two ( white banks ) on the motherboard, and booting up, it gave amber error by dell bios, indicating memory configuration error. There was worry it wouldn't work at all.

However, once switched to the last two banks ( of the four black banks ) on the motherboard, it booted up fine.

This may have something to do with the fact that these two rams are paired up. Currently the config is 1gbx2 on the white banks, 1gbx2 on the first two black banks, and the last two has the 2gbx2 from kingston purchased here. the 1gbs came with the dell ( so they were dell certified )

Cons: may not work on the first two designated banks on dell r300

Other Thoughts: For the price paid in total ( 14x.xx dollars ), comparing to official dell ram, this is an amazing deal, even with the shipping costs!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for Tyan S3992G3NR-E R

Pros: Works great. No complaints

Cons: It works and it's guaranteed forever. What else is memory supposed to do?

Other Thoughts: This is the memory that Newegg had offered on the order page for the Tyan AMD based mobo. I had made the mistake of originally ordering server memory designed for Intel technology (Intel "buffered" vs. AMD "registered") but luckily was able to change the order before it shipped.

Server boards are complicated because there are so many options. If Newegg's techs recommend a particular memory for it, take their advice unless you spent a couple of months in deep study.

4 out of 5 eggsRegistered = = Buffered

Pros: Okay, see below

Cons: Okay, see below

Other Thoughts: I understand others concerns about incompatibility. I made the same mistake with an ASUS mobo. These RAMs are registered (ie, buffered). As I sadly learned they don't work with mobo's that expect unbuffered RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

Pros: Never an issue. Running a supermicro server with 16GB of RAM on a high transactions system and it has yet to show signs of being over worked. It actually performs best without a page file on the system.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Ran several stress tests prior to placing in production and can run at more than 75% utilization for very long periods of time and not show signs of stress.

5 out of 5 eggswork fine

Pros: I have 4GBx3 in SUPERMICRO MBD-X7DCA-L-O run just fine and wish they have 8GB just a little higher price in-stead-of triple up the price.
I let it on for 1 week to test wake on LAN, sleep, power off/on... just fine.

Cons: no cons yet, if anyone fine one. pls, sent to my email: phungsu@phungsuaz.com.
