5 out of 5 eggsApparently a good product

Pros: I was looking through my account here and saw that I had purchased this flash card. To be completely honest, I could not remember buying it. After a while I realized it must be the one I bought for my wife's camera.

She has been using her camera almost daily for the last couple years since we bought this. Everything seems great.

I'd highly recommend this, especially for the price.

Pros: Great card with great value

Cons: Took almost a week for this to travel 26 miles. Newegg should revamp their shipping partners.

1 out of 5 eggsWorks only in device

Pros: - cheap storage

Cons: - the card can only be read in the Zoom H2 and cameras that I have tried it with. Will not work with card readers even with different formating tries.

Other Thoughts: pretty useless to have a USB3 card reader when I have to keep the card in the devices that transfer at UBBER slow speeds.

5 out of 5 eggsfollow up to my previous review

Pros: cheap

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I read the manufacturers response to my previous review and tried to sort out my problem. I finally took their suggestion and downloaded Crystal Disk Mark. What this showed me was that the current version of this card has a write speed of just over 4MB per second, which is in spec for a class 4 card. The old Kingston class 4 card which I already owned has a write speed of just under 10 MB per second. So my old card was way better than class 4 - almost class 10. It's unfortunate that my camera manual (panasonic GH2) gave me almost no information as to what class card I should be using.

2 out of 5 eggsdisappointing

Pros: cheap

Cons: slow

Other Thoughts: I have a version of this card which looks exactly like the picture on the Newegg page. I ordered four of these and the cards I received look slightly different although the specs on them are the same (8GB SD HC Class 4). I am using them in a panasonic GH2 which, according to my manual, requires a class 4 card. Before I ordered these cards, I tried some speed comparisons with a class 6 card and found there was no difference so I assumed that a class 4 card would support writes as fast as the camera is capable of. When I got the new cards, I did a comparison with my older Kingston card and found that all four of the new cards are SIGNIFICANTLY slower. If I do a burst of three shots (for bracketing) with the old card, the write will complete in under 10 seconds. With all of the new cards, the write takes over 17 seconds. I don't know if this means that my old card was actually faster than class 4 or that the new cards are slower than class 4, but the newer cards are slower

Manufacturer Response:

It is recommended that the user format the card with the camera before use for optimum performance. If you have already attempted to use the card after being formatted with your camera and the performance is still not up to par then please visit Kingston’s support website for assistance with card performance issues. There is an FAQ that provides steps to remedy the issue.

You may also use Crystal Disk Mark to measure the read/write performance of our cards or contact our Kingston Tech Support directly at 800-435-0640 (U.S. & Canada)
