- Cons: none yet
Franklin
- Pros: Installed in a MacBook Pro (Late 2006) (MBP2,2) with no issues, replacing a 1GB module. The extra gig allows me to run two (small) VMs without swapping.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: I didn't do any heat or battery tests before and after the upgrade. I can't imagine adding an extra gig of RAM won't affect battery life and how hot a MBP can get, but I didn't notice any significant change.
Works Good
- Pros: Installed without any hassle into my HP pavillion dv6500 Notebook PC featuring AMD Turion 64 x 2 dual core processor. While I guess I expected a little more zip than what I'm seeing, no doubt can see at least a subtle improvement. I think I need to get another 2G.
- Cons: none so far, although the installation was painless, the initial start-up after the reboot seemed to take a bit longer than expected. Scared me for a minute, but everything works fine.
- Other Thoughts: I suggest always looking closely at what you can actually fit in your notebook. I got very lucky with this- I had asked HP what I could upgrade to, and they told me I had room for an additional 2G of RAM....not thinking- I was thinking this equated into two (additional) slots. Not used to upgrading a notebook. So I had two slots- took 1G out and replaced it with the 2G RAM. Always check first prior to ordering and make no assumptions...just my advice.
